Most baseball showcases waste your time unless a head coach or recruiting coordinator is actually there and it's a full one- or two-day event with games. Half-day workouts and 60-yard dashes don't give coaches enough time to see what you can do.

Here's the truth about showcases. So you're making sure that you're saving your time, your money and your energy going through this college recruiting process. There's a lot of blind spots here and the truth of the showcases is most of them are not worth going to. And there's two things that you need to look out for to see if it's worth going to. Number one is the college coaches that are going to be there. We want to go to the showcases that the decision makers are there. And who are the decision makers? Either the head coach or the recruiting coordinator. Make sure you look for those type of coaches at the events. If they don't say which coaches are going to be there, that's a big red flag. Okay. And number two is to make sure the showcases are at least a one day or two day event with games. Not just a pro style workout, but with games. If you're going to a half day event or a one day event that doesn't have any games, that is not enough for these college coaches to get a true evaluation of you because you running a 60 and hitting or a short bullpen is not enough.
