Penny, Preston, and Peter peered at each other but didn't make a peep. You could hear a pin drop between those stadium seats. But before the pelicans and parrots plunged in for a snack, the eaters put their heads together and they made a pact. They looked those pancake piles up and down from the ground to the cloud, then poked those pancakes over into the crowd. It was a spectacle no one had ever seen. Falling pancakes were plastered on the covers of magazines. Proud parents would tell their peers. Penny, Preston, and Peter would dream of the cheers. And papas placed pieces of pancakes on shelves as souvenirs. People packed parkways to watch parades of marching bands while President Prescott pitched perfectly wrapped presents into the palms of their hands. But he didn't pass out pickles, not pennies nor padlocks, not pizza nor postcards, not even paint smocks. So what could have possibly been in that box? Please, you know precisely what was in that box. Say it with me, for goodness' sakes. Pancakes, pancakes, pancakes.
