Here are 5 underrated D2 schools you should not overlook. If you are a parent trying to help your student athlete play in college, don't miss these schools. Number 5, Georgia College. This is a strong option for families who want a smaller feel, strong academics, and a real Division II athletic experience without chasing massive logos. Number 4, Michigan Tech. This one is not flashy, but if your athlete is serious about academics, especially STEM, engineering, business, or long-term career ROI, this is a hidden gem. Number 3, West Chester in Pennsylvania. Public school value, strong athletics, and a location that gives athletes access to Philadelphia job market after graduation. Number 2, Western Washington. This is one of the most overlooked athletic departments in Division II. Strong academics, strong athletics, and a great overall student athlete experience. For the right fit. And number 1, Augustana in South Dakota. Augustana is one of the schools that does not always get talked about nationally, but when you look at the academics and you look at the athletic success in the campus community, it checks a lot of the boxes. And here is the bigger lesson: stop only chasing the schools everybody already knows, D1s, all those. The best recruiting fit is not always the biggest brands. It is the school where your athlete can play, develop, graduate, actually enjoy the college experience. And if you are looking to get on the radar of these college coaches within the next 30 days, you need to follow a proven plan. My College Recruiting Playbook is open for July.
