Hey, how you doing? Alex here. Thanks for joining me. And in today's video, we're going to be taking a look at five under the radar Division 1 baseball programs that have been doing just an outstanding job over the last few years that you just might not have heard much about and that you should look into and see if it's a good fit for you. But if you're new to my channel, my name is Alex Swinson. I'm a Division I college baseball coach, scout and recruiter. And now what I do is help talented high school baseball athletes go through this college recruiting process and really help them find the best college fit. And before we get into those five schools, I want to show you guys a little bit of my app that's coming out next month that's specifically for high school baseball players going through this college recruiting process and want a good tool and resource to help them along the way. So I want to show you this really real quick. Again, this is releasing next month and you can dive in. This is the home screen of the app. Each and everybody will get a free profile here where you'll be able to share your profile information with college coaches and you'll be able to put in your academics, your athletic information. You'll be able to put your recruiting and highlight video here that's on YouTube or Vimeo. And just a really good place to where you'll be able to share that share profile. You'll also be able to print out a PDF so when you go to a camp or a showcase, you can hand out your PDF to college coaches as well. But that is the profile section. We also have schools which is really good. I'm going to show you guys as far as the school standpoint, we have all the levels. Division 1, Division 2, Division 3, NAI JUCO. Every college baseball program in the country is on this app. This is cool. This is Division 1 mid majors and Power 5 schools here. That gives you just a bird's eye view of all the Division 1 schools in the country. And you can go on and scroll on in and see certain schools, whether it's like Vanderbilt or whatever, just get more information. You could search by conferences, you can see Division 1 Mid Major, my Division 1 Mid Major rankings here as well. And the cool thing about also the conferences, if you're looking at specific conference, you can click on that, see all the schools that are in the conference but also their camps. Right. You can see all the camps websites of the particular schools as well. And going back here we have the Division 1, Division 2, Division 3. Again, the conferences. Nai Juco. You can filter by field of study schools that are things that you may possibly want to study. You can filter by that acceptance rate size. You can see recent commitments that have happened and filtered that throughout the schools. And just taking you back to the home screen on top of that, finding a good school is biggest part of what I do is helping you find that is discovering your college math. So you could select this and answer five questions. As far as simple questions going to take you less than a minute, that is going to help kind of narrow down some schools for you. And you can change the answers to these to have filtered out schools. But the five questions are what program levels are you looking for? You could say division one, and this is just an example. What size school do you see yourself at? Maybe you say mid size, or it could be small, or it could be big. And what particular region of the country are you looking? We'll just use Southeast and Midwest. Is this example what admissions policy or acceptance rate best reflects your academics? We'll say moderately selective is what we're looking for. Let's talk finances. I'm going to just select show all for that one. And then I'm going to hit the click check button and then it's going to update and populate these schools for me based off the answers that I gave that we could look into and we could add to our school list if we want to. And we could just scroll down and see we have Wake Forest right here. Really good school, Also really good baseball program. And every school has a profile like this, a profile page where it's their school website, the baseball questionnaire, their baseball website, their coaches information on the site, their camp website, Twitter and Instagram. All the coaches here, right here. And you can click on that, get their Twitter, get their email, you can contact all the college coaches. One click brings you over to your personal email, which is important. Going through that school information, you can save it to your school list by just clicking this button. You can see the commitments in the class who they've verbally committed from the 23s all the way to the 24s. Their position, which is important, you can compare it to your position. So if you're a catcher and they already have two or three catchers, it might not be a good idea because they're probably full from that standpoint, they already have two or three catchers in the class. So there's that. As far as schools and helping you find schools, these are meeting links and things like that. If you want to work with me on a personal, more personal level, you can go on and take a. We can schedule a call and we can talk more about that. But from the app aspect of it, we have the resources where I've put in a recruiting university is what I call it. It's just a course that walks you step by step through this process and really put you in the best possible position if you follow this to play at the next level. So I have videos of that, good videos here that are short, impactful videos but also developmental tools, ARM care, long toss program, exit velocity, tracking your emails from your personal email, seeing what coaches are clicking on college school list, video checklists, NCAA eligibility, top showcases and camps all right here. Past meeting links. Again, if you want a more of a personal touch on that end. But this is the app that's coming in the next month or so, so let me know if you're interested. But without further ado, let's get into the top five schools that are under the radar. Let's dive in. So you might have saw my video a couple weeks ago of the top 15 Division 1 mid major programs and most of those are under the radar. And if you haven't checked that out, go back and watch that video after this one. But these schools are not in their top 15 so you wouldn't have seen them there. But they're in my top 25 and my top 50 that are going to be on the app. But I just want to highlight these schools again so you guys can know about them because there's so many schools out there that are great universities and great baseball programs like the Vanderbilts of the world, UCLA's of the world, Texas and Floridas. But these get kind of overshadowed, which are just great programs with great coaching staff that I want you guys to pay attention to and to look into. So let's go over the first one and these are only five. I have a lot more of these that I will release here over the next few months, especially as we get into the college baseball season, which starts in February by the way. But let's go on and start with number one. Number one is Georgia Southern. Their 2022 record, they went 41 in 20 and was a national season. They were number 16. I might be wrong about that, but I'm almost positive that that is that. So correct me down below if that is not the case. But they were the 16 seed going into the regionals so that means they hosted the regionals as they make their way to the College World Series or attempted to get to the College World Series. The conference is in the Sun Belt. Coach Henan is the head coach. Notable wins in 2022 were against Georgia, Georgia Techs and Texas State who also had an outstanding year. Texas State, but big wins there, that is number one. Number two is Davidson College. Not many people have heard of Davidson, but they are an outstanding academic institution as well. But have just been killing it over these last few years with coach Taylor taking over. The last few years he took over and he's been doing a great job with that program. He's 43 and 13 last year. They're in the 8 10. Notable wins last year they Bryant, Richmond and Columbia, all really good programs. They just missed getting into the regionals. They didn't win their conference championship. If you win your conference championship, you automatically get a bid into. They lost and they got kind of straight stooped honestly in my opinion of not getting a bid into the 64. But again, definitely an under the radar team here. Number three, Southern Illinois University. They went 44 in 16th. Their conference is the Valley. Coach Rhodes over there is doing a fantastic job with them. I mean they're probably one of the most underrated schools just because of the location in the Midwest, but really, really playing really, really good baseball there. Notable wins last year against Dallas Baptist, a top five mid major program in Missouri State. I mean they're just outstanding year in, year out as well. So really notable wins there. Number four, UNC Charlotte went 36, 22 in a conference that is just super demanding at the mid major level. Conference USA I would consider one of the best best conferences in as far as the mid major level. Coach Woodard over there again, he recently took over the last few years and doing a great job. Notable win South Carolina, Coastal Carolina in Old Dominion last year. Definitely check those guys out. The 49ers if you will. Then we have Cal State Sacramento. They went 32 and 26. Not the greatest of years with them, but over the past like three or four years they've done a great, really good job. I think in 2019 before COVID hit, they had like a 42, 43 somewhere around there. Win season again, just doing a really good job there. Coach Christensen is is outstanding over there. Notable wins they swept Long beach, which is a team that's really hard to beat and sweep, let alone it's hard to sweep any team. Sam Houston and California Baptist, so check them out. So we got all the way from the west coast to the east coast of schools that are definitely under the radar, and that can beat really anybody. So check these schools out again. If you got anything from this video, please smash that, like, button that thumbs up, and I will see you in the next video. Have a great day.
