Hey, how you doing? Alex here. Thanks for joining me. So we have an important date coming up here in less than a week that's really going to jumpstart this college baseball recruiting process for this year. And that date is March 1st. Why is that important? Because we are getting into the contact period. I'm explaining a little bit about what that means and why that's important. But January and February, which we're in February as of this recording. You might be watching this a little later on, so you just take a look at your calendar. And speaking of that, I'm going to pull up the calendar here. But January and February are a little bit slower for the college recruiting process for a number of different reasons that I'm not going to get into. But where it really starts picking up is March 1st. And if you're listening to this on the podcast, just kind of visualize green, green calendar, which really signifies that we are in the contact period. And we'll be in the contact period all the way through August with some small dates that are red. That is the dead period. We're not going to get into that right now, but we will eventually. But the contact period is important because college coaches can go out and watch high school games, travel games, whatever games it may be. Whereas in February and January and the months before, even then, we were in the quiet period. What does the quiet period mean? They couldn't leave their campus to go watch a game. So somewhere, whether it's in Atlanta or in California or wherever it may be, they could only watch players on their campus. That's why you saw a lot of college camps pop up there, because that's where they could only watch players on their campus at their camps. But now, as of March 1st, as you see on the calendar, if you're watching this on YouTube, we are in that period where college coaches can watch you play. And I wanted to bring this and talk about recruiting for this spring into this summer and kind of recreate Recruiting 101, if you will, going into this time period. And since college coaches can go out and watch you play, you're going to want to let them know where you are. What does that mean? Okay, send out your schedule to these college coaches so they know where you're going to be. So when we're sending out our high school schedule and our summer schedule, we want to update these college coaches on our progress. And if it's your first time reaching out to to them, make sure it's an intro email, of course, but we're going to want to update them as we go because you're going to continue to get better through this college recruiting process in high school, okay? And these college coaches want to know that. They want to stay up with your progress because ultimately they're trying to figure out if you can help their team win more games and ultimately win a college World Series, okay? And these college coaches can't be everywhere. They can't see, see everybody. So the guys that are very proactive in this process and make it easy for these college coaches to recruit them and to see them and evaluate them, it helps your chances more than anything. So when you're sending out your schedule, make sure that you have a good highlight video and you have your progress with them and keep your email and communication short and sweet. These college coaches do not want long paragraphs and want to know your whole life story. The fact of the matter is they don't want that. Okay? I know that that can sometimes be counterintuitive like I need, they need to know who I am. They just want the very important points about you as a player and of course academically as well. Especially if we're going after high academic schools, they're going to want that. So academics and the baseball from a metrics and they're going to want to see you from a physicality side. They're going to want to evaluate your actions and your projectability metrics, of course, in game performance, those are the things that they're going to look at. And again of course your academic side. So make sure you're taking video this spring and summer, okay? So you can clip those and keep the best of the best. If you're a hitter, make sure you're getting video of you hitting in game. If you're a catcher, make sure you're getting video of throwing out runners. If you're a pitcher, obviously make sure that you're getting some innings and only take the very best. Big strikeouts, alright? Fastballs and good breaking balls, all of that stuff. Weak contact strikeouts and video that they can see. You don't want to have video where you know your mom or dad's in like the last stands and you're like you're a little ant on the video. They can't see that, right? They want to see video that they can see and evaluate you as a player and make sure you're tracking your progress with these college coaches and at schools. And if you're looking for a place to do that, you can do that on my app that just released. I'm going to leave a link down below in the description down here, but it's premierathletes app. I have literally all the college coaches and programs all in one place, all in your pocket. You can contact all the coaches super easy but also track your progress there. So a little real quick recap. All right. Contact period starts March 1 and by the time you're watching this, we might already be well into March. Make sure that you're letting the coaches know where you're going to be and where you are as you go through this. Really next 10 months if you will, because we are in the thick of the college recruiting process from now on all the way through December of next year or this year I should say. Okay. So make sure you're doing that. Update them on your progress, highlight video and stay up to date with them. Take video through this spring and summer. Alright, let me know if you have any questions. Comment down below if you want to hear me talk about anything in particular from college recruiting or baseball related topics topics I'd be happy to dive into those and good luck this spring. Take care.
