Alex Swenson (creator/uploader) speaks in a short YouTube clip advising viewers to use summer travel or recruiting events to visit local colleges. He recommends getting a feel for campuses and athletic facilities, and suggests considering a range of school levels (Division 1, 2, 3, and junior colleges), including starting with nearby institutions to evaluate fit.

Hey, this summer, when you're going to recruiting events or you're just traveling in general, maybe you're going on vacation or whatever it may be, go check out some local colleges in that area, get a feel for their campus, get a feel for their athletic facilities, and you can even start locally with schools around you. There's going to be plenty of schools around you where you could start with Division 1 schools, Division 2 schools, Division 3 schools, even junior college, because again, you're going to want to get a feel of the campus to see if you could see yourself there.
