I Promise Me! Part 2

Rico Sharp argues that comparing yourself to others wastes energy. Instead, focus on self-education, expand your mind, and keep your promises to yourself. He cites Steve Jobs and Mark Zuckerberg as examples of people who built empires from ideas, and shares his own journey from drug dealer to 30-year public speaker without a degree.

Point number 4, mind your business and business your mind. Mind your business and business your mind. I promise me that I will remain focused on my personal and professional life without comparing and competing with other people. Look, it doesn't matter what kind of car somebody else roll up in, in the parking lot. It It doesn't matter what someone else is going to school for and what— how long it take them to graduate and what their degrees are, right? What matters is what your goals are. What matters is what your visions are. What matters is what you're able to do for you. What matters is what you're able to do for your kids, right? Your household, your family, right? What matters is that you're pursuing your dream, your goals. What matters is that you're building a life for yourself. That's what matters. Doesn't matter what someone else has going on. So, So it's important that you mind your business. Help me to share this message and look at somebody and tell them, mind your business, okay? Mind your business. Mind your business. Get all up out of mine, right? And not only mind your business, but business your mind. What does that mean? It means take every opportunity to further educate yourself, right? Put your money in your mind. Read, buy books, right? Study. Even when you don't have to study, study anyway. Even when you're not in school, create a school in your garage, create a school in your bedroom, create a school in your living room, create a school in your front room. Do something more. Go the extra mile. Because the more you invest into you, the more you're going to get out of you. The more you invest into education, the more you're going to get out of life. The more you invest into knowledge, the more powerful you become. People who invest into their minds, they become tomorrow thinkers in today's world. They lead us into innovation. They share ideas and concepts. They, they give us their creativity. We're, we're, we admire their uniqueness. And they create iPhones for Apple, you know, like Steve Jobs. They create things that we've not seen before. They're the ones that's behind artificial intelligence. And, and the thing is, is that if anyone can do it, then you can do it too. If Mark Zuckerberg can create Facebook, then you can create the next big social media site, right? If Jack Dorsey can create Twitter, you can create the next big movement. Whatever someone else has done to accomplish greatness, you can do it too. What, what's, what's the difference between them and you? Nothing. There is no real difference that separates us other than the fact that some of us us, we go the extra mile to expand our thinking and expand our mindset. I came from being a drug dealer, and now I'm traveling, speaking to people, and I've been doing it for over 30 years. And I'm speaking to people who have college degrees. I don't have a college degree. I'm not proud of that, but that's my reality. But what I am proud of is that I didn't give up on me. And when everybody else gave up on me, I said, Rico, I would not give up on me. I made a I made a promise to myself, ladies and gentlemen, that I'm going to give myself a fighting chance at life. And I want to submit to you today that you have to do the same thing. Become the best version of yourself, not a duplicate or a carbon copy of someone else. Point number 5. Continue
