What does a D1 hitter look like, especially for my high school guys that are trying to get to the next level? You could also think about it as what are D1 coaches looking for in a high school hitter? And coming From a former D1 college coach, Scout and recruiter, these are the things that I would look for. Now, the thing is, there's four type of hitters, and let's go over them real quick. And it's important to understand who you are as a hitter because you can fall into traps of trying to be somebody that you're not. I fell into that trap. And if you really kind of settle into who you are, man, you are going to get the most out of your ability and get your job done and what you need to do. So number one is bombers. And these are in no particular order. Bombers are gap to gap home run guys, typically on the corners, first and third base. And then number two, you have hitters. These are typically your best hitters. High average, singles, doubles, you know, guys that get on base a lot. Again, your best hitters, usually shortstop, middle, infielders, center fielders. Sometimes there can be corners, mixture. Of course, you can be all different types of positions. And then you have three dirt bags. This is who I was. These are super reliable guys. Might not have the highest average. I didn't have like the highest average on all my teams, but I was really reliable. Hit and run guy got the guy in, you know, would hit singles and doubles and run into one every once in a while. So that is dirt bags, all right? Number four is speedsters. Guys that are just create havoc. All right? You know, those guys are super fast. They put pressure on the infield, bunt, get on base, all of those things. But the two consistent things that these D1 hitters have going through is they consistently hit the ball hard. Don't be so worried about your exit velocity. This is the most overrated thing we see in baseball. I much rather have a guy that has a 90 exit velocity than a guy that has a hundred exit velocity that barely hits the ball. It's very inconsistent. Okay. And is overly aggressive striking out all of the time. And number two is they are selectively aggressive in the zone that is big and helps them be consistently hitting the ball hard as we go through this. And then also, college coaches love this. Stepping in the box with a lot of confidence. Pitchers hate that. All right, Pitchers hate. They'd much rather have a guy step in that's super tentative, which is, funny enough, college coaches don't like that step in there with a lot of conferences looking to do damage.
