Ryan Maloney says Bored Apes and Pudgy Penguins killed the NFT art hype cycle. Future NFTs will survive only if they do something useful and build community. Eventually the word NFT disappears, like MP3 did, because the tech becomes invisible.

NFTs as we know it, the Bored Apes, the Pudgy Penguins, all the cool art brands that were super hot, but then they fizzled out. We're not only in a bear market, but I don't think we're going to see that rise again in that type of NFT. When NFTs come back in the future, it's going to be community and utility based. The term NFT will fade away like the MP3. This seems like NFTs are completely dead and gone, but when they come back, you won't even notice them. They'll be used so often.
