Hello, this is Satchin Patel and welcome to another exciting episode of Perfect Practice. In today's episode, I'm going to be discussing something that you've probably heard Tony Robbins talk about, which is the six keys to living a fulfilling and meaningful and purpose filled life. This is very relevant to you as a functional medicine practitioner because you're going to be helping people live their best life possible. And if these six needs are met, then it's going to help you help them far more effectively. Now, the reason I'm bringing this up is because I want you to incorporate the delivery of these six essential needs for a fulfilling life into the delivery of your program. So when you're sitting down with somebody and you've got them in front of you, you've got their full attention, you've got all the cards out on the table, you've gotta be absolutely certain that you're sharing these things with them and how your program is going to fulfill these needs that they have in order for them to feel amazing and awesome. So let's get started. The first one is certainty. Certainty is a need for them and you to know that they can be helped and supported by on this journey and that they're going to feel awesome by the time they come around the other end of it. You've got to have clinical certainty. You've got to have certainty that that person is the right fit for your program and your process. You've got to have certainty that they're going to follow through with your recommendations and they've got to have certainty that you know what you're talking about. And then you're going to guide them and then you're going to lead them and you're going to support them and you're going to be there for them. So you've got to share this and express this with them. Your confidence comes through in your voice. If you're stuttering, if you're scrambling, you know these are things that are going to give off the fact that you're not confident and not certain that you can help them. Certainty is absolutely critical. A way that you could get certainty across is, of course, through your body language, through the words that you use, through testimonials that you share through, through case studies that you share, perhaps sharing stories of people that you've helped with similar issues, or letting them know that you've got a network of people that you can lean on in the event that you can't find the answer readily and immediately. Now there's certainty in knowing, but then there's also certainty in not knowing. So if you don't know the answer, it's okay to say, I don't know, or it's okay to say, hey, that's an awesome question. I've never had anybody ask me that. And just to be certain, give me a day or two to get back to you. People like that, People respect that, and people value that. You don't have to have all the answers, but you have to be willing to find the answers for that person so that they can have certainty. Number two is variety. Variety is very important because people get bored very easily, as do we. It's hard to follow the same regimen and same routine day in and day out without getting bored or without wanting to go astray from it. In a sense, change or variety is a form of uncertainty. So not only do human beings want certainty, but they also want a little bit of uncertainty. And variety also helps increase the likelihood of making progress. So if you're talking to them about a Mediterranean or paleo diet or a ketogenic diet, you don't talk to them about the macros because, you know, that kind of stays the same. That gets kind of boring. But talk to them about the variety of foods that they're going to be eating. If you're talking to them about an exercise program, talk to them about taking various trails, or talk to them about various exercises that they can do, depending on the level of activity that they're comfortable with. You know, there's a lot of ways that you can add variety into somebody's program, so be sure that that you're doing that. Even variety is built into your program by the fact that your supplement protocols are gonna change or other protocols that are part of your process are gonna change. So highlight those things so that people realize that they're not gonna get bored. A lot of times people stop doing what they're doing because they get bored of doing it. So make sure that you address that right in the beginning. So that person understands and feels that and realizes that they're not gonna get bored halfway through and give up like they did all the other times. Number three is significance. It's important that we feel loved and we feel valued and we feel cherished and that we benefit others. This is a human need. So the feeling of significance is very important. So you wanna bring up the fact that these people are significant to other people in their lives. You know, if you've got a parent that's sitting in front of you, bring up the fact that, hey, you have a significant impact on other family members in your life or you play a significant role in your family and it's important for you to stay healthy. You know, you can even ask questions like, you know, who else is your health significant to besides yourself? And get people to pause and reflect and wonder, you know, yeah, you know what? I am significant. I do mean a lot to other people and especially people in my family. My children significantly rely on me being healthy and being happy and being available to them. Everyone likes to feel significant. And you can also, you know, let people know that you reward them. You know, there's probably little cute things that you can do in your office that champion people and celebrate people. You could have patient of the month and patient of the year or patient of the week, depending on how busy your practice is. You, you know, make people feel significant. And sometimes it's the small things that matter. Even birthday cards or celebratory cards, you know, even celebratory emails can go a long way. So the little things make a huge difference. Making people feel significant is a fundamental human need. So how can you and your practice members make others feel significant? It's not just about them feeling significant about themselves. It's also you asking yourself, what can we do to celebrate people? Make them feel important and make them feel significant as well. So that's number three. Number four is a loving connection. It's important that we have, you know, very meaningful social connections with other people, with friends and with family. So how can your practice deliver on that? How can your practice increase their loving connections? Well, one way to do that is by having a tribe, having a group, having gatherings, having get togethers, whether they're online or whether they're in person. You know, connecting people with other individuals, having social gatherings, these are ways that you can help people deepen their loving connections. You know, one of the things that we do in our office is we have a community, we have an online community where people can develop Deeper relationships with other people. In my mentorship programs, we have live masterminds that people come to. We also have a very engaged Facebook group online. You know, lots of loving connections can take place, believe it or not, through your practice and through the work that you do. Now, another way that you can help people improve their loving connections is by coaching them on their relationships. A simple exercise that we have people do is do their five love language quiz. And by knowing what their love languages are, and also by knowing what their communication and behavior style is, through the disc score, people can enhance their romantic relationships, their personal relationships, and their loving connection. So these are some simple tools that you can incorporate into your practice that can have a significant impact in helping people feel more fulfilled through this process. Now, the last two that I'm going to talk about are probably the most important. Now, the first four, which are Certainty, variety, significance, and loving connection, these are the first four that people actually strive for. The next two that I'm gonna talk to you about are the ones that if you were to focus on or your patients were to focus on, they would have the other four. So that's the beauty of these last two is when you focus on these last two, you get the other four automatically. So the first one of the last two, so number five is personal growth. You know, it's important that we move forward on a daily basis. You know, Jim Rohn says, or he asks rather, how high does a tree grow? Well, it grows as high as it can. How deep do the roots go? They go as deep as they can. How high does a bird soar? As high as it can, as high as it needs to. So it's important that we grow on a daily basis and that we encourage our patients and clients to grow on a daily basis. And this could be, you know, you know, sharing inspiration. It could be sharing posts, it could be sharing strategies, it could be sharing ideas. You know, there's lots of ways that you're going to help somebody grow personally. Helping them overcome emotional barriers, helping them overcome physical barriers or biochemical barriers. There's so many ways that you're going to help these individuals grow. And of course, you can share that with them. You know, Mrs. Jones, you've made an excellent decision by joining this program because we're gonna help you grow personally. And when you grow personally, you're gonna have so much more abundance and happiness in your life, and you're gonna impact other people more significantly as well. You know, people don't wanna follow the status quo. The status quo is a Slow and oftentimes miserable death. That's the status quo. So our job is to help people grow in a way that they avoid the status quo. And certainly as functional medicine practitioners and as healthcare practitioners and healers, or people who facilitate healing, however you wanna position yourself, you're able to help grow people personally, professionally, and significantly. Now, the last one is also important. And again, the last two are the ones that if you strive for these, everything else falls into place and that is contribution. So contribution is that of something that we give to for a greater good. You know, how is this person going to be able to contribute at a higher level in society, into their family, into their community? By going through your process or going through your program. How do you contribute? You know, sharing ways that you contribute or ways that you pay it forward can also be very relevant as well. So one of the things that we do is we've built a clinic and overseas in Africa, and that's one of our ways of contributing to a greater good. And people really connect and align with that. They really see value in that and they feel like they're part of that because part of what they pay us when they join our practice gets paid forward to this charitable cause. So contribution is another great way to encourage the other four attributes of a fulfilling life to, to grow. So if you're growing on a daily basis and you're contributing to a greater good, you're going to have way more certainty, you're going to have lots of variety, you're going to have way more significance, and you're going to develop many, many loving connections in your life. So those are the six things that I wanted to share with you that are required to live a inspired and fulfilling and meaningful life. And one last review. Number one is certainty. Number two is variety. Number three is significance. Number four is loving connections. Number four. Number five is personal growth. And number six is contribution. If you can get involved in these areas of your life and if you can incorporate these into your program, and you probably already are, but if you can share these with your clients, that as you present your program and process to them, they're going to see so much more value in what you're offering them, besides the fact that they're going to feel better, they're going to do better, they're going to know better, they're going to contribute better, they're going to have a much more fulfilling and meaningful life. So with that, I wish you an amazing day. I hope that this helps you. I know that this is going to help you. You've just got to apply it. So I hope that you apply this knowledge and information into your practice and help more people, serve more people, and certainly attract the right people into your practice so that you can have a meaningful and purpose filled life and serve others in the way that I know you're capable of doing so. With love and gratitude. This is Sachin Patel. Have an awesome rest of your day.
