Your athlete just got a college offer. Congratulations! Now here's the part nobody prepares you for. What they say in the next 60 seconds matters almost as much as the offer itself. If you're new here, I'm Coach Alex, a former D1 coach, scout, and recruiter. Now I help high school athletes and their families get to college. Over 1,000 helped so far, and most of the athletes who come through my program get offers. So I've coached this moment more times than I can count. When When an offer comes, your athlete is in one of 3 spots. One, it's the dream school and you all are ready that you accept on the spot, it's super easy. 2, you all are interested, but this is a big decision and you want time to think it through as a family. And 3, they have other schools in the mix and want to see what else is out there. Situation 2 and 3 are where most athletes can fumble it. So here's exactly how to respond when you need time. Lead with respect. Say, hey coach, thank you so much for your interest. and your confidence in me. I'm highly interested in your program. This is an important decision for me and my family. I have some prior commitments with other schools coming up. Would it be okay if I made my decision by the end of X, or whatever specific time you're comfortable with? Then stop talking, let the coach answer. And here's the other pro move: ask them, hey coach, is there a certain time that you need to know by? I want to be respectful of That too. And then close out, thank you again. I'm very interested. I just want to make the right decision. Respectful, honest, confident. Coaches respect that, and it keeps the offer warm. Now, knowing what to say when the offer comes is one thing. Getting to the offer is the other. If you want clarity and direction on the whole process, my Recruit Ready Challenge is coming soon. Comment recruit, and I'll put you on the waitlist. Talk soon.

Most families are not missing scholarship money because their athlete is unqualified.

Two families DM’d me this week with the exact opposite problem. Same answer for both. 👇

Thousands of families are on a waitlist for something that does not open for another week.
