A former Division I coach explains what a campus visit invitation means: coaches extend offers on 60-70% of them. Dress in slacks and a button-up, expect a tour of facilities and academics, and a meeting with the head coach. No immediate offer doesn't mean no.

When a college coach invites you on a campus visit, here's exactly what to expect. This is a big deal because this is a strong sign of interest. As a former D1 coach, scout, and recruiter, when we invited athletes on campus to give them a tour and show them all around, we are expressing a lot of interest. We're pulling out the red carpet for them. So take this seriously. Make sure you dress the part. You don't gotta be in a suit and tie, but slacks and a button-up and your parents. Can definitely come with you and ask questions. The coaches expect that. So once you go there, you're gonna meet them usually at their athletic facility. They're gonna show you around the athletics facility from the locker room to the field or the court. They're gonna show you the academic side of things. They're gonna take you to classes. They're gonna walk you around campus. And then typically they will bring you into the head coach's office where they will talk to you. And for us, and talking with college coaches, I talk to college coaches on a weekly basis, usually around 60 to 70% of the time they will offer you on those visits. If they don't offer you, that is okay. They might just need to see you one or two more times. But again, you are high on their board. If you're looking for more of a playbook to get to a college visit and get offers, comment pro down below and I'll send you a personalized playbook.
