I get this question all the time in the comments, and I answer it the same way every time. If you want to write and illustrate a book, I wouldn't worry about how much money you're going to make from it at the beginning. Even the top authors in the world don't make a lot of money off their books. For me personally, I can't help but make them. These ideas just won't leave me alone. It's also fun to try to create something that you've never seen or read before. At the least, these books are vehicles for people to discover your other work. Moving something from an idea to a finished product strengthens your creative muscles. Conversations about your book will lead to new opportunities.
