A car enthusiast bought a Toyota GR Yaris after reading glowing reviews, suspecting critics were paid off. The 3-cylinder engine proved underpowered for his daily M42 commute in traffic, leaving him feeling scammed by both the car and the hype around it.

Worst car you ever bought? Everybody loves them. I bought one and I was like, they've got to be good. And I'm sure everybody who said they were good was being paid. Every sort of like us who was a car critic was like, oh, this car's amazing, this is this, this is this. And that car's great if you drive it within an inch of its life, the car comes alive. But with a 3-cylinder engine and going from my house to work on the M42 in traffic did nothing. It was Toyota GR Yaris.
