Ryan Maloney proposes adding physical buttons to the Apple Pencil so Procreate users can control the app without constantly tapping the screen. He built a prototype and walks through why it would work, but isn't sure if he'll actually make it.

Here's a product idea I'll never create. Why don't Apple Pencils have buttons? I want to be able to draw in Procreate without tapping. Too much tapping. This thing needs buttons. Tap, tap. Here goes my mind thinking I can create this, writing out a plan, having fun with it. You have to wait to watch this amazing prototype I put together. It's absolutely amazing. I've been seeing these Procreate keyboards on the internet, but they just look so big and clunky. I just want to be able to push a few buttons on my pen. Anytime I push a button, it'll interact with Procreate and save me a bunch of time. Look at that prototype. Now, will I actually make this? I don't know.
