Rob Moore got stuck in the UK during COVID lockdowns after trying to escape from Costa Rica. He was stranded for three months when borders closed and his visa was cancelled at Amsterdam airport, unable to reach Dubai or leave the country.
I got stuck in the uk. Three months, covert time. I was traveling in Costa Rica. I was partying. I went to my local Subway sandwich store. All the chairs were up. Like, what's going on? She goes, you don't see the news? I'm like, no, I've been partying. She's like, yeah, we're closing the airport tomorrow, seven o'. Clock. She goes, covered it. Ended up hitting us very bad. Got to Spain, flights were getting canceled by the minute. He got me on an emergency flight from Spain to the uk. Got to the uk, gone to check in to flight of Dubai. Boom. Dubai closed its borders. So I got stuck in London in a tank top, in a pair of shorts. Just bought 2 pairs of tracksuit pants and a jumper just in case I needed it. Then I rang my cousin. Okay, meet me in Amsterdam. I flew to Amsterdam. He drove to Amsterdam. I get there, they won't let me out of the airport. Why? Schengen. Visas are cancelled at the moment because of COVID Where do I go? Sleep on the couch. Back to the UK the next day, three months later, they opened the country.
