Money Mastery Milestones (So You Never Have To Go Broke Again)

In this 12‑minute training, Rick Pino (Get Wisdom) outlines a seven‑milestone framework for mastering personal finance and escaping the "broke‑mindset." He begins by emphasizing that money, like any game, rewards those who understand and play its rules, urging listeners to adopt ownership and reject victimhood. The first milestone stresses taking full responsibility for one’s current income, financial education, and future. The second teaches that money flows to market‑valued solutions, not to time or effort, and that increasing value—by solving bigger problems, serving more people, and deepening specialized knowledge—drives higher earnings. The third milestone explains how to use earned income to acquire income‑producing assets (skills, systems, businesses, cash‑flowing investments) and then use the asset cash flow to fund liabilities. The fourth milestone advocates “pay yourself first” by allocating 10‑20% of income to investments and savings, building discipline, capital, and a safety net. The fifth milestone details the "little‑known skills of the wealthy": tax strategies (e.g., the Augusta Rule), leveraging good debt, credit management, risk assessment, contract literacy, and negotiation. The sixth milestone focuses on stewardship—living below one’s means, avoiding bad debt, insuring assets, building emergency funds, and making long‑term decisions. The seventh milestone ties the previous steps together, urging mastery of the three M’s: making, managing, and multiplying money, and scaling wealth through continual reinvestment. Throughout, Pino blends personal anecdotes, biblical references, and interactive prompts to motivate the audience to adopt these habits incrementally, emphasizing that skills compound and that disciplined, step‑by‑step progress leads to financial freedom.

What's up everybody? It's Rick Pino here from Get Wisdom. What if there was a way to actually master the game of money instead of money mastering you? I always say it like this. If you don't learn how to play the game, the game is playing you. And the same thing goes for your money, for your income. Okay? In today's training, I'm going to be giving you the 7 milestones of how to master money so that your money can start working harder for you than you work for it. If that sounds interesting, stay tuned. And let's get right on in. Broke-minded people, they are working hard for money. But wealthy-minded people, we have money work hard for us. How is this possible? Because in today's training, I'm going to share with you exactly how this is possible. You have to understand there are different milestones that allow you to master money. And the punchline is, is if you don't master money, money will master you. It's like I say all the time, if you don't learn how to play the game, then the game is playing you. The same thing goes for money, for your finances, for your income, okay? So with that being said, guys, let's jump right on in. I want to start off the training by asking you a very important question, okay? This $100 bill right here, okay? Here's my question to you. What does this $100 bill think of you? Let me know down in the comments. What does this $100 bill think of you? Let me know down in the comments. What does that $100 bill think of you? Let's get this thing working here, there we go. Someone said nada. Somebody said nothing. Exactly, right? If you're taking notes, write it down like this. Money isn't just something that happens to you. Money flows to those who know how to play the money game. So many times people are like, well, you know, like, I don't know, blah, blah, blah. And they don't understand how this works. This right here is no respecter of persons. All this money does is flow to people who know how this works. That's it. This money right here has no opinion of you. It has no opinion of me. But the way that this works is the money flows to those who know how to play the money game. So do you think it's a good idea? Yes or yes to learn how to play the money game? Which one? Shout yes in the comments. Yes, yes, yes. Of course, right? Real quick, today's training is brought to you by my upcoming 5-Day Create and Sell Digital Products Challenge, where I'm going to show you how to monetize your knowledge so that you can start getting paid for what you know. Money comes to those who take responsibility. Now, is this true or is this true? Which one? Right? Have you ever met somebody who they don't take responsibility for anything in life, especially their financial situation? Like, I have news for you, okay? Your current financial situation is your responsibility. The reason why you are here is because of you. But the reason how you're going to get to where you desire is also up to you, right? But you, in order to, to have any kind of breakthrough— thank you, Rome— in order to have any kind of breakthrough or success in your finances, first and foremost, you need to understand that this bad boy right here is only going to flow. It's only going to come to those who take responsibility. Somebody in the comments shout responsibility. Okay. What does it mean to take responsibility for your financial situation? It means you need to start taking ownership. You need to start taking ownership of where you are right now in your finances and where you would desire to be. Okay, so with that being said, ownership means— what does ownership mean? Ownership means, number one, you're responsible for your current income level. Right? Somebody shout yes in the comments. Yes. If you take ownership, if you take responsibility, then you know I am responsible for my current income level. Number 2, ownership also means you are responsible, responsible, there we go. You are also responsible for your financial education. I'm telling you guys and gals this right now. One of the main reasons why so many people stay broke and they stay struggling in their finances is because they are financially illiterate. I talk about this from time to time, but there is a big difference between having a little bit of literacy and becoming fluent in a language. For instance, when I was in high school, I'm trying not to crack myself up and laugh at myself too much because believe it or not, when I was in high school, I took a Japanese class. And yes, hey, genki desu, oh yes, doko kara desu ka? So here's the punchline. What am I saying? Why am I talking about a Japanese class? Because I know about like 14 words in Japanese, I'm more literate than someone who knows zero words, but am I fluent? No, gosh no. I am not fluent in Japanese whatsoever. And the interesting part about this is that the more literate you become, the more educated you become, the more you can speak the language. Somebody in the comments shout, "Speak the language." The more literate you become, the more you can speak the language and the more The more fluent you become in the language, the more you can begin to understand what's going on. And one of the main reasons why so many people stay broke and struggling in their finances is because most people don't know what the heck is going on with money. They don't know how money works. They don't know how credit works. They don't know how taxes work. They don't know how, you know, the difference between good debt and bad debt. They don't understand credit scores. They don't understand terms. They're just like, well, I don't know, whatever. And it's like, well, duh, no wonder why you can't win. Like, how many of y'all know you can't win a game that if you don't know how the rules work? Like, are you going to accidentally win the game of money and you don't even know how the game of money is played? You don't even know how the rules work and you're like, so I'm gonna, God's gonna release supernatural blah, blah, blah. No, he's not. No, he's not. You've got to learn the rules of the game if you desire to learn how to win the game. And one of the best ways to do this, take responsibility, take ownership, understand you're responsible for your current level of income. You're responsible for your financial education. Also, ownership means, this is a big one, guys, you're responsible for your financial future. One of the most dangerous, one of the most foolish, One of the most thoughtless things that you could do is just be like, well, I don't know how my financial future is gonna look, but somehow, some way, God's gonna work it all out. Really? How's that going for people with that mindset, with that attitude of like, well, God's gonna fix it all for me somehow, some way, woo-hoo. And they're still struggling. I'm not throwing any shade on this, but there's a reason why, like when you go to a Walmart, And gosh, it breaks my heart every single time. Like, you walk in and there's like a 75-year-old woman working at the front or a 75-year-old man at the front checking receipts because they didn't learn the money game. And so now they still have to work like at Walmart or whatever it is into their 70s and 80s. Like, oh my gosh, man, don't for a second fool yourself to believe, well, somehow, some way it's gonna work out and God's good and I don't know, but maybe, I don't know. Serious? Like, that's not, it's like saying like, well, I'm extremely out of shape, but somehow, some way I'm not gonna make any changes, I'm not gonna learn how any of this works, but somehow, some way I'm gonna get in, I'm gonna be healthy. No, that's not how this works. Rome, the notes changed. That's not how this works, guys. That's not how this works. You have got to understand that you are responsible. Money comes to those who take responsibility. Money comes to those who take ownership. Money comes to those who understand they're responsible for their current level, financial level. You're responsible for your financial education. You're responsible for your own financial future. Okay, so why am I saying all this, guys? Number 1, the very first milestone when it comes to money mastery is you've got to understand this. If you're taking notes, write it down like this. This is the mindset. This is the mindset for money mastery. Okay, this is the foundational piece to master money. And it's this: no victim mindset. No excuses. Only ownership and responsibility. That's it. Every single one of us can be like, well, I didn't come from much and blah blah. You wanna hear a sob story? My parents and I, No one taught my parents the financial literacy game at all. No one taught them about taxes. No one taught them about credit. So me and my family of 5, we grew up in a 1-bedroom apartment in the ghetto, in the projects, roaches crawling all over us as a kid while we're sleeping, standing in the line for handout, hoping that they're going to have enough bread and soup at the soup kitchen to like feed our family, not knowing where the next meal is coming from. Mom is working 2 jobs, dad's working 3 jobs, dad's working at 7-Eleven, Blockbuster, and then random side hustles. Like, yes, I understand what it feels like to come from nothing, right? I understand we can all crutch on our past or we can all take responsibility for our own situation. And you cannot get healing in something that you don't take responsibility for. Okay? Are y'all tracking? Shout yes in the comments if y'all are tracking. So the very first milestone when it comes to mastering money is number 1, you have to understand money comes to those who take responsibility. If you're ready for number 2, drop a 2 in the chat. Second milestone, okay? This is very important. I teach you guys this all the time, but let's go through this again in a new way with a new lens on today. And the second milestone of money mastery is this, money always flows Money always flows to value, not more time and not more effort. Like, I wish, I wish, I wish, I wish I could have really grasped this 10 years ago, 15 years ago, 20 years ago when I was starting out in my journey. Because if I truly understood this, I would be able to be 10 times further ahead than I am right now. See, because so many of us, how many of y'all know that the education system doesn't teach us how to become financially free? The education system teaches us how to become workers. And I'm not against education. I just think that shouldn't somewhere, somehow, some way in the education system, shouldn't they teach you about how to manage a checkbook? Shouldn't they teach you about taxes? Shouldn't they teach you about things that actually matter like how to get your credit score higher, et cetera? Of course they should, but why don't they teach us? Because they don't desire for you to be financially free. They desire for you to be a slave of the system from now until death do you part. Literally. Literally. I'm keeping it real with y'all. So if you desire to master the game of money and you want to really go down that path, the second thing you need to understand is money always flows to value. And let me just make a point on this, okay? The value that money flows to is not something that you think is valuable. "Well, brother, I've got the craziest story. I'm gonna write a book about my life story." Listen up, no one cares about your life story. You do, your grandma does, no one cares about my life story, okay? What do people care about? People care about themselves, bruh. People care about themselves. So you can't just be like, "Wow, this means a lot to me. How come there's no money flowing to me?" Because it's only valuable to you. When you begin to understand money flows to value, and what I mean by value is valuable to the market. No, I'm not saying that, please hear me on this, okay? Every single one of us as a human soul created in the likeness and the image of God, all of us have intrinsic value as a human soul, duh. I'm not talking about that. Yes, you are valuable, okay? I'm talking about the value that you can bring to other people in the form of solving problems for them. That's where money flows to. Money flows to where value is. So don't for a second think like, man, I just, man, if I could just put more time, if I could just put more effort. Money doesn't flow to time and effort. If it did, then the construction workers, then the hotel maids, then the dishwashers at the restaurant, they would all be the wealthiest people in the world. But they're not. Why? Because money doesn't flow to time and effort. Money flows to value. Okay? If you're taking notes, write it down like this. Income only increases by increasing value. Value, not by increasing effort. I'm gonna say that again. Income only increases by increasing value, not by increasing effort. Okay? So the question is, that you should be asking yourself is, how can I increase the value I bring to the market? Let me ask by a show of hands, How many of you here desire to make 6 figures this year in your digital product business? Wave at me on the screen like this. Anyone here? Yes. How many of you here desire to make 7 figures in your digital product business this year? Wave at me on the screen like this. Then it's very simple. All you need to do is figure out how can I bring at least 6 figures worth of value to the market? It's very simple. Then all you have to do is figure out how can I bring at least 7 figures worth of value to the market? Because if you bring 6 figures worth of value to the market, the market will absolutely pay you 6 figures. If you bring 7 figures worth of value to the market, the market will absolutely bring you 7 figures and on and on and on and on. If you bring $20,000 worth of value to the market, the market's going to pay you $20,000. If you bring $75,000 of value to the market, the market's going to pay you $75,000 and on and on. And are y'all seeing this? Shout yes in the comments if you guys are getting this. Income only increases by the increase of value, not by the increase of effort. Okay. So what is this value? What is this value that we're talking about? Right. So if money only flows to value, what is this value that we're talking about? I'm glad you asked. The first thing it is, number one, how can we increase this value? You can solve bigger problems. Let me ask you a question, and it's not a trick question. Who is bringing more value to the market? The person who, when you stub your toe, has a nice little Band-Aid for your boo-boo, Or the person who you have emergency brain surgery and if you don't get this surgery done in the next 24 hours, you are gone? It's not a trick question. It's the person who can solve the bigger problem. Guess what? They're always going to be paid more. Period. So if you desire to see money flow to you, you've got to increase the value. So number 1, how you gonna do it? Solve a bigger problem. Number 2, how else can you increase the value? Serve more people. I know it's rocket science. Actually, it's not rocket science at all. It's common sense. If you can solve bigger problems for a bigger number of people, guess what's gonna happen? You will have no issue getting paid. Period. Why am I always trying to harp on you guys? I'm always pushing you, I'm always coaching you, I'm always encouraging you. To put your voice out there. Jesus said, my sheep know my voice. I say your sheep will know your voice, but they can't if you don't put your voice out there. Every person who a few moments ago was like, I desire to make at least 6 figures or 7 figures in my business this year, and you're not putting value out into the market, you're a little bit on the delusional side. Delulu. Why? Because if you desire to make 7 figures, you have to be putting 7 figures worth of value into the market. Are y'all seeing this? Are y'all seeing this? Right? Like, it's actually very simple. If you're willing to put value to the market, the market will pay you back in value in the form of dollar signs. Bing! Right there. Okay? So how do we grow this value? Number 1, solve bigger problems. Number 2, serve more people. Number 3, watch this one. Grow in specialized knowledge. Kind of like what you're doing with digital products, kind of like what you're doing with digital marketing, kind of like what you're doing in funnel building, et cetera, et cetera. Can I tell y'all a story? Wave 'em at the screen like this if I could tell y'all a story. Check this out, okay? We have a student here, inside of Digital Product Academy, and when she first came in, I don't think she would mind 'cause she's told it publicly here before, when she first joined the academy, her offer was around teaching families how to get started with homeschooling. And she did really good, in fact she got on and she was like, yo, it's actually working. She built out her course, she built out her funnels, and she went to her mom's birthday party, I believe it was, and she was actually starting to, sell her digital products on autopilot. And she got in, she's like, I'm so excited. I had my first taste of residual income. This is insane, of passive income. Wow. But guess what? Now, because she learned so many skills on the back end of learning how to build funnels and learning how to build courses, et cetera, she took those skills and now she doesn't serve primarily as teaching people how to get started with homeschooling. Now she has an agency where she does digital marketing and funnel building for people. What? And she makes way more doing that. Money always flows to value. How are you gonna grow in value? Solve bigger problems, serve more people, grow in specialized knowledge, and lastly, here's the cool part here, another way you can do this is learn how to package package your expertise, learn how to package your expertise into scalable offers. Now, one reason why I'm extremely excited for those who just went on the journey with us in the Launch Pad Accelerator is because I literally sat down with every person in there and we built out like mind-blowing offers with each and every one of them. And you even heard it here, I think it was yesterday or the day before, JP got on, he was like, dude, it was the best money I ever spent in my life. Like, what? I'm telling you guys, when you can learn how to do these things, solve bigger problems, serve more people, grow in specialized knowledge, and then package your expertise into scalable offers, it's over with. Somebody in the comments shout, it's over with. It's over with, man. The game changes. When you stop selling time and start selling results. The game changes, the game of money changes for you when you stop trying to sell more time, you start selling results, you sell expertise, you sell leverage, and you sell transformation. Period. That's it. Okay? So the third milestone in the Mastery of money. If you guys are ready, drop a 3 in the chat if you guys are ready. The 3rd milestone when it comes to mastering money is you've got to learn now how to use earned income to purchase assets. You got to learn how to use earned income to purchase assets And then watch this. Use the income from the assets to purchase, you guessed it, your liabilities. All right? So if you are new here and you've never heard this before, if you're taking notes, write it down like this. Assets will feed you, but liabilities will bleed you. And one of the main reasons why so many people stay broke is because number one, they don't understand the difference between an asset or a liability, okay? Number two, most people use their earned income to purchase liabilities, which is one of the biggest mistakes you could ever make, okay? What you should do instead is use your earned income to purchase income-producing assets. And then the income that comes from your assets, use that money to purchase the liabilities, okay? So for instance, number 1, use your job or your business to build those assets, okay? The income that comes from your job or from your business, use that income to build or buy assets, okay? Now that you've purchased assets with your earned income, the assets now produce cash flow. Somebody in the comments shout cash flow. Okay, let me, let me make a little diagram here on the board. Okay. So right here you've got your job or your business. You use this income to purchase assets. And let's just take a moment here. What's an asset? An asset is a purchase that you, that you make that can make you money. One of the most incredible assets you can purchase, especially before you have at least $100,000 saved, is to invest into the SME 500. Invest into your education, invest into your skills, invest into your knowledge, invest into yourself. My wife and I, when we first got started in this journey, Okay? Every single dime that would come in, we would literally go and hire another coach, hire another mentor, purchase another system. We'd learn the game over and over and over up until the point now where I have 6 different business mentors right now myself. And I invest multiple, multiple, multiple 6 figures per year in my own coaches, in my own mentors. And a lot of people would see that and be like, oh my gosh, like you're investing multiple six figures per year? Yes, per year. Why? I've literally had people before, specific family members like, you could buy a house with that. I could, but guess what? Instead of buying a house, I bought wisdom. That's Proverbs 23:23, by the way. I purchased wisdom and all of the knowledge and skills and wisdom that I've developed I'm literally now able to— what I invest every single year, I can literally make in a day. I can literally make 6 figures in a day. It happens all the time. Yesterday, for instance, one of my businesses did— one of my businesses yesterday did multiple, multiple, multiple, multiple 6 figures in one single day. I'm not saying that to brag. I'm saying that when you understand one of the greatest assets that you can purchase is to invest into your knowledge, into your wisdom, into your skills, That's the best way to do it. And then, okay, now that you've purchased, you've used your active income to purchase assets, the assets that are producing income for you, then you use these to purchase your liabilities. What are the liabilities? Liabilities are things that don't make you money, right? Liabilities are like your, your groceries, your rent, your whatever, this and that and this and that and this and that, whatever. Okay, so someone said, what business was it? I have a car company on the side. I never talk about it here, but I have a car company and the car company's going amazing and we're gonna do a lot this year. We're gonna do a lot, I'll just put it there, okay? Anyways, but there's levels to this game, man. And here's what I'm always trying to tell you, okay? The reason why it's so important to sharpen your ax is because the sharper your ax gets, Ecclesiastes 10:10, when the ax is dull, right, it's harder to chop down the tree. But wisdom or skill brings much success. When you have skill, when you have wisdom, making money or chopping down the tree, it gets so easy, bro. It's so easy, right? Anyways, With all this being said, okay, number 3, use your earned income to purchase assets and then use the income from your assets to produce your liabilities. Okay. Making sense? Somebody shout yes in the comments. Okay. Let me give you guys a very quick example of what are some of these assets. Okay. Number 1, what are some of these assets that you can purchase? I'm glad you asked. Number 1, you can purchase skills. Or wisdom. This is the best asset you can purchase. Number 2, what else? You can purchase systems, right? I love hiring coaches and mentors 'cause then I get not only their mentorship, I get their systems, right? Number 3, you can purchase businesses, right? Number 4, you can purchase things like cash-flowing assets. Okay, what's a cash-flowing asset? A cash-flowing asset could be a digital product that you could create. It could be intellectual property. It could be private equity. Like my wife and I, we have a big stake in private equity. Basically, we're a bank and we loan out our liquid to other businesses, etc. And because we're in private equity, we make so much from the private equity that we have from the dividends in our private equity investments it pays for like all of our bills. Like if I didn't wake up, if I just decided, eh, I'm not working today, all my bills are paid because of all the cash flow that's coming in from my assets, right? All kinds of stuff. Another one, obviously you can purchase real estate. By the way, real estate is more of a slow burn. It's not a fast burn unless you get into wholesaling or flipping houses, etc., or the BRRRR method, etc. It just takes a ton of effort to make a little bit of money. Like you have to do 3 months of work to make $20K, I would rather just, you know, build my skills and learn how to sell something valuable to somebody and I could make $20K here, $20K there, $20K there, $20K there in one single pop in a day. And that's what I do, okay? Anyways, with that being said, guys, you win when your money starts working harder than you do. If you're taking notes, write it down. You win when your money starts working harder than you do. How are you going to do this? You're going to use your earned income to purchase assets, and then you're going to use the income from your assets to purchase your liabilities. Y'all getting it? Drop a 4 in the chat if you guys are ready for number 4. The 4th milestone when it comes to mastering money Okay? This is a big one. This is a big one. Always pay yourself first. Always pay yourself first. Before bills, before your lifestyle, before your spending, okay? You should be paying yourself first. What does that mean? For me, I like to take whatever I have coming in and I pay myself first, not by giving myself a paycheck. That's a bill. I pay myself first by investing anywhere from 10% to 20% of all my income into investments. And then after I max my investments out, then I'll put a little bit into savings just as a little bit of a nest egg. That's paying yourself first. I'm not talking about your paycheck. I'm not talking about your payroll. I'm talking about, or like, oh, Rick said to pay myself first, so I'm going to splurge on this new pair of shoes. I'm not saying that. I'm saying pay yourself first by putting into your own financial future, investing, a little bit of saving, right? Like, so many people don't understand this part, right? Why is this so important? Because number one, this builds discipline. Actually, write it down. Why is paying yourself first so important? Because number one, it builds discipline. Okay, it builds discipline. Number two, it builds capital. Well, shoot, how is Rick able to do this? The stuff that he said with private equity or whatever that is? Because I had capital to do it because I had the liquid to be able to do it. Right. So whenever you pay yourself first, you build discipline, you build your capital. And I love this part. You build safety. You have a little bit of a safety net. I can't tell y'all how many times over the past 10 years, thank God, the Bible says consider the ant, right? And why should we consider the ant? And I teach about this from time to time here, but ants are always thinking it's winter even in the summer. What does that mean? It means even when things are going good, like most— here's— it's classic, right? Most people, because they don't understand this concept of pay yourself first and they don't understand the concept of you got to be thinking winter even in the summer, most people are like, well, I got plenty coming in. I'm just going to overspend. I'm just going to treat myself. Uh-uh. Like when things are going good, that's when I'm stashing away even more, bro. That's when I'm working on the discipline even more. That's when I'm stacking even more capital. That's when I'm stacking even more in a safety net. Why? Because guess what, baby? Winter's coming. Winter is coming and winter always comes. It's never summer forever. It's never winter forever, but it's never winter and summer at the same time. I don't know about y'all, but I lived, I went around this sun 40 different times and I learned something about a little bit, living a little bit of life. Winter is coming. And if you are not prepared for winter, especially in the summer, whenever the going's getting good, you're going to be in trouble. Right. So why should you pay yourself first? Because it builds discipline. It builds capital. It builds safety. Okay. Become someone who keeps the money, not just earns it. I remember at the beginning of my journey, like, I remember I was like, I felt very comfortable in the ability to earn money, but in the early stages before my financial literacy grew, I didn't know anything about keeping it. I was so scared of like, man, I could make $100K right now, but I don't know what to do with it. I don't know how to multiply it. I don't know how to manage it. I can make it, but I don't know how else to do it. You gotta increase this, man. You gotta increase the milestones so you can master the money. All right, speaking of which, if you're ready for number 5, drop a 5 in the chat. Ooh, this one's so good. The 5th milestone of mastering money is this: you must master— and I'm going to underline the word master— you must master the little-known skills of the wealthy. What does that mean? You must master the little-known skills of the wealthy. What is that? Remember what I taught you guys a little bit earlier? Rich people, wealthy people, we're not just financially literate, we are financially fluent. Right? We can speak the language. And the better you can speak the language, the more understanding you have of what's going on in the conversation. Right? So what are these little-known skills of the wealthy? I'm glad you asked. They are skills like taxes. For instance, I'm going to give y'all just a quick little nugget of wisdom here. If you have an LLC, one of the easiest ways that you can save on your taxes and put even more money into your pocket every single year is a little thing called the Augusta Rule. Has anyone here ever heard about the Augusta Rule? If you don't know what that is, y'all better go get to ChatGPTing. What does that mean? It means literally you can rent your house to your business for up to 14 days per year and you can charge yourself. You can charge your business and pay for yourself, and whatever you charge your business to pay for yourself, it's free income for you. What? Did anyone know that? Some of you guys are like, yeah, kind of. There's so many little things like that, okay, in the system to where if you can play all these little things and master the game, like, it's absolutely wild, right? So what are some of the little-known skills of the wealthy? Number 1, you got to learn the tax game. Number 2, you have got to learn how to use leverage or good debt. I know there's a ton of people like, oh, I'm not going to get into any debt. Can I tell y'all what? Every single wealthy person on this planet, even people who their whole entire business is based off of teaching people how to get out of debt, and they even cut credit cards on the screen, even that person, they all use debt. Even the person's like, they, they get people on their show, we're debt-free, that's awesome. How come you still using debt though? Well, you know, I mean, don't, don't do what I do, just do what I say. Serious? Because wealthy people understand if you can borrow money, let's just do quick math here, okay? If you could borrow money, let's just use round numbers, okay? If you could borrow $100 at 5%, obviously you would owe $105, okay? But guess what? If you were to invest that $100, into some kind of income-producing asset that made you 10%, then who the heck cares that there was a 5% interest on it? Because you are literally making $110. So guess what? Just by being a good steward, I'm literally making $5 for free off of every $100 just because I learned how to use good debt. You got to learn these things, man. Okay, so number 1, what are some of the little skills? Taxes. You got to learn about the difference between good debt and bad debt. Number 3, this one's a big one, credit. It is mind-boggling to me that most people maybe here listening to the training today don't even know their credit score right now. They haven't checked it. They don't monitor it. They don't know what's going on, they don't know anything, like, "I don't know, maybe I—" Serious? Like, your credit is one of the most powerful leverage points that you have available to you, and if you don't know the game, the game is playing you. If you don't know how to play the credit game, the credit game is playing you, period. Right? And it's mind-boggling to me that so many people, if they do know that their credit is bad or they're scared, like, This was me for a long time. I was scared of taxes. Oh man, because again, like I told you guys, I grew up in a household where my parents didn't know nothing about nothing. And all I know is that they were always scared of taxes. They were always scared of bills. I was like, I'm scared of taxes and I'm scared of bills. I don't know how this works. And it wasn't until I learned the game, I was like, wait a second. Now that I know the game, I could play the game. And if I could play the game, I could win the game. So if any of these things that I'm talking to you about, if they're scary or if they seem like overwhelming to you, then guess what? You have got to face them head on, grow your literacy, become more fluent so that you can understand what's going on. So that way you can master money instead of money mastering you. Is anybody here getting it? Shout yes in the comments. Right? So you got to learn taxes. You got to learn how leverage or good debt works. You got to learn about credit, right? You gotta learn about risk. How should you take calculated risks? Right? You gotta learn contracts. Man, I used to hate contracts. I used to hate them, hate them, hate them. And now I feel like at least 2 or 3 times a week I'm reviewing some kind of contract. Right? You gotta learn how to read these contracts. And of course, I wouldn't say that I'm the most, you know, contract fluent person in the world. No, I still have my lawyers help me, et cetera. But man, I'm way better at reading contracts now. I know way more what they mean now than I did before I knew the game. What else? This one's huge, guys. Negotiation. Like, if you don't know how to negotiate, I have found in life, my 40 years around the sun— actually, my wife was here last week and she's like, 41. I'll rebuke her later. I'm kidding, I'm kidding. 41 years, I've learned that you get out of life what you negotiate. And if you don't have the skills of negotiation, then you're not a master of money. Money's mastered you. You got to learn this stuff, guys. That's why the wealthy are wealthy, because the wealthy, we have mastered, right? We're very, very, very fluent. We're very, very, very fluent. In taxes, in good debt versus bad debt, in credit, in risk, in contracts, in negotiations, et cetera, et cetera, et cetera. Are y'all getting it? Shout yes in the comments if you're getting it, right? If you're ready for number 6, drop a 6 in the chat. We're about to wrap, guys. Just 2 more real quick, okay? If you're ready for 6, drop a 6 in the chat, okay? So the main thing I'm trying to teach you guys here today is don't just become fluent, sorry, don't just become literate in your finances, become fluent. Okay, number 6: protect the bag. You got to protect the bag, man. What does that mean? It means stewardship is always better than frivolous spending. Listen, if you're taking notes, write it down like this. The wealthy, we don't get rich from making money. We get rich because we know how to keep our money. You got to learn how to become a good steward, man. Think about it. Like, is God going to entrust more to you and you don't even— you don't know how to manage the hundreds? How is he going to entrust you with the thousands? If you don't learn how to manage the thousands, why would he entrust you with the tens of thousands? If you don't learn how to manage the tens of thousands, why would he entrust you with the hundreds of thousands? If you don't learn how to manage the hundreds of thousands, why would he entrust you with the millions? If you don't learn how to handle the millions, why would he entrust you with the tens of millions? And on and on and on and on. All of us start at zero, okay? I'm telling you guys and gals this, all of us start at zero. Myself included. But one incredible thing about God is God is a rewarder of diligence. He's a rewarder of diligence. And if you can do a good job with a little bit, he's gonna give you more. And then if you can do a good job with that, he's gonna give you more. And if you can do a good job with that, he's gonna give you more. This is how it works with God. But if all you're ever doing is like, well, I don't know, hopefully one day, Maybe it's all gonna work out. Maybe, I hope. Jesus is good, so hopefully he'll bail me out. That's not how it works. It's like you're being an ostrich, like I don't wanna have to deal with anything. I'm just gonna bury my head in the sand and hopefully one day when I pick it up, it's all, I'm gonna be rich. That's not how it works, man. Okay? So how can you become a better steward instead of spending frivolously so you can protect your back? You've got to learn how to, learn to live off of less than you make. I had a banker friend recently, I think I told this to you guys or somebody recently. I had a banker friend recently, I was purchasing some real estate and the banker called me up. He's like, am I seeing this correctly? I'm like, I don't know, what are you talking about? He's like, You literally live off of 1% of your income? Like, this can't be true. I was like, oh yeah, it is. He's like, this is psychotic. I was like, well, I'm trying to be a good steward. I literally live off of 1% of my income. It's crazy, man. I didn't— please hear me. I'm not trying to flex on anybody. I'm sincerely not. I'm just trying to say— I'm trying to let you guys know everyone starts from the beginning, right? I didn't just wake up one day and I was able to do all this stuff. I had to grow, I had to learn, I had to become more fluent, I had to invest into myself, I had to get the skills. But anyone can do this. If I can do it, you can do it as well, I promise, right? You gotta learn how to live off of less than you make. Number 2, you've got to avoid, gotta learn how to avoid, there we go, bad debt. Right? Like, not all debt is created equal. Yes, there's such thing as good debt, but absolutely there's such a thing as bad debt. Yes, right? How else can you become a good steward? Insure your life, man. Get some insurance, right? Insure your life. Insure your income. Insure your assets. Like, get some insurance. Don't be the person who doesn't have insurance. I'm a believer, like, listen, God's working it all together for the good. Yes, yes, yes. But just in case something crazy happens, you best believe I'm insured, right? Because I want to be a good steward. How else can you be a good steward? Build an emergency fund. Man, Rick, I wanna master the game of money. I wanna become a money master. Then are you doing this kind of stuff? Are you doing the basics? 'Cause if you ain't even doing the basics, how you gonna be entrusted with more? Are y'all getting it? One more thing I highly suggest. If you wanna become a good steward, This one's a very important skill that you can grow into, but you've got to make decisions with the long term in mind. So many people are making the quick decision about now, now, now, now, now, now, now. You've got to make decisions like, I'll tell you what, I made an investment last year one of the largest investments I've ever made in my life. Okay. And it was a big, big, big investment that my wife and I made last year. And I'm telling you this, chances are it's not going to pay off for years and years and years and years. But when it does, it's going to be probably the most amount of money we've ever made in our lives. But we just, we knew we're signing up today and it's going to be a process of years and years and years and years. But when we find, like the years are going to pass anyway, right? We're making decisions today that are going to affect our tomorrow. It's not just like, oh, how can I make a quick buck right now? I get that. That's needed sometimes. Cool. But you need to make decisions that they have to do with tomorrow, not just today. Right? If you're taking notes, write it down like this. Then we're going to wrap up. Okay? If you're taking notes, write this down. Stewardship is the boring skill that guarantees you never fall backward. Stewardship is the boring skill that guarantees you never fall backwards. And if you're ready for number 7, the 7th milestone in mastering money, drop a 7 in the chat. Let's go. We're wrapping it up here, guys. The 7th milestone in money mastery is You've got to learn how to make, how to manage, and how to multiply your money relentlessly. Make, manage, and multiply. Okay? Here's the interesting news for you. You're never going to be able to multiply money if you don't know how to manage it. And if you never learn how to manage money, it's going to be really hard for you to learn how to make it, right? Like all of these 3 Ms right here, they're, they're really strategically connected to one another, right? Because if you can learn how to make money, Then the next skill you need to develop is how to manage money. And I'm asking you a rhetorical question right now. Where are you at in this process right now? Are you learning the make money skills? Are you learning the management money skills? Are you in the multiply money skills? You need all these skills, right? And you can learn all of these over time if you just stick with it and keep investing into yourself. Okay. But making the money, this is where money is so easy to make. You can just like if you need 10 grand, you can just pull it out of thin air like this. I'll tell you what, I didn't always get there, but if I need $100K, I could basically pull it out of thin air right now. I'm not trying to flex. It's just I've got to that place in my skill. Making money is very easy, right? The hardest one for me in this whole process was the management, because years ago, like I told you guys, I came from nothing. So as soon as I learned how to make money, I didn't know what to do with it. I'm like, I don't know. And we're just spending. And I was like, I don't know. I'm scared of all this other stuff. I had to learn how to manage it. Right. And thank God I disciplined myself to learn how to manage it. And then now I'm in the phase right now of multiplying. How can I take this money that God has entrusted to me and how can I make my money work harder for me? Right. Like, and the cool part is, like any other skill, You can get so good at these skills, guys, where it just gets easier and easier and easier and easier and easier. Right? And so here's the final rule when it comes to the mastery of money. Okay? It's scaling. Why do we want to get to the place of scale in our money, guys? Because— God intends for us to multiply everything we touch. Remember this in the Genesis, God said it like this, "Be fruitful and add." Is that what he said? No. "Be fruitful and play as small and safe as possible." Is that what he said? No. God said, "Be fruitful and what? Multiply, multiply, multiply, multiply, multiply, multiply." In God, man, it shouldn't just be like a little here and a little there. No, in God, God expects for us to become stewards at such a level that everything we touch, we multiply it, we multiply it, we multiply it, we multiply it. Because guess what? That's what he does. In your hand, it's a seed. In God's hand, it's a harvest. And you need to learn how to grow into that place where it's not just a seed in your hand. You can grow into the place like God because you're created in his image, you're created in his likeness. That if somebody puts something in your hand, God included, when he entrusts something here, it becomes a harvest. It multiplies. Kaboom! You can get there, guys. You can absolutely get there, right? If you're taking notes, write it down like this. Wealth is a multiplication game. Wealth is a game, man. It's a game. And when you learn the rules of the game, you can play the game better. And the more you understand the rules and the more you practice, the easier it is to win. Period. Right? So, what I desire for you here in this training on mastering money, right, the 7 milestones to master money, is to understand that the reason why you need to build all of these skills together is because skills compound. Right? Skills absolutely compound. You might be sitting here going, oh, this, it sounds cool, the teaching makes a lot of sense, but I don't know, it just seems so overwhelming, it's so many steps. It doesn't have to be overwhelming if you go one step at a time, right? Do this, then do this, then do this, then do this. Here's the punchline, guys. The time is going to pass either way. It will. So you might as well apply yourself, discipline yourself, to grow in the game of money. Learn the language. Don't just be literate, be fluent, right? Learn to speak it, learn the game, learn the rules. Don't, for no moment period, right? Like I desire so strong that you, not for a single moment will you allow fear or overwhelm to hold you back from any of this. If anyone should have been held back from this, it should have been me, right? I came from nothing. My parents struggled like I shared with you guys. We lived in a small little apartment until I was a teenager. Like, you know, my parents were always scraping, scrambling. They were always scared of everything money growing up. Thank God, you know, they're in a different place now. They're super blessed now. They've learned the game. They learned some of the game. And thank you God, as I started learning the game, I started helping them a little bit and they were learning and I was learning and we're helping each other and ta-da! You can get there, guys. You absolutely can get there, okay? So here's the punchline, guys. If you have the desire to master money, you have got to get there by walking these 7 milestones little by little. Like anything else in life, you get there little by little, step by step, moment by moment, right? Day by day. Boom, boom, boom, boom, boom. In fact, and I'm gonna wrap with this, okay? The Bible tells us, that God gave the Israelites the Promised Land little by little. And if you've ever wondered, like, God, why didn't he just give them the whole entire Promised Land all at once? It's because of what it says in the next part. It said, I gave you the Promised Land little by little so that the beasts would not devour you if you got too much too quick. Proverbs tells us that an inheritance received too quickly, it's actually very dangerous for us, right? Why does God desire for us to go on the little by little by little? So that the beasts of pride, of arrogance, of I don't have the skill, I grew so much fruit before the trunk was strong enough to hold it that I snapped over in half. Allow God's process to be God's process. Go step by step by step by step. And I'm telling you this right now, applying yourself with the everyday baby steps, you absolutely can get to the place where you master your money with these 7 milestones.
