Hey, team Alex here. And in today's episode, it's going to be short and sweet, but hopefully very impactful for you. We're going to be talking about how to make it easier for schools and college scouts to discover you or find your son going through this college recruiting process. Because if we make it easier for them, it's going to be easier for us. The last thing that we want to do is kind of sit back and hope to be found, go to these random tournaments, just play tournaments in Georgia and Texas and New York and Florida and California and just hope to be found. That is not making it easier for these college coaches, is not making it easier for you. And if you're new to my channel, my name is Alex Swinson. I'm A former Division 1 college coach, scout and recruiter with 11 years of experience. And now what I do is help high school baseball players and their parents navigate this college recruiting process and make it easier for them and put them in the best possible position to play at the next level. I've helped hundreds and hundreds of guys play at the college level and even beyond. So if you're interested in you want some more help going through this because I know it can be overwhelming, you can visit my website down below to learn more. You can book a call with me. I'll put my website up right here as well. You can click down in the description on that link. So in order for a college coach to recruit you or your son, they need to know about your son. All right? That's very important. And of course it makes it a lot easier for them because, yeah, you could possibly get discovered somewhere. But man, that is a rarity these days. I talk to these college coaches on a weekly basis and they know who they're going to be going to watch. They don't just randomly show up at a tournament and just hope to find somebody. No, they have a good detailed plan of who they're going to see, which fields they're at or at showcases and camps, who's coming to them to watch them going through this. So make sure that you guys are taking ownership of your recruiting process. Don't just solely rely on your travel team or your high school coach because they one usually are not very helpful in this recruiting process, just from my experience. And if you do, guys, have a good one. Man, that is awesome. That's a huge blessing. But don't just solely rely on the them. Make sure that you are taking the correct steps to put yourself in the best possible position and to make it easy for you to be discovered by these college coaches. All right. Grab the bull by its horns if you will. So let's talk about how to make this easier for college coaches. First things off is email and video. You can get discovered and get traction really going fast by sending a bunch of emails over a weekend. And next thing you know you get 10, 15, 20 responses. The coaches like w wow. I like what I see right here. And these emails don't make them long. All right? Do not make them long. Your videos should not be long either. It's short and concise. And make sure that you have a one click video link so college coaches can view this. We help with all this. I help with my guys going through this program. I'm making it easier for again the parents but also the coaches. That is really important. Social media can make it a lot easier for you to be discovered doing that the right way or whether it's on X, whether it's on Instagram. Go in and follow me on Instagram and X as well. I have a lot of college coaches following me there. Make sure that your profile is in a good position so they have all the information that they need. And then plus pin your video at the top of your account. That makes it a lot easier for them to watch you going through this. And then you want to consider showcases and camps. Now the thing with showcases and camps, you just want to make sure that they're the good ones. There's a lot of bad ones out there. Showcases are like third parties, all right. Where we know college coaches are going to be there. I'm not talking about Perfect Game or PBR, but more showcases where we know that a 30 to 40 college coaches are going to be there with schools. And what coaches making sure that they're the recruiting coordinator or the head coach that does the recruiting. Not like a volunteer intern. That's very important. Also look for games. You got to play games at these showcases and camps because if you go to a half day event with just a pro style workout where you run a six day or you take defense and BP and you throw a short pin, that's not enough. All right. College coaches need to see you in game as well. So consider that. And then also and lastly make sure that you are targeting schools that are a good fit for you athletically and academically. If you are targeting schools like a Vanderbilt or a Stanford that athletically we are not up to the par that they need from a metrics, there's a certain standard that, that they need to have you at, then we are going to be wasting our time. We're going to be wasting the coach's time. All right, not to say you shouldn't be going after this, especially if you're a fringe. You don't need to be a D1 guy right now, especially if you're like a sophomore. And by the way, that's really when the recruiting process really starts and gets ramped up. So if you're a sophomore, get the ball rolling on this. But make sure that you're going after schools that are a good fit for you athletically and academically. Okay? There's D1. There's the Power Four schools. There's D1, mid majors. There's D2, great baseball. D3, great baseball. NAIA, great baseball. JUCO. Great baseball. Make sure that you are open to all the levels and attack those schools. Go and recruit those schools. Make it easy for them. If you guys have any questions, please reach out. Let me know. And I look forward to helping you in the future going through this recruiting process. Talk soon. Bye.
