Alex Swenson (YouTube video) explains what the NCAA "quiet period" means for baseball recruits: despite the name, college coaches may still contact eligible recruits via phone, text, and email and may recruit in person only on their own campus. Coaches are prohibited from recruiting, watching, or having in-person contact with recruits off their campus during the quiet period, so recruits should not expect coaches at off-campus showcases or tournaments; instead, on-campus visits, camps, and electronic contact are the primary recruitment opportunities during this time.
