Ryan Maloney reviews XLayout's X-Arm, a desk mount for iPads and phones. He was skeptical about needing another gadget, but loves the satisfying click mechanism and how it takes up almost no desk space. He uses it to keep storyboards visible on the left side of his workspace while he works.

I didn't know I needed this. This is the X-Arm from XLayout. This mounts an iPad or a phone on your desk. I thought this might end up in a graveyard of other things like this that I've tried in the past, but I actually really like it. I like that click. The way I'm using it is keeping my storyboards over the left on my iPad while I work. Other things take up a lot of desk space. This takes up no space at all.
