I believe in the Power of God!

This content was created by Rico Sharp. This content was uploaded by Rico Sharp. This is a YouTube video titled "I believe in the Power of God!" (posted April 21, 2024) containing a recorded church service sermon/teaching about faith and the power of God. The primary speaker (labeled SPEAKER A) delivers a scripture-based message (Ephesians 3:20, Hebrews 11, Mark 11, etc.) on "present" or "now" faith, speaking to obstacles, healing, provision, and using the Word. Rico Sharp frequently interjects with affirmations and brief comments; the service also references Dr. Jerome Helpburn and Pastor Fong. The excerpt reads as a live ministry event with call-and-response and congregational interaction.

than Pastor Rico Sharp. Give the Lord a hand clap of praise for him.
Amen.
It's so good to see you.
Good to see you. You close.
I live in Orange City, so you close.
Turn it back over to me. Okay. Sounds good.
Well, good morning, good morning, good morning. Praise God. Can you put your hands together for Jesus, if you don't mind? Lord, we thank you, we bless you, we give you praise, glory, and honor for who you are. And we welcome your presence. We welcome the power of your word. We welcome you in this house today. Amen. Praise God. Can you also put your hands together for the shepherd, the bishop, the overseer, the doctor in his absence, Dr. Jerome Helpburn? Amen. Praise God. Praise God. And you can't bless the man of God and give him honor without honoring his wife. Amen. Can you put your hands together for Pastor Fong? God bless you, give you honor. And Mom, God bless you. To each and every one of you, can you turn to somebody that is sitting next to you and tell them, you are blessed to be sitting next to me today? Tell somebody else, you are blessed to be sitting next to me today. Amen. Reach over and touch somebody and tell them something's going to happen in your life today. Amen. Something good is about to happen. In this house today, amen.
Amen.
Now give the Lord a shout of praise if you will. I'm going to ask you to grab your Bibles. Please remain standing. It's such an honor for me to be here today. My church is in Umatilla, Florida, and. I just left there. I gave them a microwave meal, and I ran here to give you a home-cooked dinner.
Amen.
So, say a prayer for me when the service is over, all right? Because I might need it for next week when I get back there, because they were not ready for me to leave. It's an honor for me to be able to come here. As mentioned, Dr. Jerome has been a friend of mine for a very, very long time. And I'm going to tell you something. He is an amazing friend. He's an amazing brother. He has a heart of God. And I thank God for him. And he's been there with me as a part of our networking partnership. We're Where he would come and preach for us and I would come and preach for him. And I, I tell you, I could count on one hand the people that I've met in this lifetime that has that type of heart, that type of character, and that type of spirit. You all are blessed to be a part of this ministry. Always honor him, always honor her, always honor them, always support them because their heart is good towards you. Amen. Amen. I have what I call a profession of faith, where I ask people to grab their Bibles and and hold their Bibles up and repeat after me. And if you don't have a Bible, hold up your smartphone. If you don't have a smartphone, hold up your right hand and say, "I believe the Word of God." I am who it says I am. I can have what it says I can have. I can live as it says I can live. I can do all that it says I can do. Today I open my heart, my mind, my spirit and soul to receive God's holy word. For faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the word of God. With my faith I will please my God. As a result of my faith, my God will please me. In Jesus' name, amen. While you're standing, turn with me to the book of Ephesians chapter 3, verse number 20. Ephesians 3:20. If you're hearing me for the first time, I'm what you call a teach preacher. I both teach and preach the word of God.
Amen.
I love teaching and I love Preaching, but more importantly, I love giving people the word of God. And so, just bear with me today as I teach a little bit. We got some place to get to today in the word, and I promise you we're going to get there. So the Bible says in the book of Ephesians chapter three verse twenty, now unto him. Who is able to do exceedingly, abundantly above all we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us. Now I'm going to ask you to read that with me. Are you ready? And I want I want you to say it as if you are decreeing and declaring this over your life. Say now unto him who is able. To do exceedingly, abundantly above all that I ask or think, according to the power that worketh in me. Amen. Bow your heads. Precious Father, we thank you today for your word. Lord, we love and we appreciate you. Father, we realize that this is the time that you've already. Predestined to move and to speak into our hearts. We're asking you, Father, to show yourself strong right here at Jump Ministry as you are accustomed to doing. Let everyone here today receive what they came for, but not only give what they've come for, but do exceedingly abundantly above all we ask or think. For we love you, we need you, we want you, we seek you, and we appreciate you. Not for what you do, though we're thankful for what you do, but we appreciate who you are, because who you are means more to us than what you do. We bless you. We call people in this house blessed. We call their families blessed, their businesses blessed, their marriages blessed, their children blessed. Their grandchildren blessed, and we decree that something good is about to happen in our lives. In Jesus' name, amen and amen. Praise God! You may take your seat. I want to talk to you today on this subject that is simply entitled "I believe." in the power of God. I believe in the power of God. I believe in the power of God. Can you say that with me? I believe—
I believe—
In the power of God. In the power of God. I'm on a mission, and I feel like that God has me on a new assignment, and that assignment is to teach faith In the body of Christ. I'm a faith man. There are several stories and testimonies that I can share with you about how God has moved both in my personal life and in our ministries over the years through faith. I have found that faith, as imperative that it is that we live by it, it is one of the less taught on and preached on subjects in the church today. And I think that one of the reasons for that is because a lot of people does not identify with the necessity of faith. A lot of preachers does not have the clarity of faith. Faith is my gift. The Bible tells us in 1 Corinthians chapter number 12 that there are 9 different gifts of the Spirit.
Amen.
And it goes down the list and it gives us those gifts. There's the gift of healing. There's the gift Of the word of knowledge, the gift of prophecy, the gift of wisdom. There is the gift of speaking in tongues, the gift of interpretations of tongues, and then the Bible gets to the gift of faith. The Bible, however, informs us that not everyone has the gift of faith. God did not give to everyone the gift of faith, but according to Romans chapter 12, verse 3, he did give to everyone the measure of faith.
Amen.
He says, I've dealt to every man the measure of faith. The measure of faith is really the seed of faith, the ability to believe God for things your eyes have not seen. We identify that faith To be relative to saving faith, the ability to believe that Jesus Christ died on the cross for your sins, and on the 3rd day he ascended from the grave. Faith is so important, you would think that it is something that we would talk about quite often.
Amen.
The fact that it's so important means that it is something that we need to hear about more and more and more. I'm going to show you in Scriptures just how important faith is. The Bible says in the book of Romans chapter 1, verse 17, herein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith. In other words, God is saying that my righteousness in your life is revealed through faith. And then that verse 17 goes on to conclude by saying it is commanded, the just shall live by faith. We know in Numbers chapter 20, God gave Moses the 10 Commandments, right? And it goes down the list. Thou shalt not kill. Thou shalt not bear false witness. Thou shalt not steal. Thou shalt not commit adultery. Thou shalt not have no other gods before me. And we got 10 of those commandments. If there were to be an 11th commandment, that 11th commandment would be the just shall live by faith. In Romans 1:17, the word shall, S-H-A-L-L, It's the same word that is found in the Old Testament and number 20 within the Ten Commandments, just translated differently or spelled a little differently. Shalt, S-H-A-L-T, is in the Old Testament. Shall, S-H-A-L-L, is the New Testament translation. The word shalt is not optional. It's mandatory. It implies that this is something God established without compromise. Jesus made it very clear that in order to receive from him, you have to have faith. Paul goes on to say that whatsoever is not of faith is sin. Whatsoever is not of faith is sin. The reason I say if there were going to be an 11th commandment that it would be, you must live by faith, is because the commandments were given to bring people into harmony with God, oneness with God, alignment with God, right? That's the purpose of the commandments, to bring us into that relationship with God. To break the commandment means you miss the mark. That means you sinned, right? If the Bible says whatsoever is not of faith is sin, then it must be a commandment, because if it wasn't, not doing it would not be a violation. Not doing it Would not be a sin. So, the just shall live by faith. It's easy to understand when you take a look at God through the eyes of understanding. You see, God is a Spirit. He does not have flesh and bones. He does not have a physical body like you and I.
Amen.
So he can't be seen with the natural eyes. He, he's not tangible. He's not physical. He's not comprised of matter. So you can't walk over to him and touch him or shake his hand. And oftentimes people will go through their lifetime and never hear the voice of God because God Is very discreetly with whom he chooses to reveal his audible voice to. So you could be saved and live 80, 90, 100 years in this world and never see God, never touch God, and never hear God's voice. But yet he's there. Yet he's here. Yet he exists, yet he's everywhere. If you're going to receive from God, then you have to believe in a God you can't see, you can't touch, and you can't hear his audible voice. If you're going to receive from a God you can't see, hear, or touch, Then the question is, how are you going to receive? By faith. God wants to be believed in. He wants to be believed on. There's not many things in Scripture that you will find that God seeks after. There's not many things in scripture that you will find that God wants to receive from us. Can I say to you, he doesn't want your, your, your money as if to give that to him individually, although we do give to support the kingdom, because God cannot take your money to Walmart, Publix, Aldi's, and Target and buy a gallon of milk, a carton of eggs, and a loaf of bread. In fact, God says, the earth is mine and the fullness thereof.
Amen.
The silver and the gold is mine. The cattle on a thousand hills are mine. If I were hungry, I wouldn't ask you to feed me, because he is The Jehovah Jireh. It's his job to be the provider. He doesn't want much from us, but there, there are two things particularly that God does want or that God seeks after. Number one, he seeks true worshipers that will worship him in spirit and in truth. And number two, he seeks after folk to believe in him, to have faith in him, to trust him. Jesus, in the book of Mark chapter 11, verse 22, says, and I say unto you, have faith in God. Jesus is establishing a coalition Between heaven and earth, between divinity and humanity, between the spirit world and the physical world. And that, that adhesiveness that binds us to the miraculous supernatural power of the Almighty God comes through faith. Let me break it down for you. Are y'all still with me? Is this good so far?
Yes.
That's so good. Because we can't see God, because we can't touch God, and because we can't hear his audible voice, we have to find another way to have contact with God, and that is through his Holy Spirit. Amen. And it's like when a woman is pregnant with a child, She carries in her womb a baby, and when she wants to feed that baby, she eats. And whatever she eats, it goes into the baby, and the baby receives nourishment from the mother. She doesn't put it into the child's mouth. Or the baby's mouth. She simply eats, and it goes into the baby's body through what is called an umbilical cord. When we want to receive from God, God doesn't physically put bread on the table in front of us, but what he will do is release his provisions into our life.
Amen.
Through the umbilical cord. Through the umbilical cord. The umbilical cord between us and God is faith. When you operate by faith, you're able to download from heaven things that you can't make happen by yourself. When you operate by faith, God releases his power so that it can flow into your life. The Bible goes on in verse 23, Mark 11:23. After Jesus says, "Have faith in God," he said, "If thou shalt believe in your heart and confess with your mouth and speak to this mountain and say, 'Be thou removed and be thou cast into the sea,' and shall not doubt." But believe that those things which you said shall come to pass, you will have whatsoever you say. So mountains doesn't represent mountains like we know them in the earthly realm. Mountains here represents obstacles, right? It represents things that are insurmountable in your life, things that you can't do by yourself in your own strength.
Amen.
It represents stubborn things, things like cancer that says, I'm here to stay and I'm going to take you out. It represents things like different types of sicknesses and diseases by which they have no cure. It represents hardships. It represents storms. It represents perplexities in your life. It represents challenges. It represents the attacks of the enemy. It represents things like spiritual warfare. It represents things like issues that are beyond your control. Yet Jesus says if you speak to it and then believe in your heart that it's going to move, guess what, Jack? You got to get up out of here.
Yes.
It will be removed from out of my life. And so God wants to be believed. God wants people to have faith in him. God wants people to trust him. God is full of power, full of virtue, but he's waiting for people to have faith in him so that he can release his power and release his virtue in their life. Touch somebody on the shoulder and tell them, "This is good for me. This is good for me." The Bible says in the book of Hebrews chapter eleven verse one. Now faith is the substance of things hoped for. The word substance is the word ingredients, right? Faith is the main ingredients to hope. Faith is the main ingredient to hope for whatever you're hoping for. And the word hope means something good accompanied with the desire and the expectation of receiving it. Whatever you're hoping for, you got to have faith in order for your hope to manifest. Faith is the substance. Faith is the ingredients. Faith is the virtue of things hoped for. Faith produces the evidence of things not seen. But when you look at that verse a little bit closer, you can't go too far without stopping to acknowledge the first 2 words. The first 2 words Is now faith. Now faith. The word now is translated as present. Present faith. Faith that dwells in the present. Can I share with you that God has not given you the past to dwell in? Can I also share with you that God has not given you the future to dwell in? The past is gone, that shall not come back again. The past is in the tomb. Tomorrow, the future, is in the womb. What you have is today. Amen. Jesus says in Matthew 6, focus not on the things of tomorrow, for tomorrow will take care of the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day, this day, is the evil thereof. So he's saying focus on the present when it comes down to faith. It comes down to receiving from God. It requires present faith, now faith. What does it mean to have present faith? Well, I'm glad you asked. The Bible says in Mark 11:24 that thou, when thou prays, believe that you receive, and you will have. what you ask for. Believe that you receive, and you will have what you ask for. Question is, when do I believe? I believe the moment I pray. I believe that when I pray, 2 things: one, God hears my prayers, and God answers my prayers.
Amen.
And so when I'm going— when I'm coming to God for something, I'm coming with present faith. What is present faith? Faith that moves now. Amen. Faith that expects now. Faith that believes now. Faith that receives now. Here's an example. If I'm sick in my body, Or I've been diagnosed with a disease by the doctors. When I go to God, I don't go hoping that he heals me. I don't go wishing that he heals me. I don't go thinking that he heals me. I go knowing that I'm healed by his stripes.
So when I pray, I'm not praying for A futuristic healing.
I'm not praying for a healing tomorrow or next week. I'm praying for a healing right now, right here, right now, right here, right now. If I need a door open, I'm praying for a door to open right here, right now. If I need a breakthrough, I need a breakthrough right here, right now.
If I need favor, I need favor right here.
right now.
If I need a move of God, I need it right here, right now.
God says, be it unto you according to your faith, in Matthew 12. If it's going to be unto me according to my faith, then if I have present faith, then I can have present healing.
Amen. If I have present faith, I can have present breakthrough. If I have present faith, then I can have a present miracle. In other words, if I have now faith, I get now deliverance. If I have now faith, I get a now financial outpour in my life. What?
Then we're going to get crunk up in here. The Bible says in Hebrews 11:2, That through faith we understand. 11 and 2, that through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the Word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear. There's a parallel to that verse, which is 2 Corinthians 4:18. Which says, while we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen.
In other words, don't focus on your problems.
Don't focus on your issues. Don't focus on who's hating on you and who's trying to diss you on Facebook and Instagram and TikTok.
Don't focus on what they say, he say, she say. Focus on what God said about your life. Amen.
Because what is seen is temporal or temporary, but what you cannot see is eternal or everlasting.
Yes. What you see are your enemies. What you see is the doctor's report. What you see is the devil trying to attack you. What you see is the turmoil in your marriage. What you see is the insufficiency in your bank account. God says don't focus on that. Look beyond what you see and visualize what you can't see. For without a vision, people perish.
Proverbs 29:18.
And take a look at what you can't see. What, what can you not see? You can't see God. You can't see the power of God. But if you believe in the power of God, if you have faith in God, then what you can't see and who you can't see will give you the power to overcome what you can see.
So through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the Word of God so that things which are seen are not made from things which do appear. Worlds framed by the word. Worlds framed by the word. That means that everything that you see that exists in this world exists by what you can't see. What you can't see is the living word of God that spoke in Genesis and said, let there be light.
Whoo!
Can I work it for— I have no idea how much time I have, but, but I'm starting to feel good in here. Just, just give me a— when I get to 5 minutes, just let me know. Genesis chapter 1. In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. Or Genesis— St. John 1, rather. In the beginning was the Word, the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
That's right.
All things were made by him. Without him was not anything made that was made.
And in him was life, and the life was the light of men.
Drop down to verse 14, and the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us. Jesus created all things by the Word of God. Go to Genesis chapter 1, verse 1. In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. And the earth was without void, and— and was without form, and void, and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. Look at somebody and tell them, God is getting ready to move in this house today. Amen. And God said, let there be light, and there was. And God saw the light, that it was good. And God separated the light from the darkness, and the light he called day, and the darkness he called night. And the evening and the morning were the first day. God created all things by the power of his word.
And the Bible says in Hebrews 11:2 that through faith we understand that worlds are framed by the word of God, which means if God used the word to create this world I can use the Word to create my world. I can speak to my circumstances by faith. I can speak to my sickness by faith. I can speak to my children by faith. I can speak to my husband by faith. I can speak to my wife by faith. I can speak to my job by faith. I can speak to my bank account by faith and command for it to transform, to line up, to evolve, to develop and mature and become what God said it can become. Because when I speak the Word, By faith, the power of God moves with the Word.
Mark chapter 16, as Jesus begins to ascend back into heaven, he makes this profound statement. He says to the disciples, I'm giving you power, right? And then the Bible says that the disciples went forth preaching the Word with power and signs and wonders. Accompanied the word. Anytime you decree the word of God over your life by faith, look at somebody and tell them something good is going to happen in your life. Something good is going to happen in your life. Hebrews 11:3. For by it the elders obtained a good report. Then it goes on to talk a little bit about Cain and Abel, and then it talks a little bit about Abraham, or talks a little bit about Lot. I'm sorry, Enoch. That's who we're talking about, Enoch, in verse 5. But in verse 6, which is where I want to get to, but without faith it is impossible To please God. But without faith, it is impossible to please God. But without faith, it is impossible to please God.
What does that mean? That means you can do a whole lot of things right, baby. But if you can't believe God, trust God, and have faith in God, Then you are missing the mark. You can speak in tongues. You can have a Bible bigger than the hood of your car. You can go around and do all kind of good things to people.
But if you don't have faith, it is impossible to please God.
You can preach.
You can sing.
You can dance. You can work in the children's ministry. You can be a pastor, a bishop. A prophet, an apostle, an evangelist, a teacher. You can do whatever you want to do in his name, but if you don't have faith, it is still impossible to please God. For he that comes to God, the rest of verse six, must believe. Believe what? That he is. Come on, let's, let's park right there for a moment.
He is, he is, he is.
Look at somebody and tell them, he is, he is, he is. What, what does that mean to say he is?
Well, to understand what that means to say he is, we got to take a journey to the Old Testament where when God called this man named Moses and he says, Moses, I want you to go down to Egypt and tell Pharaoh that I said let my people go.
That's right. And when Moses said, well, tell me, God, who, who Who shall I say sent me? And before God answered, God had to stop and think a moment and say, oh, that's a good question. Who am I you're asking? Who shall I tell you to tell Pharaoh that I sent you?
He says, let me think for a moment.
He thought about it for a moment.
He said, well, I can't say that I'm just a healer because I'm more than a healer. I'm a healer and a deliverer. But I can't say I'm just a healer and a deliverer because I'm more than a healer and a deliverer. I'm also a waymaker.
I can't say I'm just a waymaker and a deliverer and a healer because I'm also the lifter of your head. I can't say that I'm just those things because I'm also your provider. I can't say that I'm just those things because I'm also your battle axe. I can't say that I'm just those things because I'm also your knight in shining armor. I can't say that I'm just that because I'm so much more than that. He said, I got it. You tell Pharaoh, I am. that I am sent you. What does that mean? That means I am to you whatever you believe me to be. I can do for you whatever you believe I can do, for I am able to do exceedingly abundantly above all you ask or think. Say, ask somebody! Ask somebody!
Good God Almighty, I'm starting to feel it in this house. Sit down. I'm just getting crunk.
Hallelujah!
So, so, so, so the Bible says, back to Hebrews 11:6, for he that comes to God must believe that he is.
What, what is he is?
He is is the New Testament translation for I am.
You, you got to believe that he is. So whatever your needs are, if you're going to God, God says, when you come to me, come with your faith already made up. Come with your mind already made up. Come with your heart already fixed. Come in faith. Don't come because you got deadlines and mandates and you need $777 by the 17th. 17th of the month, but come to me believing that whatsoever you need, I am your Jehovah Jireh, and I shall provide according to all your need. Slap somebody a high five and tell them, it's getting hot in here.
It's getting hot in here.
It's getting hot in here. I feel like busting loose. God says, come to me knowing that whatever you need from me, that I don't have to consult anybody. I don't have to go to anybody. I don't need a committee. I don't need for people to vote. I need to know that you believe I'm able to do this.
Let me digress one more time. There's this man in Matthew 17 comes to Jesus and he's blind and he needs a healing. And he says to Jesus, if thou will, you can make me whole. Jesus proposed this question. He said, "Do thou believe I'm able to do this?" The man replied, "Yes." Jesus says, "Okay, then be it unto you according to your faith. According to your faith." Go back to original scripture Ephesians 3:20. Now unto him. that is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all you ask or think according to. You see the, the connection here? According to. So when I say to you, which is the title of the message, I Believe in the Power of God, I'm saying to you, I believe that if I have faith, God will do in my life whatever I believe him for. Amen.
