Ryan Maloney shows how to build a 3D box in After Effects using the Create 3D Shapes plugin from aescripts.com. You create a solid layer, convert it to 3D, then run the plugin to generate a box you can customize with text, images, or character layers on each face.

Let's create this 3D box in After Effects. Go over to aescripts.com and search for Create 3D Shapes. This is an older plugin, so you can name your own price. I'm gonna create one solid layer, get a 3D layer, then you go down to Window, Create 3D Box, and hit Create. What you can do from there is pretty much endless. You can put text, images, characters on each side of that box, spin things around, and make a 3D environment right within After Effects.
