Uncover hidden talents, train new leaders, and build a legacy beyond a paycheck.

Being a leader on the ship or being in leadership is not about promoting you, but rather about you promoting the company and the sellers on your ship. I kind of alluded to this earlier. You're there to promote the company. You're there to promote the people around you or the team under your leadership. Can I, can I honestly say to you that your focus should be on promoting the people that works with you. Yes. It really should. Listen, if you focus on promoting the people who works with you, automatically you're going to be promoted. Your job as a leader is to raise people up, bring people up to their next level. And what you do as a leader matters to other people's ability or willingness to follow you. It takes teamwork to make the dream work. You've heard that 1,010 times, I'm sure. And being the GLOAT— I call it the GLOAT, that's the greatest leader of all time— is what makes the ship float. Look at somebody and tell them, you're the GLOAT. You're the GLOAT. That's who you are. You're the greatest leader of all time, and your job is to make sure that that ship stays afloat. Number 9, let's talk about leadership position. They hire you and gave you a lead position on the ship so that you can help their ship, their agency, department make it to its destination. What is the destination? The next level of productivity, right? Use your leadership position to unite your department and maximize your team potential. A great leader finds ways to bring people together for a common cause or greater good. A great leader brings out his or her own treasure of leadership from within. This allows the leader to identify and extrapolate hidden treasures from within others. It takes a leader to train leaders. It takes a great leader to raise up leaders. It takes a great leader to identify other leaders. When you were employed, you were employed so that you can be an effective leader that brings the best out of other people and help them to maximize their leadership potential. What you do matters. How you govern yourself matters. Your mentality toward the agency that you're employed by, it matters. You don't want to just hold a position, you want to maximize that position. You don't just want to go to work and get a paycheck, you want to know that you're building a legacy for yourself. You see, people's mindset has a lot to do with their leadership. mentality or leadership position. Their mentality has a lot to do with their leadership productivity. Their mentality has a lot to do with their leadership contributions. Their mentality has a lot to do with how they inspire other people. If you go to work like, oh God, I, I really don't want to be here today, I should have took some time off, I should have used some of my sick days— if you're going to work like you don't really want to be around certain people, you don't want to be there, I can tell you right now, you're not making a difference in that place. That's right. Yes. You're not positively inspiring anybody. Are you going to have some hard days? Yes. Are you going to have some tough times? Yes. Are you going to feel like not going to work? Yes. But if you decide to go, when you show up, we need all of you to show up, the best of you to show up, your A-game to show up. I need you to give all that you have to give and to bring the best out of you because that's your position. To do so, you have a leadership position. Say this with me: leadership position. And then not only do you have leadership position, but you have leadership potential, right? When you put somebody in leadership, you gotta.
