What is the transfer portal?

Hey, Alex here. Happy New Year. I want to talk about the transfer portal and what that is. It's for college athletes that want to leave their current school that they committed to and that they're playing at for another school. They're able to do that only one time in their college career without penalty. In the past, they would have a penalty. They would have to sit out a full year and lose a year of eligibility. It would really prevent student athletes from transfer. Now they can transfer. Has it affected recruiting as absolutely 100%. But this is an interesting stat and why you want to take recruiting seriously and why you want to take your search seriously. Only 43% of the kids that entered the transfer portal, which in 2021 it was 2,136, only 43% found a new NCAA home. So take your search, take your recruiting seriously.
