How do we know if a college coach is really interested?

A college coach can't show interest until they know you exist. Get your video, stats, and academics to coaches who recruit your position and match your level. Offers come last, after email, texts, calls, visits, and camps.

So how do you know if a college coach is actually interested in you? First, you have to understand this: before a coach can be interested in you, they have to know about you. They have to know who you are. That sounds obvious, but a lot of athletes are sitting around wondering why coaches are not reaching out when they have never actually gotten in front of the right schools or they know about the athlete. So the first question is, Do college coaches know who you are? And if they don't, what is your plan to change that? Because interest usually starts when a coach sees something they like— your video, your measurables, your physicality, your stats, your projectability, your position, your grades, your body, your athleticism, your ability to fit what they are recruiting. But here's where a lot of families get frustrated. They are chasing schools where the athlete is not actually a fit. If a school is not recruiting your position, if your metrics do not match what they are usually recruiting, if you are not an academic fit, if you are not at realistic for that level, then you may not get interest no matter how many emails you send. When a coach is truly interested, you will usually start to see more direct communication. All right? They may start emailing you personally, then texting, then calling, then They may invite you to campus for a college visit. They may want to see you at a camp. They may talk more specifically about where you fit in their program. And eventually, if the fit is right, they can lead to an offer. But it does not start with the offer. It starts with exposure, them getting to know you. It starts with getting in front of the right schools. And it starts with targeting programs where you actually fit athletically, academically, geographically, and financially. So if you are trying to build relationships recruiting interests. Start local. Start with schools that can actually see you in a geographical sense. Start with schools that recruit your position. Start with schools where your ability matches what they are looking for, because that is the goal. It's not just sending emails to college coaches around the country. The goal is to get in front of the right ones. If you're looking for a proven plan to start generating more interest and offers, comment playbook and I'll send it to you.

Most families are not missing scholarship money because their athlete is unqualified.

Two families DM’d me this week with the exact opposite problem. Same answer for both. 👇
