Cool #landscaping #gardening #hack I found on the internet for getting rid of unwanted #weeds!

Cut cardboard or construction paper into pieces, lay them over weeds, water them down, and let them decompose into the soil while blocking new growth. The paper becomes compost and improves soil quality. Top it with red lava rocks for looks.

Here's a cool little landscaping and gardening hack that I read on the internet. If you're getting weeds growing into one of your flower or mulch gardens, you can actually use either construction paper or possibly even cardboard to put into the areas where you're going to have the weed growth. The first step was to rip small pieces of the construction paper, eh, so they would fit the areas where the weeds were coming in. And now the next step is to basically water it down lightly just so it'll stay into place and get the paper a little bit wet so that it actually starts the process of decomposition. The goal here is for actually the paper to basically just turn into compost after a while, but be there long enough so that it will keep the weeds from being able to grow back in. I used this little strategy this time for our fairy garden out front as it was getting a bit overgrown. And part of the reason that you want to use like paper, construction paper, or possibly cardboard is because it will ultimately break down and become part of the soil. And yet it will still last long enough to choke out some of the weeds that you don't want, thus keeping the soil quality below better. Could finish this off with a nice set of red lava rocks, maybe to surround the outside.
