I’m not wearing cologne, my confidence is what you smell on me. #motivation

A motivational speaker argues confidence matters more than external validation, using the Chinese bamboo tree story to show why long-term commitment pays off. He repeats "quitting is not an option" to build mental toughness and frames his brother's death as fuel to keep striving.

Even without your validation, I have the confidence to believe in me. You see, I've seen myself do too many things, overcome too much obstacles and adversity. I have so much confidence in me, I don't even have to wear cologne. That's, that's my confidence. You don't see me laughing. People who lack confidence consider other people's confidence arrogance. Mm-hmm. Because when you lack confidence and you see other people walking in the light of their confidence, to you, you can't comprehend that. That comes across as arrogance, but it's not arrogance, it's confidence. You need some confidence in your life. Right. And the more you have, the better you are, the better off you are, because with confidence you can do things you never imagined you can do. It, it gives me energy when people doubt me. I'm motivated by it. I'm inspired by people's lack of belief in me and lack of confidence in me. Tell me what I can't do. I can't. I'll show you what I can. Number 8, quitting is not an option. I got 2 more. Quitting is not an option. Discipline your mind with mental toughness for overcoming adversity and unexpected setbacks. Quitting is not an option. Say this with me: quitting, quitting is not an option. It's not an option. There's a tree that grows in China. It's called the China bamboo tree. This is a very particular tree, unlike any other tree. This tree is in the form of a seed like all other trees, but when you plant this tree, this tree you have to water and fertilize for 5 years before you see any manifestation on top of the surface of the ground. For five years, you got to water and fertilize that tree. But at the end of five years, it grows to be ninety feet tall within two weeks. Wow! Is that true? This tree grows in China. It's called a Chinese bamboo tree. And so my point, ladies and gentlemen, is that when you are working on a dream. When you're working on a goal, when you're working on giving life all you have to give, then you want to make sure that you are set in for the long haul. Mm-hmm. Because things are not going to happen right away. Things are not going to happen as much as you would want it to happen or as fast as you would want it to happen. But I need you to be committed to you. I need you to be committed to your commitment. I need you to be dedicated to you. I need you to be dedicated to your dedication. I need you to be devoted to you, and I need you to devote yourself to your devotion. I need you to make a promise to you, and I need you to promise that you promise you that you will not give up on the promise you promise you. I need you to determine quitting is not an option for my life. Say this with me: quitting is not an option. It takes mental toughness to Keep going. Well, I didn't really want you to say that. Number nine: Always have a winning attitude. Winning is a mentality. All I do is win, win, win. Winning is a mentality. You, you, you, you, you gotta have one in everything. When you feel like quitting, that's the point when you're at the close— you're closer to your breakthrough than you've ever been before. That's the point when the pressure is on your life. The darkest hour is before dawn. When you feel like giving up, that's when you're at the threshold of what you've been working on. Right. Because that's when you're under the most extreme pressure. That's when pressure builds up the most, when you're right there at the threshold of what you're working on. Even if it takes 5 years, 10 years, 15 years, remember that Chinese bamboo tree. I know I planted something, and even if I don't see the results right now, I will not quit. I will not give up on me because I am a winner. You've heard it like this before: quitters never win, and winners never quit. Never quit. Winning is a mentality which is developed through the engaging of your willpower. I will win, ladies and gentlemen. My brother passed away.
