Ryan Maloney launched Crunchy Cows NFTs while staying anonymous, but discovered buyers chose his project specifically because they knew him. He argues that as NFTs go mainstream, creators will have to reveal their identities to build trust. He only buys NFTs from artists he knows.

I hate putting my face on camera more than anything in the world. And then when I launched Crunchy Cows, I didn't even realize the founders of Bored Apes weren't doxxed. And I'm like, I'm just gonna— I'm gonna keep running with this. And then people started to tell me, we bought Crunchy Cows because we knew you. When NFTs become more mainstream and widely used, you're not going to be able to hide behind a screen or a handle name. You're going to need to put your face out there because people are buying you because they trust you. I only buy NFTs where I know the artist.
