Most camp invites are NOT what parents think they are.

Most camp invites are recruiting tools for the camp, not recruiting opportunities for you. Check if the coach actually needs your position, send a highlight video, ask for feedback, and skip camps too far away for college scouts to watch your high school games.

I know decoding camp invites from schools and coaches could be a lot. You get a million of them and it's hard to filter through and hard to know what's legit, what's not. And if you're going to invest in a camp and go and travel to a camp, you want to make sure that it's worth it and that there's real opportunity there. And I was just talking to a parent, and hopefully this helps you, and we were filtering down their camps to make sure that they're going to the right ones. And a couple things to think about One, reply back to the coach asking if they're in need of your position in your grad class, 'cause not every school's in need of every position each year. So you wanna make sure that they're in need of your position in your grad class. If you have a highlight video, include that in your email, preferably a YouTube link so they can click on it and it's easy for them to watch. And it needs to be short as well. They don't want long highlight videos. And ask for feedback. If you don't get a reply, there's your answer. Right there, right? You don't need to go to the campus, probably blast email. Other things to think about: athletic standards. What are the athletic standards of that school? Does your athlete, or do you, come close to those athletic standards or projecting out, uh, to be? And it depends on your grade, right? Uh, if you're older, you need to be a little bit closer. If you're younger, not as much, but projecting out. And then, uh, academic standards. Of course, can you get into the school? You're close to the academic standards. Geographically, I would recommend staying somewhat local so it's easy for the college coaches to come watch you at your high school games or travel from there. Good luck.

Most families are not missing scholarship money because their athlete is unqualified.

Two families DM’d me this week with the exact opposite problem. Same answer for both. 👇

Thousands of families are on a waitlist for something that does not open for another week.
