Hello everyone, and welcome to a very, very special episode of Perfect Practice. Today I have a dear friend and mentor of mine, Dr. Robert Rakowski. You might know him as Dr. Bob and he's just an amazing, amazing guy. So I'm super thrilled and honored to be sharing his wisdom and his knowledge and his experience with you today. Today's episode, we're going to be focusing on why it's important for you, as a functional medicine practitioner, or really anyone on this planet, to be generating passive sources of income and residual sources of income. One of my philosophies is that you should be making residual income if you're having residual or providing people with residual benefits, and especially if you're providing it in a highly ethical way that aligns with your beliefs and your philosophy. So with no further delay, welcome, Dr. Rakowski.
Thanks. I love the idea of the perfect practice. And I have to tell you, I've spent more than a quarter century going from far less than perfect to migrating towards that model that you promote so well.
Yes. And it's a constant evolution. So one of the things that I do want to highlight, for those of you who, who've been living under a rock and don't know who Dr. Rakowsky is, he's been in clinical practice for 26 years. He's trained other doctors with over 10,000 hours of teaching experience. He's been all over the world. He's lectured for Metagenics, Nutridyne and many other companies. And he's got postgraduate training in nutrition, which he's very famous for, acupuncture and also applied kinesiology. His practice includes a list members of our society, including 50 plus Olympians, athletes from every American sport. And he's helped people who are critically ill and chronically ill recover and regenerate their health. So you know somebody whose wisdom you should definitely pay very close attention to. And I encourage you, if you haven't been already, follow him on Facebook and you'll see just the amazing information that he shares and knowledge that he shares from the hundreds of books that he's read. He's just an encyclopedia of wisdom. Not just, you know, read wisdom, but experienced wisdom. So we're really, really blessed to have him sharing this with us today. Now, since our topic is, you know, passive and residual income, there's many different ways to generate passive income. So, Dr. Bob, if we can start by maybe sharing what are some of your passive sources, sources of revenue?
Well, we might even do it chronologically. So it's a very. The very first thing I did in clinical practice was embrace the idea of clinical nutrition. You know, one of my great mentors told me that profits or products are actually more effective than services. Right. Because services, you're going to hit a bottleneck quick, but products, you can essentially create hundreds of thousands, millions of dollars in sales and even beyond that, as long as you're connected to the right sources of that. So the first thing I did was start putting people on really good nutrition programs and get them on the. That they're going to want to pay attention to that for the rest of their life. You know, Eventually I moved into real estate. So my wife and I have commercial and residential real estate that takes a little bit of an investment. Right. And certainly we, I tell people we lost half a million before we made any money in real estate. But the great news is we're over the top on that. And then I've actually embraced the idea of creating an income structure where you actually partner with people across the world and actually benefit from the team you build. And then of course, the products that they move as well. And as long as that product is consistent with your entire mission, that you're consistent with the ideas that the company promotes and the quality control, then I love that as an emerging way that so many professionals of different disciplines across the globe are embracing at this point.
Awesome. So you've probably been approached in all the lectures that you've done and the stages that you've been on, you've probably been exposed to many different opportunities, especially in the nutrition and food sciences. What are some of the characteristics that you would look for if you were partnering with a company that's going to help you generate passive or residual revenues?
Well, I think synergy is probably the top thing. Right. So the value systems have to align, but it has to be something that adds value to what you're currently doing and doesn't displace anything. So something that's unique, something that's novel, something that has a value to a broad base of people. And then of course, consistent utilization. You know, there's plenty of things where you could do for a one time purchase and plenty of people have done that. But let's face it, one time purchases are made once. I like things that people will do consistently again and again and again. Their body continues to benefit. The economy benefits. And your own personal economy benefits.
Yeah. And just so everyone knows, and Giving full disclosure, Dr. Bob and I are actually on a cruise that we both won because we promote a product called Organo Gold. And Organo Gold, we'll get into that in just a minute. But I wanted to tell you that because you might hear people in the background. We're actually on the, on the balcony of a cruise ship and in a few minutes the ship might even take off. So you might even hear the horn blowing. But you know, just full disclosure, we're on a boat, on a cruise ship in Roatan, Mexico. We just had a beautiful day together, went sightseeing, saw the beautiful countryside, and now we're recording this podcast because we would love to have as many of you as possible enjoying the benefits of residual and passive income. So literally right now, while we're on this boat, there are sources of revenue that are going into our bank account, but more importantly, there are people that are benefiting from the products and services, mainly products that we've introduced them too. So I wanted to disclose that because I think it's very special. Like, it's kind of cool that we're doing this on a boat together on the balcony of my room. So let's get into, you know, you talked about the characteristics, you know, the benefits should be residual, it should help improve the economy. It shouldn't help improve people's health. It should be something that people consume right now. One of the things that I've also maybe wanted to add there is it should be something that people are probably already doing, right?
So, well, it's certainly easier, right, to make a subtle shift than a wholesale change, right? So for instance, we could put people on some incredible superfood smoothies where they'd have to buy a bunch of ingredients and grind them up and mix them. And I know you and I both do that, right? But let's face it, that's not convenient and it takes a lot of effort. So I like easy, consistent and just a slight change rather than an overhaul.
Yeah. So that's super important because I've been involved in companies such as, I won't name any names, but I'VE been involved in companies that make amazing products and people use them, but they use them for a short period of time or they come up with excuses not to use them even though they experience the benefits of them. So one of the benefits that, you know, that I've seen as somebody. There is the boat. There is the boat. One of the benefits that I've seen of using a product like Organo is that we've infused a beneficial medicinal ingredient, specifically reishi mushroom, into a product that people are already using, which is coffee and tea. And so it's very easy for people to change their coffee. I mean, sometimes it can be challenging because people are very specific with what they drink. So it does take experiencing the product for them to benefit. But I find that if you're going to create a passive revenue stream, it should be a product that's easy to consume, that people do on a regular basis and something that doesn't create a huge shift for that person. So it's easy for them to put into their existing, you know, personal practices, if you will. So, any comments you want to add to that?
Yeah. So, you know, I mean, small changes are relatively easy to make. Wholesale change is more challenging. But what we've seen is the compound effect. So people taking something that nourishes their body, that helps their body to detoxify, that buffers their stress, gets them deeper sleep, then they wake up with more energy and a better mood, their relationships can improve. They might feel like going for a walk, they don't have the cravings for the junk that's going to, you know, essentially that their chemistry is addicted to because they're creating better health, better balance, better neurochemistry. And that's a feed forward phenomenon. You've seen it in your own life, you've seen it in your patients lives. We've both seen it. And I like the subtle changes that literally anybody can make. We can take someone who is drinking a lousy cup of coffee every single day, not doing anything healthy, just make that healthier. Next thing you know, they lose a few pounds, they have a little more energy, they start losing more weight, they don't need their CPAP machine, their relationship gets better and we just go on and on. It's a beautiful spiral upward.
Yeah. Can you name other companies perhaps, maybe you don't have to name them, but other opportunities that you've perhaps experimented with that you know, you started and maybe they didn't take off as well?
Well, you know, I had an extreme mental block in the field of, of Network marketing. You know, building a network where you could create passive residual income, in this case, nine levels deep. And literally the biggest paradigm shift I've had in the most profitable paradigm shift I've had is recognizing the value of that model. And I'll go back to Stephen Covey. He said, if you want small changes, change your behavior. If you want massive changes, change a paradigm. So now I'm coming up on a team of 10,000 in over 20 countries, adding value around the clock, which means that, guess what, my bank account grows around the clock 24, 7, 365. And, you know, it's a beautiful thing. And I just encourage people to really give that model a look. And if something fits your criteria, we all may not have the same criteria. Go with it, Embrace it. You know, when you talk about things not taking off, reality is they like to say that the business works if you work it. But reality is, it's not so much you working, it's what you become that creates a relationship with people where they trust you enough to try the product when they have enough faith in your leadership to essentially join your team if that meets their criteria for what they want to do with their life.
Yeah, that makes total sense. I mean, if you believe in the product, then you have an ethical obligation to share it with as many people as humanly possible. And you've done that. You know, you have a huge sphere of influence. And I'm sure, you know, there were reservations that you had with the network marketing model because you're putting your name and reputation on the line and there, you know, let's face it, there's a certain stigma that comes with it. You know, for a functional medicine practitioner, and I know you've trained thousands of them. What do you feel are some of the common objections that they might have to this business model?
Well, I think that the profession, if you want to call it, of network marketing, has deserved a really big, ugly black eye from people doing it wrong. And if you investigate the industry, there's almost no barrier to entry. People can join a network marketing company for $50, which means anybody and everybody can. And then people are grabbing people, you know, everywhere and saying, hey, hey, hey, you need to buy my product. Rather than learning about them, their needs, their wants, their don't wants. Do we have a match as their synergy here? So one of the common stories is, you know, you wouldn't walk through the park, see a person that you found desirable, and say, hey, let's get married, you know, and that's what you're doing in a business relationship. Find out about the person, connect, see if you have a little synergy and then take it step by step. Go on a first date, share a little bit of product, you know, and what I find is that actually I think everybody does it wrong at first, including myself. I think I maybe annoyed a few people because once I got it, after I read 50 different books, after I saw what the company was doing, the patented advantage, I thought everybody should do it. But reality is it takes them a while to get to that level. And if we honor them, and that's really the key in every relationship in life. Honor people where they are and what a leader does is takes them where they want to be, but they don't necessarily have the means to get there on their own. We give them that nice nudge. And you know what, that's going to spill over into patient management too. Take people. And so what have I done besides this? Absolutely no other network marketing opportunity. And by the way, I read over 50 books and literally dug deep into the product for over a year, which I believe is exactly what you did as well. Before I said, you know what, they've got the highest quality certification I've seen. It's an easy delivery system, it's a valuable product. Let's do it.
Yeah. One of the things that, you know, you know, you approached me about this because you knew that I personally would benefit from it, but you also recognize that, you know, this is something that our patients would benefit from as well. And you know, in a functional medicine practice, like we remove two of the most addictive foods essentially on the planet from our patients. We remove gluten and dairy. And most people are okay with that. They've already come to that realization by the time they get to me and maybe even to you, that that's something that they're going to probably have to give up. But the moment we take away their tea or coffee, that's when, you know, the proverbial shit hits the fan and they become almost ghost faced because they're overcome by that challenge. Right? They're overwhelmed by the challenge of removing their favorite beverage. And so one of the things that we've noticed is that, you know, or we tell our patients is that, hey, we've got to cut these things out. And if you're going to drink coffee, then this is the coffee that we recommend. So we're replacing something that they're already doing and you know, making it easier for them to make that transition into a healthier lifestyle. So I Find that, you know, this has been a really nice bridge. Instead of telling our patients not to drink, you know, their favorite beverage, they can now do it in a medicinal form. So we're giving them very, very therapeutic doses of reishi mushroom that are going to help them improve their health. So for us it became a no brainer. And in fact, in less than two months, the coffee actually became our top selling product in our entire practice. And we realized that that year that I didn't take you up on your offer was a year where we didn't build that passive residual income. And so the sooner you can align with values and the sooner you can align with the opportunity, the sooner you can start building that revenue stream and start, more important, serving your patients in a very profound way.
You brought up a critical point that I want to jump in. So for instance, if someone decides to sell a product like this, there's no need for them to take it any further than what they're comfortable with. So if it's retail sales and offering your patients a better opportunity, better, you know, better than not. But one of my favorite stories is a patient who called before the end of the work week on Friday. I don't work Friday, so I've got a great associate doc that does that and said, hey, what time are you locking your doors? And they said, well, we close at 3 today. Why? They said, look, don't close them before I get there. They said, why? I said, well, I've got to get my coffee before the weekend. Now I guarantee you, 26 years and running, no one's called in and said, hey, don't lock the doors. I need my fish oils before the weekend. And I think that's probably going to be universal, right? We all need a little more Omega 3, so it's fascinating. People will come in for that. And by the way, when they're in, if your staff is solid, which I hope they are, do you need anything else while you're here? Can we schedule an appointment? Are there any other products you need? And it's very rare that someone comes in to get just coffee and they're not at least bridged to the next appointment. Another product, whatever. So very good synergy there.
Yeah, it's been a game changer for us on a personal level. From my health, I've noticed improvements. Our patients are reporting significant improvements in their health. And what I like about this product is now patients can actually be involved and partner with us in a way as well. Because I'm sure you get so many patients that come to you and would love to be part of your business.
Right.
They would love to be involved in some of the things that you're involved in. And being a distributor for Organo and sharing this treasure with them now allows them to be just one step closer to you. Right. And, and I think that's a very cool thing. People really, really appreciate that.
So if I can jump in, I did another podcast for a functional medicine specialist who was talking about marketing methods. And so imagine that, let's say you have 50 patients in your town every week that wants to put someone in front of you for a health talk, which is what I've had going in Houston, Texas for a while now. And my health talk is about simple changes that you can do to enhance your health and wellness. And to date, we're now five years into doing what I call Testimonial Tuesday. Every single time someone comes up to me afterwards and asks a personal health question. And more often than not, that leads to them pursuing some level of service or product that we offer. Now, my general estimate of last year, which has a very good science base to it, I think it generated over $100,000 in revenue from the clinic, from people saying, hey, I got to get you in front of Dr. Bob, because he has something to offer in terms of information that can make your life better. Now, the amazing thing is when you're partnering like that, if they decide they want to purchase some of the products that we're partnered in, it always goes to them. My first year and a half, I did not even let anybody know this was a network marketing product. I just sold it in the office. And I was a little worried. When we finally said, listen, you can actually be a wholesale customer. You can get paid to consumer share the product, people suddenly became very interested. We thought there'd be some fallback. Why didn't you tell me before, can we do it with other products? And we told them, no, there's not any other, because we don't do any other like that. But with that said, two of my top six legs of business in a world class organization were patients and have now generated many millions in worldwide sales from just giving them that opportunity. So that's one way that we can extend our health influence as far as we possibly can.
And there's never been a time in history, at least I don't believe there has been, where patients are becoming interested in helping others. Right. I think that, you know, we've, our traditional cultures and societies have been set up where doctors are the only people that can help people in this capacity. But by partnering with Organo Gold or really any company that you believe in, it gives your patients an opportunity to also be involved in helping you spread the message, but also getting them, you know, you could have somebody who's an accountant that's really interested in health. And you've done all this research. You've, you know, you've done all, you know, a lot of the legwork that goes into choosing a product. And now of course they trust you. They benefited from the product and now they can share it with their friends and families. And you know, these might be people that you may never have the opportunity as a practitioner to, to reach on an individual basis, but your influence is, you know, is permeating to them through the patients that you're helping.
Well, one of these guys is a bank vice president and one he, he knew from his own personal and family experience that we had some value to offer. But when he saw the opportunity to join forces to make the world better, he said, I'm all in. And it's been just a beautiful relationship from the beginning and enhanced through this.
Now, you know, kind of, we'll, I think we'll, I want to spend a few minutes talking about the benefits of Ganoderma because that's, that's the basis of Organogold is it's a company that infuses ganoderma, which is also known as Reishi mushroom or Lingzi. It infuses it into several different products. One of those products is coffee. Another product is green tea. Another product is red tea. There's meal replacement, Shakespeare. There's also lattes and mochas and hot chocolates and other beverages that people can infuse it with. But let's for a moment talk about the research behind Ganoderma because there are some amazing, amazing benefits to using this product. And of course the drinks, the beverages are a delivery system. But what are some of the benefits and research that you've come across?
Well, first and foremost, let's just be clear that there's over 3,000 peer reviewed medical studies on Ganoderma, right? So you tell, get on PubMed and type in Ganoderma, you're going to get, you know, 2000 plus. Then you type in reishi, you've got another 900. And then you get Ling she, you've got the other balance to go over 3,000. And that number grows every month. But what I like to tell people is it modulates the inflammatory process so far by 11 known mechanisms. And now, you know, the Beautiful thing about natural products, they don't take over the process. We know that some inflammation is needed for good health, but too much, of course, burns up everything. So when it becomes a beautiful modulator by all these different pathways, you get the right amount. It's essentially a healing adaptogen. You get the right amount of that fire to burn up the undesired tissue, the infection, but still yet promote the healing. When you look at it, it's a phenomenal nitric oxide enhancer. So it can actually lower blood pressure. Some people might say, well what if I already have low blood pressure? Well, often there's an imbalance between sympathetic and parasympathetic tone. Amazingly, it can help with that. Circumst. Well, it's good for both. Pick me up and call me down. Neurotransmitters. The four majors that it's known for in peer reviewed studies are acetylcholine, serotonin, dopamine and gaba. So which one's it going to promote for you? The amazing thing is the one that your body needs the most, nature is so incredibly powerful that way. It's anti infective, it's anti yeast, antivirus, anti parasite, antifungus. We've got some beautiful Lymes testimonials, but yet I don't see a single PubMed study specifically about Borrella Big Dorfi. Right. But when you start looking at what Ganoderma does, it increases natural killer cells, it increases neutrophils, and those are the ones that are going to target the spirochete as an anti herpetic. We've seen patients where it appears that their herpes has gone into complete remission. And sometimes people think of maybe the herpes that no one wants to talk about. But there's over 200 strains of the herpes virus, including Epstein Barr. It's proven to be anti Epstein Barr. It's a universal immune modulator. It balances TH1TH2 profoundly alkalizing. You start looking at those benefits and you say, wow, what can't this do? Well, that's a really good question. I think universally people are going to be a little healthier putting in their body. Some might ask about the rare occasion of an allergy or maybe with specifically a mushroom allergy. Well, Paul Stamets will tell you there's over 10,000 species of mushrooms, each with their unique protein signature allergies of protein phenomena. Is it possible? Sure, but highly improbable, especially since this is the medicine to actually resolve the allergy in and of itself, we are talking today, but I have not personally been bit by a mosquito in over six years. And there's a PubMed study that shows it makes you less attractive to mosquitoes. Pretty fascinating. You know, we have a beautiful outdoor pool and our kids will occasionally have pool parties. Even though they're up and out, they come back to enjoy the parties. But, you know, they'll have a group of friends over that are being, you know, bitten by mosquitoes and they're untouched. So it's just a beautiful side benefit there.
Yeah, there's some amazing, amazing benefits to Reishi. What are, what are some of the most profound cases that you've seen? Because I know you've got hundreds of testimonials, but what are maybe a couple that seem stick out to you?
Well, let me say first and foremost that I always do everything I can for the patient, never just one thing. And so, for instance, I just posted on Facebook this month a woman with stage four breast cancer. And so one, we don't ever want to try to make any type of claims with functional cures, but stage four, very poor prognoses. Ganoderma's proven to act directly against breast cancer, but it also is shown to prevent chemo resistance. Many people are familiar with antibiotic resistance. You don't give enough or a long enough course of antibiotics, the bacteria learns to fight back. Chemo resistance is the same phenomenon in cancer. So ganoderma is proven to prevent chemo resistance. It's also proven to help the liver and kidneys process the chemotherapy and protect the healthy cells. So this woman, amazingly enough, beats stage four breast cancer. And she went to a family reunion. In the family reunion, they looked at her and said, now remind us why we're praying for you again. You have more energy than any of us and you look better than you have in your entire existence. So when she developed stage four cancer, she was, you know, maybe her body composition wasn't ideal, maybe 40 pounds over fat. And we have body comp records on her, amazingly, throughout her entire course, which was, you know, a good year of aggressive chemotherapy, maybe her total loss of lean was about five pounds. And that's going to be expected when you lose 50 pounds anyways. So to have lost 40 plus pounds of fat and to come looking and feeling better than you had in decades while at the same time beating stage four cancer, it's a beautiful miracle. And another case that I'll go along that timeline because I'm giving a cancer lecture at the end of this month. Melanoma Is a very hard cancer to beat. And I had a gentleman with stage four melanoma. He had the major deeply infested tumor in his chest removed, and in the meantime, wanting to get healthy before they were looking for their next options. Over the course of the next few months, Literally everything, every remnant of melanoma anywhere in his body, completely and totally disappeared. I also, by the way, put that one on my facebook. So, you know, I always, like, tell people, God does the healing. There's only two things any doctor can ever do if something's in the way. Help get out of the way. If there's something missing, we can provide it. So if we provide something that nourishes the body in so many ways, Controls the inflammatory process, enhances the immune system, Even with direct action against cancer, it seems like it ought to be standard of care. And to date, as I peruse the pubmed citations, there's 11 proven cancers. I want to go back to my melanoma because eight years ago, I lost my best friend to melanoma. The only difference in this therapy was the megadosing of ganoderma, which I wasn't aware of. One pubmed study shows that ganoderma actually dissolves a protein coat on the melanoma, Exposing it to the immune system. And when I teach that to my patients, I show a picture of a wolf in sheep's clothing. You can't identify the wolf in the sheep's clothing, but, hey, let's take off the sheep's clothing. It stands out loud and clear. And that is my analogy for how ganoderma exposes melanoma. And, you know, literally every month, more and more better studies. You know, if you wanted a more of a coffee analogy, I had a police officer about six years ago came in, and he was about to get married the following month. Severe case of genital herpes. Super high stress job. He says, bob, I don't know what I'm going to do. I want to have a good marriage, and, you know, I want to have a good love life with my wife. Well, we put him on a really strong immune protocol, and his wedding came forward. He had been in very solid remission to the point where he was comfortable enough to have a good honeymoon. Well, he stayed on the aggressive immune protocol for about three months and then just plain dropped off. But he continued drinking ganoderma coffee. I still see this man to date, and for about the first year and a half, I was really curious, how you doing? How are you doing? He goes, bob, I think I'm Cured. I think I'm cured. Six years later, not a single relapse. And so literally the PubMed studies say it is anti herpetic. So in that case, did it eradicate it? I don't know, but it's in wonderful control.
Yeah. And just coming back to our original topic, which is passive income. I mean, obviously I can hear the passion in your voice. You know, we've seen tremendous benefits with our patients. I've been exposed to, to dozens of different passive revenue strategies. We talked about real estate being one of them. That's probably the, you know, the one thing that universally you're going to hear from everybody. But this is a unique, you know, opportunity in the sense that there's, you're not just building up somebody's, you know, you're not just building up your bank account, you're building up your influence, you're building up your ability to help people and to serve people. And you're doing this in a very profound way. And you're giving people tools that they can use to lengthen their lifespan. I know Reishi has been shown to lengthen lifespan in mice by about 20%. Tremendous brain benefits. So if a practitioner is working with Alzheimer's patients or people with neurodegenerative disorders like ms, even one of our friends who's on this ship as well has Ms. And her Ms. Has been, for the most part, in remission. And she would attribute that, if you asked her right now to the benefits that she's received from Ganoderma. Another thing about Organo that we should mention, because some of you might not drink coffee or you might be reluctant to recommend coffee to your patients, but they also come in capsules, right? So it comes in spores. It also comes in the mycelium powder, which is the root network of the mushroom. And that being said, there's probably dozens of different companies out there that make Reishi mushrooms products. What makes Ganoderma products from Organo unique? You want to talk about that?
Yeah, sure. So they are the largest source worldwide now of USDA certified organic ganoderma. And so, you know, a good company can do that. That's the beautiful thing. So they grow it naturally in the Wushi Mountains of China, which is a very pristine area. In fact, you know, there's very limited access even by motor vehicles because they don't want anybody in there messing with this pristine territory. And it's a partnership literally with the country of China to create as much supply as we need. Right. To meet the demands for the products. They also have A patented process by which they infuse it in coffee and tea. And that's really beautiful because you could take your own reishi, which is very bitter, and put it in either coffee or tea. Coffee might be strong enough, that would mask it. But a good green tea or red tea, it would taint it in a way where most people would find not very favorable. But they've found a way to get all the nutritive benefit with no negative to the flavor. And most people that are even T snobs will say that ours is really, really good. The next thing is they have a patented process on the spores. So the spores are how the plant replicates, has the highest nutrient density. Some of the botanicals in there are known to be 75 times more concentrated in the spore than in the plant itself. But there's two very protective shells. And so the company has patented the process while they crack both shells and have a 99.9% nutrient bioavailability. And as they've screened the competition, the next closest competitor they measured was 15%. Another thing about that, if you're buying anything in capsules, we'd be very careful to do anything like that on the Internet because we know about 10% of the nutraceutical and pharmaceutical market on the net is pure fraud. But they could be taking Ganoderma, growing it in a plastic bag, grinding it up. And if we'd show you the pictures, you'd see that this plant doesn't reflect anywhere near the beauty, the vitality, or even the nutrient density. You can see it, right? It looks like a sick plant, but if it's ground up in a capsule, who knows what it is? So you know, the company is USDA certified organic, GMP, EcoCert, kosher halal, and half a dozen other certifications. And you just look at that and say, okay, I get that it's a good company. And by the way, that was a, that was a big part of my one year due diligence as well.
The other thing too, that the products taste amazing. So I haven't found a product yet from the company that I haven't enjoyed the taste of. And taste is very important for compliance. You know, I wrote a post today, I don't know if you saw this upstairs, but in the children's play area, this is huge mushroom. Okay, so check it out when you go up there. I took a picture of it and the mushroom literally spoke to me and it said, you've got to share my gift with as many people as possible. And so, you know, you start seeing them everywhere and they're a constant reminder of this treasure from nature. But you know, mushrooms can be difficult to ingest because of the bitterness you talked about, especially with reishi. So the fact that they've counteracted that and enabled people to consume it on a regular basis is amazing. And one of the things that I wrote about in the post is that the compliance is 300%. Right? So usually compliance with nutritional products or even dietary, you know, supplements can be very challenging. And that's the biggest reason why people don't benefit from it. It's not because they don't work, but it's compliance as an issue. And it's not just compliance over the course of 30 days or 60 days, but it's consistent over time that really generates the benefits. And what we've noticed is that with these products, people consume about 300% of the minimum effective dose. So they might, instead of just having one cup of coffee or tea, they might have two or three. And because it's alkalizing, because they feel better, their nervous system is functioning better, their inflammation starts to go down. You know, it's really, it's amazing that, you know, people are getting this benefit over a consistent period of time and we don't have to worry about compliance anymore. Right? So that's a huge, huge win for a practitioner who's looking to serve their.
Patients well, if I might jump in on that a little bit. So having taught nutrition for over a quarter century, the top four reasons worldwide, worldwide, that people put something in their body. Number one, it has to be, it has to taste good. You don't go to the restaurant, look for something you don't enjoy. Number two, it's got to be convenient. So we'll have dinner tonight. If our first choice takes an hour from the kitchen, we're probably going with our second choice. Third is affordability. And so we look, this coffee, if you're a wholesale buyer, which everybody has the opportunity to be, is about one third the cost of the single serving competitors. That would include Starbucks or Tim Hortons or McDonald's or Dunkin Donuts, we're talking one third the cost. And then number four, and you and I wish it were number one. And in our own life, I believe it consistently is. In fact, I know it consistently is. That's the health benefits. You know, we're always going to look and see, is this going to move me towards having a better life and making the world better. And you know, there's, there's plenty of people that are connected enough with their mission that they'll be in 24. 7. And I love that. I see that in you and the people that you connect with. But this makes it even easier than ever for people to make great choices. 24 7.
Yeah, that's. That's a huge thing. You know, the convenience is what I really love, because you and I both travel quite a bit, and I'm in all kinds of different airports, all kinds of different hotels, all kinds of different places to eat. Even on this cruise, right? We all brought our own coffee. Even though the coffee at the restaurants are free, you can drink as much of it as you want. We all brought our own coffee because we know what this coffee can do for us. Or even some people brought their teas or lunch lattes because we know the benefits of this stuff. But the convenience is huge for me, right? I always have two cups in my wallet, right? So I've got a gusseted wallet, so I can always slide two cups of the king coffee in there. And it's great when you're traveling at the airport, because what I love doing is I love taking the coffee, and all I have to do is ask for hot water, right? I bring my own thermos and get hot water from any coffee shop. And basically, you can mix it. It's powdered, and you mix it, it tastes amazing. It's gourmet coffee. Really easy and really convenient for those of us who travel. And it's really easy to sample as well. That's the other thing I like about it. And another thing I like about it is that the first cup in your pack and the last cup in your box or pack that you get taste identical, right? Usually when you get coffee, even if you grind your own beans, every time you open up the container. Oxidation.
Yeah, right?
You're promoting oxidation. Especially if you're using a pre ground, you're oxidizing it. So the fact that this stays sealed and the medicinal ingredients and the quantity of the reishi is, you know, predetermined.
GMP consistent.
You're getting a consistent dose every single time. So convenience is huge. And especially if we want compliance, right? You know, the athletes that you work with, some of the patients that you work with, some of the practitioners that I work with, they're traveling all over the place. And the moment they travel, a lot of people throw in the towel, right? Because they can't keep up with their practice, Even though they know it's beneficial for them, the convenience becomes the limiting barrier for them. So I love the fact that they can take this product anywhere in the world, anywhere they go, they have it in their bag or they have it in their pocket. And it's super, super convenient. So compliance stays, you know, conveniently high for their benefit. So really, really cool product. Now, you know, kind of going back to the, the passive income topic. You know, we're sharing, you know, we're talking about passive income and we're sharing how we generate passive income for ourselves personally and in our practices. So we talked about real estate, we're talking about Organo Gold, which is, you know, the mushroom based products that we share with our patients and with our loved ones. Any other sources of passive revenue that you'd want to speak about?
Well, I'd like to just talk about creating solid nutrition programs where people can actually even get on auto ship with a really good company. And in the same model you get a deposit right, electronically as your patients receive their auto ship. And so a lot of the companies are coming up with that, I think. So many of the companies are getting better at trying to make sure that things aren't sold on Amazon. Although, you know, everyone will tell you that's not a foolproof system, but everybody's working towards that. Those are always, have always been my strategies. You know, when we talk about passive, it's got to be something that they do without any action from you. And nutrition is the most solid way I know to do that. Now real estate, you know, like I may have mentioned it either before or now, but my wife and I lost a half a million in real estate before we made a penny. And fortunately we're way ahead of that, you know, way on the plus side. But it can be a steep learning curve.
Yeah, it's a huge investment, right? Like you have to have the down payment, you have to, you know, there's lots of due diligence that's involved and real estate is not necessary. Is one of the most expensive investments to unload as well because there's all kinds of costs involved with that. So this is a very, very nice investment in yourself because you benefit from the products, right? It's a nice investment in your patients because they benefit in the products. And it's a great business opportunity because it's a product that people are already consuming. I mean, you'd be hard pressed in a room of 100 people to find 10 that don't drink coffee or tea, at least on a consistent basis. And I think that as functional medicine practitioners, it's our obligation to find tools that our patients can use that they can benefit from. And I also believe it's our obligation because we don't have retirement funds, right. We don't have as practitioners, we don't have like 401ks that our companies are matching. Right. So we've got to create some sort of a passive or residual revenue stream so that we can protect our families and build a financial fortress around them. And if we can find an ethical company, if we can find a product that we, if we believe in a product that our patients benefit from and even our non patients benefit from, then I believe it's our obligation to do that and share that with the world and really with as many people as possible. Dr. Bob, was there anything else you wanted to share? There's so much we could talk about. It's hard to even contain myself because I know there's so much wisdom that you want to offer, but any words of wisdom or value that you want to share with people that you think can motivate them or inspire them, you've lectured to literally thousands of functional medicine, doctor, so the floor is yours, so to speak.
I'm literally just going to go back to the paradigm shift and sometimes it takes your own due diligence. And there was a gentleman named Eric Worre that created a video years ago called the Rise of the Entrepreneur. And he interviewed world leading economists. He interviewed Tony Robbins, Robert Kiyosaki. I'm trying to think of the economists that literally predicted that the trillion dollar health boom, it'll probably come to me as this winds down. But literally all these people said, you know what, if you look to create a business that has the best risk reward ratio, this is it. You get in for $50. And the top earners in this industry have earned well over 100 million. So how in the world can you do that? And I look at the businesses, you know, my wife and I currently have five and several are active. And this one's passive. Real estate even has a little bit of activity to it. You know, we pay a property manager that runs it, so there's a little cut of that. But this is the one that's truly passive. So watch the Rise of the Entrepreneur. Just see what these experts are saying, do your own due diligence. And you know what, if you find a hole in this system or you find a better system, reach out to me, reach out to Dr. Satchin, let us know a better system. Because we've been digging around for a while with the purpose of not only making our lives better, but as Many lives as we can. Which, by the way, is the greatest secret to wealth and success and happiness is just adding value to people. I'm honored to be your guest. I'm honored to be your partner. I've been admiring you from afar. And now knowing you up close, the man is the real deal. So if you hadn't had a chance to get to him in person. When's your next live event?
Our next live event for practitioners is in April.
Okay, I'm going to be there for a couple hours of it because I enjoyed the audience so immensely. But you know what? Just make that investment. 3% of functional healthcare providers, functional medicine providers are happy with their income. This man's tapped the secrets to bring that level up exponentially. So I appreciate being part of your organization.
Well, thank you. That's a super huge compliment from you. I appreciate that. And, and if you are interested in learning more about this amazing opportunity, Dr. Bob and I actually did a deep dive. We did a very deep dive on ganoderma and Reishi and the medicinal benefits. And Dr. Bob is just a super, super deep wealth of knowledge. And he cited all the PubMed research to back up the claims that he's making. You can go to becomeproof.com Organo O R G A N O and learn more. And you can also take a 30 cup challenge. So we've created a very easy way for you to access the product, try it out for yourself, because it isn't seeing that is believing in a case like this. It's experiencing it, which is then going to create the physiological shift in your body to help you decide if you want to recommend this to your family members or to your patients. And then if you start seeing amazing results, we hope that, that you start sharing it with a bigger, broader audience. Because, listen, let's face it, only about 1% of people in the general public are gonna see a functional medicine practitioner, but 90% of them are probably drinking coffee or tea. And this is a functional medical food. There isn't anything else that I've seen out there that has this much research behind it, that has this many widespread benefits. And it's, you know, one of the things that I said in a previous post is that the one thing that will heal, you know, if you heal one thing, you should heal everything. And so when a superfood comes around, it's going to make claims that are so bold and that are going to seem so ridiculous because we're conditioned to think that a drug can fix one thing while it, you know, while it destroys many other things. But a true food that heals your cells is going to heal every system and every organ in your body. And that's why we're seeing such widespread benefits of ganoderma. And there's actually no known toxicity level, right. There's no known drug interaction. So it's not going to interact with medications that people are on. There's no toxic overload that you have to worry about. It's not going to interfere with any protocols that patients are on. It's only going to enhance those protocols. And so this literally is the real deal. Absolutely right. And somebody who has thousands upon thousands of hours of knowledge and training and research and has read hundreds of books, you know, when a man like this speaks or makes a recommendation, I certainly. It took me a year to listen, right? And that was my mistake. It took me a year to listen, but that was my due diligence and the process that I went through. And one of the things that I'll tell you is a mentor is the closest thing that you can get to a time machine, right? So it's a mentor is the equivalent of a atm because they save you, you tons and tons of money, can help you make lots of money, but also save you tons of time. So, you know, Dr. Bob's been in this industry for 26 plus years, and so his word is the gospel for many people in the nutrition and wellness and functional medicine space. So I encourage you to investigate Organo, investigate the products, try them yourself, do your own due diligence on yourself and see what benefit it brings you. And in the hopes that it helps you generate passive income because you're going to have to retire someday. You're going to want to go on vacation some weeks or some months or some years of your life. You're going to want to show your family a better life. You know, your son is involved in the business. He's the one that actually got you involved in the business. Your wife is involved in the business and your daughters are involved in the business. My wife is involved in the business. And as soon as my son is old enough, he's going to be involved in the business because we just see tremendous opportunity with this. So passive income is super important to you. It's important to your sanity. It's important in a case like this because it can help you influence and help more people. And we all know with the go giver attitude, you know, your income is directly proportional to the number of people that you help in a positive way. And this gives you an opportunity to do that one cup or one shake at a time. So with that being said, thank you, Dr. Bob. I'm going to be sure to have you on. So maybe next time we have you on, we'll talk a little bit more about practice development, nutrition, how to really communicate and articulate to your patients. But today I wanted to talk about passive income because we're literally on a cruise ship right now enjoying the benefits of your hard work and my hard work and my team's hard work. And we're overlooking the peninsula here in Mexico, and we had a beautiful day today. So I thought it would be very fitting to talk about how that came to be. And hopefully for some of you listening, a certain percentage of you that are listening to this, really, if you're part of that percentage, it's up to you can be on this cruise with us next year and we can be celebrating together. So thank you once again. I appreciate you taking time out of this beautiful day to be with us and to share your knowledge with our listeners.
You know what? I'm honored. What a great way to spend a day.
