We cling to self-defeating stories we've told ourselves for so long they feel true. The speaker argues you should stop being loyal to narratives that separate you from loved ones, your higher self, or purpose, and replace them with ones that actually serve you.
Chapters
Don't have a loyalty to something that's not loyal to you. We have stories that we've told ourselves for so long, we are convinced they are utterly true, and we have plenty of references to back it up, and we can have other people show us and back us up, but it doesn't make your life an ounce better. We want a greater quality of life. What's getting in the way? Only what you're doing in your head. So change it. Don't have a loyalty to something that's not loyal to you. A story that disempowers you. A story that separates you from someone you love. A story that separates you from your higher self or your higher purpose. If the story doesn't make you joyous and happy and fulfilled and grateful and feel like your life is meaningful, then it's obviously a false story. Because everything has a higher purpose. Change your story, change your life.
