Why God Desires For His People To Be Wealthy

In this solo teaching, Rick Pino argues that God explicitly desires every believer to experience financial prosperity, health, and overall abundance. He grounds his claim in Scripture, especially 3 John 1:2 and Proverbs 8, asserting that wealth is a side‑kick of divine wisdom. Pino shares a personal testimony of a business theft that left him with only $3,000, yet he chose to lend that money to a friend, after which his enterprises grew into multi‑million‑dollar ventures. He explains that true prosperity is linked to the condition of the inner man—generosity, lack of greed, and spiritual health—rather than the amount of money one possesses. Pino then outlines four practical keys to break generational scarcity: (1) correct belief that God wants you to prosper; (2) become financially literate and fluent; (3) shift mindset from perceived disability to empowerment; and (4) move from dependence on others to a status of blessing others. He challenges the notion that poverty is holy, frames poverty as mis‑management, and emphasizes that wealth is a tool for advancing God’s kingdom. Throughout, he urges listeners to adopt these principles, write them down, and act, positioning wealth stewardship as essential for personal freedom and societal transformation.

What's up everybody? It's Rick Pino here from Get Wisdom. What if I told you that God desires for 100% of his children to financially prosper? Yes, I'm talking about, I believe God even desires for you to become rich. And if this statement even begins to slightly mess with something on the inside of you, it's probably because you have been brainwashed by culture, by religion, by church, by school, by your parents or whoever it is to believe different. But in today's training, I'm gonna show you from the Bible exactly why I believe this to be true, exactly how you can unlock it for your life, and even better, how you can unlock it for your children and your children's children. Stay tuned and let's get into it. Well guys, we're gonna start in 3 John. I'm gonna share this amazing scripture with you because here's the punchline, okay? So many people, they're confused about like, does God actually have the desire for me to prosper or not? I don't know, right? It's so interesting to me that you go up to most believers and you're like, hey, do you believe God wants you to have wisdom? And they go, oh yeah, of course. Well, do you believe that God desires for you to prosper and be wealthy and to be rich? And they're like, well, I don't know, it depends and blah, blah. Really? Because in Proverbs chapter 8, the Bible says that wisdom has sidekicks and a number of wisdom sidekicks are wealth, enduring wealth, prosperity. And so it's like, okay, we believe that God does desire for us to have things like wisdom, but we're unsure if God really desires for us to prosper and to actually have money in abundance. We don't know, right? And the biggest problem here, guys, is why most of God's people stay struggling is because they're more conflicted than they are convicted around what God says about prospering, about wealth, about money, riches, et cetera, okay? So let's go to what I believe is one of the biggest root break the generational cursor roots that I have found for my own family. And it's found in 3 John 1:2. I'm just gonna read it to you guys like this. 3 John 1:2, it says, '"Beloved, I pray that you prosper and be in good health, just as your soul prospers." Interesting, other versions say, "Beloved, I pray that you might prosper in all things and be in good health, even as your soul prospers." So what does this mean? Obviously, if your inner man is not in good health, right? If you struggle with greed, if you struggle with stinginess, if you struggle with fear or pride or lust or all these yucky things that come up in all of our hearts from time to time, but if your inner man is not prospering, then guess what? Money, see, a lot of people, especially a lot of broke-minded people, they think like, well, money changes you, right? Like, oh man, beware of the love of money. It's the root of all evil, blah, blah, blah. It's like, hold on, Hold on, wait a second. Why do broke-minded people always think that, oh, the more money you have, the less you have to trust God? That's not the case at all. In fact, I found the opposite to be true, is the more money you have, the more you have to trust God, because now he's entrusted a bigger thing to you to actually steward. And where people are like, oh man, if you get money, it's going to change you and you'll turn wicked— no. 3 John 1:2 tells us that God has a desire for us to prosper in all things. Somebody in the comments say all things. God has a desire for us to prosper in all things and be in good health. This is emotional health, physical health, spiritual health, and yes, financial health. And all of this is connected to even as your soul, your inner man prospers, right? So here's the cool part that I've learned about prospering God's way. When you are prospering in your inner man, when you are generous, even when you don't have a lot of external finances, right? When you are not greedy, when you are not living in scarcity, even when you don't have a lot of natural resources, when you're still living in abundance, even though you may not have a lot of the natural resources, that is your inner man saying, hey, I'm literally— I believe that God desires for me to prosper, whether I see with my own eyes yet or not. I am going to be this kind of person before I actually have the physical manifestation of this. And this is exactly what the Bible is setting up for us is like, look, money doesn't change you. It exposes what's going on in your inner man. "Beloved, I pray that you prosper in all things and be in good health, even as your soul prospers." So I submit to you that could it be, yes, 100%, God desires for you to be prosperous and it is divinely connected to your inner man. And so here's the punchline, if you desire to be entrusted with millions and tens of millions, then guess what? You're going to have to start learning how to be faithful with the ones and the tens and the hundreds. And then after you're faithful with the ones and tens and hundreds, then God is going to entrust you with the thousands and the few thousands and maybe even the tens of thousands. And then whenever you learn how to be faithful with that and it doesn't change you, it just continues to expose you because he desires that you prosper in all things and be in good health even as your soul prospers, then it— he works his way up. If you can be found faithful with little, he will entrust you with more. Is anybody here getting it? Somebody shout yes in the comments, okay? So here's the punchline, friends. Don't be more conflicted than you are convicted. I am 1 million percent convicted God desires for me to live in abundance. He desires for me to live in prosperity. In fact, a crazy story for you, okay? So a number of years ago, this was at the beginning of my business journey, I had built this cool business. It was my very first, like business outside of leading worship or missions or anything like that. And I'd built this cool business and we were doing like multiple six figures a month. We started scaling up. It was going amazing. Like, oh my gosh, this is crazy. And somebody within the company that I was building— this is my first, first go at business, right? This is like 10, 12 years ago, something like this. My very first go at business. Somebody who was very close to me that I trusted who was working inside of the business stole everything, like hundreds of thousands of dollars, just stole it all from me. And I was like, oh my gosh. As you can imagine, my wife and I were devastated, not just because like the money was stolen, but also because this person was very close to us. Like we trusted this person. It was like, what? What? How would you steal from us, right? And while I was wrestling through this, I was down, guys, to my last $3,000. Okay? And that's literally all we had. Like, not just like we have $3,000 in the business, we have $3,000 saved, like total $3,000. Right? This is again, 10, 12 years ago. And I was rocked. I was like, oh my gosh, what are we going to do? I guess I'm gonna have to rebuild it back up. And I'm— while I'm trying to like wrestle through like, what do I do? How do I? Do I file a lawsuit against this person? Do I just let them go and forgive them? I don't know what to do. The very moment that I'm just like, gosh, I don't know what to do, I'm down to my last 3 grand, we don't know how we're gonna make it all work for, this month we're probably okay, next month probably not. And in the midst of all of this, I get a phone call from a very dear friend, completely different person, knows nothing about any of this stuff, has no clue that another person very close to me had stolen hundreds of thousands of dollars from me, calls me up and the person goes, "Hey bro, I, I, this is so crazy. I've never done this before. I feel terrible. I'm so embarrassed. Is there any way I can borrow $3,000?" And I remember thinking, "Oh my God, bro, is there any way I could borrow $3,000 from you because I just got all this money stolen from me?" Like, it was a temptation 10, 12 years ago to be like, actually, bro, you know, like someone just stole this money. I don't really have it, sorry. But it was in that moment I felt like the Holy Spirit was saying, hey, are you going to prosper and be in good health even as your soul prospers? Is your inner man going to be the kind of person that whether the money is there in the natural or not, you're gonna be a person of generosity and abundance? And I was like, okay, bro, I will send the money right now. Yo, I sent them my last $3,000. Like I had just had hundreds of thousands stolen from me and then they called. But here's like the thread I saw between, you know, my current situation in the natural and what I knew to be God's hand in it all. If this person would have called and asked for like, hey, can I borrow $5,000? Hey, can I borrow $1,500? Right? Then I would have been a little bit more like, well, I don't know. But when they ask specifically for every last penny that— they didn't know this, but it was every last penny I had. I almost felt like God's divine providence to go, are you going to trust me in this or not? Is your inner man prospering? "Or is he not?" And I was like, gosh. So I said, "Yes." I said, "Sure, you can borrow 3 grand." My wife, obviously at that point, I ran it by her and she's like, "Hey, if God is leading us in this, let's go. He's our provider." And I was like, "You're absolutely right." Long story short, guys, that business went on to do millions and millions and millions of dollars. And then we use profits from that business to start another business that went on to do millions and millions and millions of dollars. And then we use profits from these businesses to start another business that went on to do millions and millions and millions of dollars, and here we are now, tens and tens and tens and tens of millions of dollars later, and it is absolutely wild to see what if I didn't say yes, right? Like what if the guy called and he's like, hey man, can I borrow 3 grand? And I was like, man, I don't got it, man, I just got, like what if I chose to live in scarcity at that moment? Friends, I'm telling you right now, God desires for you to be, in prosperity, even as your soul prospereth. It's all about the inner man, right? So everything that's coming up right now in your life, it's all a test. And God is testing to see, can I actually entrust her? Can I actually entrust him with the next level? Do they actually prosper in their inner man or are they just like talking the talk but not walking the walk, right? And with that being said, You know, it's interesting. Like, let me throw a couple more ideas out and then I'm going to give you guys a couple of practical steps. Okay. So my question to you is, does God actually desire for his children to be broke, poor, and in lack? Let me know in the comments. Right. And as you're considering that, maybe consciously you're like, absolutely not. He desires for us to prosper. But what does your subconscious actually say? Because here's the thing, whatever is in your conscious brain, right, it's articulated, but whatever is in your subconscious brain is demonstrated, right? It's one thing to talk like, oh, I believe God wants us to prosper, but it's another thing, how are you living? What actions are you taking? Like, are you putting premium gas in your car? I know you guys hear me say this all the time, like, "Oh, Rick Pino's talking about putting premium gas." Are you putting premium gas in your car? Are you reminding yourself, whatever, once a week, for me, it's like 2 or 3 times a week, I drive a lot. Am I reminding myself over and over and over and over that my God-given potential is bigger than the price of gas? My wife and I were doing that before we ever made money, right? Like, are you being generous even if in the natural, it's like a super big stretch for you? Right? Like, are you living in abundance even though you may not see like a flourishing in the natural yet? Friends, I pray that you be in good health and prosper in all things, even as your soul prospers. So the question is, do you actually believe that God desires for you to live in prosperity, have riches, have abundance? Or do you believe subconsciously that God desires for you to be broke, poor, and lacking? Here's my question to you. As a parent, I know many of you watching right now, you're parents. As a parent, do you desire for your kids to be broke, to be poor, to live in the gutters, to go begging for bread, especially if you have the ability to help them and to establish them and give them a better life than you have? Of course not, right? So I submit to you, how much greater is God with his children. I in no way, shape, or form desire for any of my children to live in the gutter, be diseased, to always be in lack, not ever have enough, right? Like they're malnourished. They are living in rags, have dirt all over their face. Like, no, of course not. What parent would desire that, right? How much greater is God? I submit to you, when you look all around the world and you see poverty around the world, when you see lack around the world in these third world nations, even here in America, when you look around and you see the suffering and you see disease and you see people struggling and you see crime and you see ignorance and all these things that stem from poverty, I ask you, are you looking at God's will Or the enemy's will? It's the enemy's will. It's not God's will, right? If you're taking notes, write it down like this. Poverty isn't a reflection of the intent of the maker, right? Because everything God creates, he blessed. We see that in the Genesis. But poverty isn't a reflection of the intent of the maker. Poverty is a reflection of the intent of the manager. How will you manage what God desires to entrust you? In fact, with that being said, poverty is a direct sign of man's mismanagement, either through neglect, right? Ignorance. Like, I— like, not just neglect, but like ignorance, straight up ignorance. Like, I don't— I didn't know how to manage money. I didn't know how to make money, so it just is what it is. No. That's not God's fault. That's not your parents' fault. It's no one's fault. It's your own, right? You've got to take responsibility. So poverty is a direct sign of man's mismanagement, either through neglect, either through ignorance, right? Or just a straight up willingness to walk in wickedness, right? But if you're taking notes, I need you to write this down. I need you to look me in the digital eyeballs right now, guys. And I need you to understand something. Nothing good ever comes from poverty. Nothing, nothing good ever comes from poverty, period. As a believer, the only person that wants you poor is the devil. That's it, right? The devil's worst nightmare is when God's children learn to steward and manage real wealth and get a vision for generational blessing. I came to help somebody here today, right? Here's what you need to understand. The world will not change until the right people have the resources it takes to enforce God's will and purposes in the earth. Think about it. We can, we can talk about change. We can campaign for change. We can have rallies for change. Shoot, we can pray for change. Until we're blue in the face. But until there is a real transfer of wealth, and until God's people learn to steward that wealth, we won't see much things change at all. Now please hear me, I'm not saying, you know, don't pray for change. I'm not saying go have your meetings for change, your campaigns for change. But guess what? It takes real money to see change. It takes real money. Like, we want— we have a vision to like rescue all the orphans. How much money is it going to take? Well, God's going to supply. He is. But guess how he's going to supply? He's going to supply through money. Well, maybe someone can just donate everything. People are not going to donate everything every single time. That's not the 100% of the time exactly how it works. You need money, right? We want to rescue all the orphans. We want to build all the orphanages. We want to end trafficking. How you gonna do all that? Just supernaturally? No, you need money, man. It takes money. That's why you've gotta figure this business thing out. That's why you gotta get your mindset, your belief system correct around does God actually have a desire for me to prosper or not? Yes, he does. Right? And I wanna submit to you something, okay? Many of your ambitions were given to you by God because of his plan and his purpose that will require you to have access. It will require you to have access to and learn to manage significant resources. That's why you have so much ambition. Right? The Bible, like a lot of people get this confused. They're like, oh, ambition's wrong. No, no, no, the Bible says selfish ambition. But guess what? My ambition, I've got tons and tons and tons of ambition, but it's not so I can like, ooh, I wanna buy a new cool car. I wanna buy a new cool watch. Like nothing wrong with cars and watches, whatever. But the ambition that I have is directly connected to how can we actually see some real change on this planet? I understand it takes money, right? It takes— I am a man of prayer, right? I pray for y'all constantly, sincerely. And as a man of prayer, I'm also a man of action because I understand prayer alone is not going to get it done. You pray and take action. You pray and step out in faith. You pray and— like, you ask God for help and you actually go for it, right? That's how it works. Uh, let me continue on here. Some church people may want you to feel guilty. I don't know if you've ever experienced this before, uh, with me over the last whatever it's been, 4 years now that I've really went heavy on business and wealth. You know, people have known me forever as a worship leader, a missionary, and that's awesome, but they don't understand the full picture of what God's doing. They're like, "Oh, Pino, he worships mammon now," right? And while some church people may want you to feel guilty about this ambition and this desire to build business and serve people and create wealth and get rich, The Father wants you to figure this thing out because he desires for you to be an extension of his greatness and an extension of his kingdom in the earth. So why is it important for God's people to learn how to steward wealth? Because money is a tool that takes on the character and the will of the one who holds it. I will say that again for the people in the back. Why is it important for God's people to learn how to steward wealth? Because money is a tool that takes on the character and the will of the one who holds it, the one who stewards it. If you are not prospering in your soul and you've got wickedness in your soul, money will just amplify that. Doesn't change you, it just amplifies you, right? If you're doing well in your soul, if you have a generous soul, if you trust God, right? And it's not just words, right? If you, if you're actually living in abundance, even before you might see it in the natural, that's a good setup for God to begin to entrust you with more, right? So guys, with all of this being said, let me give you guys 4 keys to break the cycle of scarcity off of your family forever. Is that okay with anybody? Somebody shout, go ahead, Uncle Rick, down in the comments. 4 keys. Number 1, key number 1: you must get your belief right. You got to get your belief right around God's desire to see you prosper. Like, if you don't believe that God desires for you to prosper and to be rich and to be wealthy and to do amazing things for his kingdom. And if you're like still confused, like, do you believe God wants you to have wisdom? Yeah. Do you believe God wants you to be rich? I don't know. If your belief system isn't even right, if you don't even believe it's possible, it's not possible. You've got to get your belief right around God's desire to see you and your family and your children and your children's children prosper before you can step into financial abundance. You need to settle one thing in your heart. God desires for you to prosper. It's so interesting. I walk into every room like I own the place. And if you don't know me, you're like, "Well." You might even feel like, "Well, that guy's pretty cocky." No, I'm not cocky. I just, I expect favor, I expect abundance, I expect for people to like me. My preconceived idea is that God has gone before me and he's walked into every room before I've walked in and he's tapped people on the shoulder to say, hey, when this guy comes in, you don't even know it yet, but you're gonna have massive favor towards him. That's how I walk, that's how I live, why? Because I'm a beloved son in whom the Lord is well pleased and I believe that he desires for me to prosper in all things and be in good health. And it's all connected to how my inner man prospers. Right? Too many people carry a mindset that equates poverty to holiness, as if struggling financially somehow makes you more righteous. This is the stupidest thing ever. But scripture repeatedly shows us that God delights in blessing his people. Not just spiritually, by the way, right? In every area of life, including finances. The moment you believe this truth, my friends, you stop making excuses for lack and start positioning yourself for growth, all right? So first things first, you gotta get your beliefs right. Number 2, you must, I talk about this all the time, you must become financially literate. And I would even take this a step further. You must become financially literate and financially fluent. Like, here's the thing. Somebody could have the most incredible wisdom for you ever, right? And it was like life-changing wisdom for you and your family and your children, your children's children. Like, this was amazing. But if they spoke like, Mandarin, if they spoke Chinese and you didn't speak Chinese, what good is it? You don't understand. Why? Because you are not literate. You are not fluent to be able to understand the language that is being spoken to you so that you can actually benefit from the wisdom of what the person is trying to say. The same thing goes for your finances. If you don't understand how taxes work, If you don't understand how cap rates work in a real estate deal, if you don't understand, or in a business deal for that matter, if you don't understand good credit versus bad credit, right? If you don't understand interest rates, if you don't understand good debt versus bad debt, if you don't understand the difference between assets and liabilities, if you don't understand the importance of investing and what does it mean to invest, if you don't understand what an ROI is, how in the world are you going to expect to be entrusted with finances if you can't even be literate, let alone fluent? If you don't understand these things, how they actually work, you hear me say it over and over and over and over, but you're either being played by the game or you're playing the game. You can either play the game or the game is playing you. And my friends, unfortunately, most people are being played by the game because they simply don't know the rules of the game. They don't speak the language, they don't know the rules. How can you win at a game that you don't even understand the rules, right? If you're taking notes, write it down like this. Faith alone won't make you financially free. Faith alone won't make you financially free. Wisdom and action must follow. The Bible says that wisdom is more valuable than gold, which means financial literacy is a form of wealth within itself. What? That's right. If you have desire, excuse me, if you have the desire to make, to manage, and to multiply your money, well, you need to learn how it works. Educate yourself about business. Educate yourself about real estate. Educate yourself about whatever area you feel called to, but make sure you become financially literate and even become fluent so that you can understand how the game is played so that you can win the game, right? God, if you're taking notes, write this one down. God will bless what you steward well, but ignorance leads to waste. God will bless what you steward well, but ignorance leads to waste. That's a Pino proverb, my friends. If you're ready for number 3, drop a 3 in the chat. Third thing you gotta do, We're about to wrap here, guys. Third thing you gotta do, okay? Number 1, get your beliefs right. Number 2, become financially literate or fluent. Number 3, change— this one's so important. You must change your state from disability to empowerment. And ability. What does that mean? Here's the punchline, okay? Your circumstances may have told you that you're limited. Your upbringing might have tried to brainwash you that you can't, or that it's always been like this, or that you'll never be able to XYZ. But that's not the truth. You are not defined by what family you came from. You are not defined by your past. You are not defined by your mistakes. You're not even defined by your current struggles. The moment you shift your mindset from I can't, or it's impossible, or I don't know, however, if, The moment you change your mindset from disability to empowerment and you go from I can't to I will, I must, I can. You gotta switch into that empowerment mode, man. You gotta change your state. You gotta change your state from, oh, I just never, no, no, you're not a victim, man. You're a victor. And in fact, in Christ, You're not just a conqueror, you are more than a conqueror, especially when it comes to your finances. The moment you shift your mindset from I can't to I will, everything changes. God has given you gifts, ideas, and talents, so use them, right? And number 4, now that you change your state, You must also change your status from dependence on other people, okay, to becoming the one who blesses others. You know, it's so interesting for 20+ years as a worship leader and as a missionary, being around all the ministry circles and everything like that, it's so crazy because 99.999% of these ministers and missionaries and worship leaders and speakers and even your favorites,, right? Your favorite speakers, your favorite pastors, your favorite worship leaders, 99.9999% of all of them, and I know a ton of them, have the lens of, okay, if God wants to do something great in my finances, it needs to come from like a rich guy or a rich lady giving me an offering or giving me a building or paying for my missions trip or whatever. They're like, man, I need someone to come in and bail me out. The status is not God's best, right? The goal isn't just to escape from financial struggle. It's to reach a place where you can bless others abundantly. See, that's the most— that's the problem why most people stay stuck at the level that they're at, because they're in such like scarcity. They're just trying to get enough and they only have a vision that's big enough for enough. Man, if I could just get to the next pay period, if I could just pay my light bill, if I could just have an extra $1,000 or whatever it is, right? But for those who have a bigger vision, like, how can I get $5,000 to 10 families in the next year? Like, that vision blows everything, like, wait, what? If you've never thought like that, if you're always the one who like, I hope somebody comes and bails me out, God, please send a rich person to come give me a check, please. If you switch from that to how can I actually become that rich person who becomes a blessing to nations, to where I am now the lender and not the borrower, to where I am the one who's blessing the city, blessing the field, blessed when I come, blessed when I go, I'm blessed everywhere. And in fact, anyone who gets connected to me, they get to be blessed as well. You got to change not just your state, you got to change your status., right? Reach that place of others being abundantly blessed through your life. But to do that, you must break free from a dependency mindset. Now, please hear me. I'm not talking about dependency on God. I'm talking about dependency on other people. God, please, I need a miracle. And you're expecting somebody else to bail you out. That's what I'm talking about, right? In order to get to that place where you become the blessing, you have to break free of that dependency on others mindset. Stop looking for someone to rescue you and start building yourself up, your skills, your literacy and your fluency on finances, right? Start building yourself up to the point where you no longer need to be rescued by others, but you can become the rescuer. Friends, I'm gonna wrap with this. The Bible tells us that God 100% desires for us to prosper and to live in prosperity. But it's not about like, hey, send an offering to me and then God's gonna bless you. That's like, that's false old school TV preacher, you know, twisted this whole idea to where now everyone's like, oh, the prosperity gospel, right? Well, first of all, I don't see a lack gospel, but unfortunately man has done a bad job of interpreting God's desire for prosperity for his people and connected to like, if you send an offering to the TV preacher, then your life will be abundantly blessed. That's not how it works, right? The way it works is, is beloved, I pray that you be in good health and prosper and be in good health in all things even as your soul prospers. You got to get it right in here so that God can entrust it to you and you can have it right out here.
