Alex Swenson, a former Division I coach and recruiter, explains what happens when a college coach invites you for a campus visit. Unofficial visits are common, but most families target official visits where offers typically get extended. Expect a tour of athletic facilities and academic spaces, ending in the head coach's office where an offer may come.

When a college coach invites you on a visit, here's exactly what to expect. They don't invite everybody. This is real interest. I've done hundreds of college visits before, and I'm Coach Alex, a former D1 coach, scout, and recruiter. And this is usually an unofficial visit or an official visit, and most families want an official visit— like, that's when offers happen. But most unofficial visits, you can get offers, and families Certainly do. All right, the coach invites you. Parents are definitely welcome. Just make sure you dress the part. Nothing crazy, but be respectful. You'll typically meet them on campus. They'll show you around the athletic facilities, the field, the court, the locker room, the cafeteria, the perks that the program actually has, and then campus life like classrooms and dorms. They usually finish in the head coach's office, that's often where the offer comes. That's super exciting. But if there's still time in the recruiting process and you want to see what else is out there, how you respond to that offer really matters. That's the next video. Give me a follow if you want to see that. I'll see you soon.
