Eddie Hall signed up for a four-way MMA fight against Brian Shaw, Mitchell Hooper, and Martin Ford for £20 million. He trained for six months, but the organiser was arrested for fraud and the fight was cancelled. He never got paid.
Why MMA now after the fight with Thor, is just like come back for a year and a half of just letting go. It was like a nice big reset. And then the challenge it came along to fight Brian Shaw, Mitchell Hooper and Martin ford in a four way MMA fight for 20 million. I think I was going to fight Mitchell Hooper and then the winner of that one would fight the winner of Martin Ford, Brian Shaw. So I signed this deal like life changing money. During that six month period, I just really enjoyed myself learning something new every single day. And then that fight got cancelled. The Ministry of Sport got arrested for fraud and that big paycheck fucking fell through and I never got a penny.
