Ryan Maloney draws a butterfly character inspired by Lil Yachty, building each part on separate layers for animation in After Effects. He uses sketchy lines and simple shapes, adds a gold chain and crossed arms for personality, and plans to animate the wings flapping.

In this scene, I'm designing a butterfly that looks like Lil Yachty. I'm designing all the shapes on separate layers so I can animate them in After Effects afterwards. I design a couple mouth poses, eye blinks, and then hair to look like Lil Yachty's. I like to draw with simple shapes and imperfect lines to make my drawings look a little bit weirder. It's gonna have crossed arms, a gold chain, and for the wings, I'm just gonna make it up as I go and add a bunch of colors. Doesn't need to be perfect. All the wings flap in After Effects.
