Ryan Maloney shows how to draw Tilt step by step, starting with an upside-down U for the head and adding simple dots and lines for the face. The character wears a red vest, green backpack, and blue pants, with hair made from five waves and a parting line.

Draw Tilt. Draw an upside-down U, put in two dots for his eyes, half a square for his nose, mouth is sideways bent U. The expressions can change. Sometimes it's an O, sort of an upside-down rounded A. Just put some simple ears, eyebrows over top. Hair, three waves that way, two waves that way, three waves on top, one parting wave, three over here. Tilt's body, he wears a red vest. Collar loops here, straight down, draw his shoulders here. His arms would be straight out. He has three fingers. His shoes are sort of combat boots. Shoes. For all the character colors in this book, I created a color palette. They're all stored right here. Red vest, green backpack, blue pants, bright blue sleeves. That's a super fast way I color in my characters. Obviously, they're a little bit cleaner in the book.
