Eddie Hall Reveals The Truth on Confronting Stalkers Controversy

Eddie Hall confronted fans who blocked his driveway honking horns at 9 pm on a bank holiday. A clip went viral with 13 million views, tanking his website sales overnight, but his YouTube response with CCTV footage turned public opinion around and stopped the doorstep visits.
Can you set a straight on what really happened when you were caught threatening to rip someone's head off?
I was wondering what you're gonna ask me. I mean, geez, man. I mean, look, you. You've. You've seen my house. You know, it's a very recognizable house. It's the talk of the town. You know, everybody knows where Eddie all lives, which is fine. I mean, you.
I mean, it's obvious at the gates.
Yeah, yeah, it's. I can't. I can't. Unless I lived out in the countryside, which I just can't do to my family. Just away from my family. All my family's around here. Yeah. I just. There's no way. There's no way around it. I'm gonna get noticed.
Yeah.
You know, and the house is going to get noticed. The vehicles are gonna get the tank. There's just no hiding. Where I live, there's no hiding it. So attention comes, you know, and attention comes when I'm out and about, when I'm out with my kids, you know, go to restaurants, go to supermarket. It's just a. A constant. I don't want to say a drag, because it's not, you know, I. I appreciate it, but it's a constant, like, pull on my life. It's a constant pull. So I guess when I'm out and about and I'm getting all that attention and I'm with my family, you know, I'm pushing my kids on the swing, and somebody's asking me for a picture. Yeah. You know, I mean, in a meal with my family, and someone's asking me for a picture. So I guess when I have all that. You want to come back to escape. Right. So this is. This is like my castle. Yeah. This is the place I. I get away from all that. I get away from all that hassle, all the pictures, all the questions, all the whatever. I get away from it all. It's all happened. That. That's where the peace and. And the chaos divides. Right. So people coming to my house disrupts that. That divide. That. That peace and chaos, and when that divide is disrupted is when I lose my. Yeah. I just. I cannot stand it when people think that they own me or own a part of me or deserve to take a bit of my private life and make it theirs. That's where. That's where it starts and begins and ends right in there. Yeah. So they were the first ones to come to my house and ask for pictures and knock on and whatever else. And they probably won't be the Last. But usually when people hang around or knock on, you know, they usually. I'll. Can I have a picture about. No. Look, this is my place of peace. This is my home and I can't do a picture review because if I do one with you, you'll put it online and then everybody knows you can go to the mouse and do a picture. So out of principle, I just cannot do a picture. Very sorry. See you on the street, you know, come, come meet me in Expo, whatever. So. And they always understand and they always walk away like, I'm sorry for disturbing you. And they bug. Yeah, right, these. So they turn up outside my house at nine o' clock on a bank holiday Monday. Kids are being put in bed. Youngest one of them's in bed, one of them's been put to bed. And they come back, the Dr. The honking the horns as they're driving past. They come back round and they sit right outside my driveway, like, blocking the driveway with the cars. And then there's one the other side and there's one the other side of the road. So it looks like a gang's turned up to my house. Now. I just happened. I'm not here very often, if I'm being honest. So I just happened to be in the garden with my son, having a cigar by a fire pit, just enjoying myself, just, you know, a bit of quality time with my son. And Alex rings me up. I said, there's someone at the gate. Right, you need to go and tell them to off now. And I had. I had no idea what had gone on. And she's. And then she tells me quickly what's happened. So Alex had asked him to go out, she went out. So can you move on, please? They said, no. Basically we just, you know, you can't tell us what to do. She left it 5, 10 minutes, went back out again. I can't remember. The people start saying, you're making up here. But you can go back on the YouTube video I made and see exactly what happened. She went back out, asked him again, maybe a third time. And then she came to me and said, look, there's some people outside, they won't leave. They keep beeping the horns. And I could hear horns going. But that's quite common, you know, you get people driving past, hogging horns. I just like, whatever, it don't bother me. But she came to me and told me and I just. When she told me she'd asked him to leave three times over the space of 20 minutes, I just got in my head, like, I'm not around with these people. Like, it's 9 o' clock at night, my kids are in bed. It's my place of peace. They're going like, I don't want to hear what they've got to say. I don't want to hear. They want a pitch. I don't want to hear that. The fans just off, right? So that's exactly what I do. I go out and I say, mate, I don't care what you're going to say. Don't care what you want. This is the first car, Just drive away. Just get away from my house. This is my place of peace. And then go to the second car. He understood the assignment. You could see how angry I was. He just began to drive off. And then the third car was the one parked at Simon Gate. And yeah, I mean, you'll see the interaction. But yeah, I just sort of, you know, just, mate, just off. I don't. I don't care what you want, what you want to say. Off. And he said, oh, yeah, but I just want a picture. And I'm like, I don't care, just get the. Away from house. Yeah, but my kids, my kids just want a picture. Like, you're upsetting my kids. And I'm like, you know, just in the heat at the moment. Just like, mate, I don't give a. About your kids. What about my kids that you're waking up beeping your horn. I said, just off. And as he put it in gear and drove off, and as he was driving off, he lit me dead in the eyes and said, I'm gonna knock you the out. And honestly, you know when you just see red, like nothing was stopping me. You could have had a brick wall in front of me, I would have knocked it down to get to this. Anyway, luckily he just drove away and I, in chase in my Crocs, gave him a little bit of a chase. And I saw one of them was filming. We went to grab his phone, didn't quite get it. I was just gonna get his phone and throw it in a bush just like you look. And then the next, like, within an hour it was online, right? So we're talking like half past ten on a. On a bank holiday Monday night. I was so chill. And then my. My phone just lights up, just bing, bing, bing, bing. And I'm like, Jesus. And it got online. And within, I'm gonna say within an hour, I had something like 13 million views, right? The sun had reposted it. All the, all the shitty, crappy news. English Newspapers, the, what you call them, the, the tabloids, whatever, they just grabbed it and just threw it everywhere. And of course the title was Roid Rage Road Rage. Like, and it just made out as though I just done this on the street. Like I just chased these guys and it upset these guys, kids. And I was screaming and shouting and threatened to kill people. And so it just painted me as this absolute ogre, like this guy that just wants to kill kids. And, and you know, it just, it just made me look so bad. And I was reading the Cat within the hour at something like 6,6000 comments, let's say. And I didn't see one positive comment, not a one. I was, it was all like, what a cunt. Let's all go to his house. What a knob. Disgusting. I hope he gets canceled. It was just one after the other and it was just getting worse and worse and worse. So I, I didn't sleep a wing so I had to like read all this. I managed to get like an hour's sleep. Woke up in the morning, I was like, right, my brother hung me up sort of mid morning and he's in charge of like my companies and everything. And he went, just so you know, Ed, he said, I've seen what's, what's going on. He said, just so you know, your, your websites have done zero sales this morning. Zero. He said, that's never happened before. He said, you're being canceled. And I was like, what?
Zero?
Say zero. All my sites.
I thought you were gonna say it blown up.
Zero. Like it, you know, we're talking a lot of money. Yeah, absolutely zero. And I employ a lot of people. So obviously that just put the panic through absolutely everybody in the family and the businesses. And he sort of said like I wasn't going to do anything about it. And he was just like, ed, you've got to do a response. So I was like, right, okay, I've got to get the truth out there. And then I obviously managed to muster all the cct, cctv, get all that together, did a voiceover, did or whatever, sat down in my office, did all that. And I sent it me editor. And I was just like, is this going to work? Is this going to get my reputation back? Yeah. And luckily it all changed. It just went completely the other way. It was like, oh my God, so justified in this. Like those guys, I was on their side to begin with, but now they themselves and it just completely reversed. It just, it went completely the other way. So thankfully that sort of statement on my YouTube channel put everybody right. I'm sure there'll be people out there that didn't watch that statement, that will have just seen those, you know, the tabloid headlines and then that's it. They just make the decision, don't they?
Yeah.
You know, I'll always be that road rage that chase kids down the street. So the damage was done, like, no matter what damage has done. But it was to get my fans back on side of, like, I am not that person. I don't go out and scream at people for no reason. These are outside my house for 20 minutes, honking their horns, telling my wife to off and whatever else. So, yeah, there's limits and there's boundaries that if you pushed, things can happen. And that was just one of those times. But I will say this. Since that incident, I've had one person knock on my house. One person, and it was an old man asking me to move a radiator in his house.
So everyone's got the message.
So everybody. So I'm actually as stressful as it was at the time. I am super thankful that it happened because it's made people aware that, you know, somebody's place of peace is their place of peace and you should not disturb it. So it's actually done me a massive favor. Yeah.
I mean, how can anyone in their right mind think they're going to get a photo after all that? I'll just piss the world's strongest man off for 20 minutes even more and I'll get my photo.
I honestly, it just, it's beyond me. But you'd be amazed what people do for. To get their precious picture for Facebook or Instagram. You know, people will do anything and they don't give a who the upset or.
But isn't it better to, like, have a good engagement with the person? I'd never want a photo.
I would say so I'd want to.
Get on with the person, not have a photo.
Yeah. I much more appreciate, like, if I'm out with my family, someone just coming up to me like, hey, and how you doing, man? You're okay? Great work. Like, great content. See a bit, mate, I. I love that. Yeah. But when people come up, can I can. I didn't even ask me how I am. No, they ignore my family, which is good in a way. Yeah. It's like, let's have a quick picture. And I'm like, mate, I'm with my family. Yeah, There was an incident and this, this is the main reason I don't do pictures when I'm with my Family now. So there was an incident, and this happened quite recently, where I was in a park and I was pushing my kids, both my kids on this swing, on the. Like, a big circle swing. And I would say at least three people came and asked me for a picture. Why? So I was pushing my kids on the swing, and every time I was like, no, I'm sorry, I can't take my eyes off my kids. Like, I'm pushing my kids on the swing. And everyone was like, oh, sorry, sorry, sorry. So they get it, right, that journey from the park to my car. Another 10 pictures, and I do them, you know, if I'm not, whatever, I'll do my pictures. And then I was putting my youngest daughter, she was only eight months at the time, I was putting it into a car seat, right? And it's a very bucket car seat. So I'm strapping her in. And then some. Someone taps him in the shoulder. Eddie, can I have a quick picture? And I turn around. I was gonna say, no, like, I'm. I'm busy. I turned around as a little boy there, Nan, granddad, mom, dad, brothers, sisters. And they're all like that say, okay, right, let's do this picture. So I do this picture, right. Thank you very much. They. They bugger off. As I turn back round, my daughter fell out the car seat. Yeah. Head first on the floor, completely knocked out. Right. Unconscious. And I picked her up and she's literally. Have you ever seen someone break the back? And they go, like. They go, like, spasm.
Oh, wow.
And she went into this light. She was like a board. Just went. No, no noise from her. Just went stiff as a board. And I was instantly like. I was like. I broke her back or something. So she's unconscious. So I chucked her in this. In the car, drove to the hospital at 100 miles an hour, got in there and got that dealt with. But it was the fact that this family is so innocent, isn't it? Yeah, it's so innocent. Asking me for a picture when I wear my face sounds so innocent. But that. That picture resulted in my daughter going to A E. And it's. It's like people just don't think about that kind of, you know, when I'm pushing my kids on this. Let's say I did that picture with somebody when I'm pushing my kids on the swing and I turned back and when I was on the floor with a broken neck. It's just. People just don't respect those boundaries. And that's what. That's what boils me a little bit. It's like, you got to respect those boundaries when a man's with his family. Leave him alone, Sam.
