Ryan Maloney explains Procreate's Page Assist feature, which pages through layers within a single file. The problem: each page can be 30 MB, making a 400-page book impossibly large. He suggests Page Assist should toggle between separate Procreate files instead to cut file size and speed up work.

Let's talk about Page Assist in Procreate. Now this video is not going to be 100% positive for Procreate. Everybody knows Procreate is one of the best apps in the world. It is the smoothest drawing program. I'm just nitpicking here, but here's one thing I would like to see them do differently with Page Assist. Right now Page Assist lets you page through different layers or groups of layers within a file. So you can see here I'm clicking between this, this group and this group. So this would be one page and this would be one page. My problem with that is my file sizes are pretty big. So each one of the pages of a book that I'm working on are around 30 megabytes. If I created and I have 400 pages, how would I create that in this one file? What I would rather see is this Page Assist somehow goes out and lets you toggle through different Procreate pages that would save on file size and let you create artwork faster.
