Auto lip syncing draws 12 mouth shapes and syncs them to audio automatically. The timeline camera brings After Effects-style movement into Animate. The brush tool creates rough, dirty lines that feel like classic Flash.

Here are 3 of my favorite features in Adobe Animate. First one is auto lip syncing. Draw your mouth shapes 12 different ways and it'll auto lip sync to your audio track. Next is the timeline camera. This makes Adobe Animate a lot more like Adobe After Effects and really eliminates my need for Adobe After Effects in a lot of cases. And the third are the drawing tools. Maybe it's just me, but I don't think there's another app that draws quite like Animate, and it's been that way ever since Macromedia Flash. I just like rough and dirty lines, and the brush tool is super easy to work work with. I'm starting to draw cartoons more with my thumb on the trackpad like I used to back in the day with Flash. I used to love to make cartoons in Macromedia Flash, and a lot of people think that program is dead, but this year Adobe Animate has stepped up its game so much. I'm a big fan.
