Hey Satchin, and welcome to the Perfect Practice Podcast. It's my mission to use this podcast as a platform to help holistic, heart centered practitioners transform the world. I think we can all agree that the world needs more of what we have to offer now than ever before. And I want to take all the information and all the knowledge and experience that I've gained over the years and leverage the community and the contacts and the mentors that I've had over the years and and share some of the most valuable nuggets that I've picked up over those years. I also want to bring special guests on so that they can share their valuable wisdom and knowledge with you as well. Each episode is going to be packed with valuable nuggets of information to help you grow both personally and professionally, all while moving you towards more impact and more freedom. I'm excited that you're here. I'm excited that you want to grow and learn. So let's jump right in. Today's episode is actually inspired by Genius Network and Dr. Robert Cialdini. Dr. Cialdini is the foremost expert on influence and he's written several books about this world renowned amazing human being. Super kind, super nice. And I recently had the opportunity to actually listen to him speak because he's in the midst of launching his new book. I heard him speak at chs, which is the Consumer Health Summit. And he also spoke at Genius Network. And then pretty recently I just got a newsletter from Genius Network and it reminded me of the seven timeless principles of influence. And so anyone who's trying to grow their practice, I think we all know this, that it's important that we have impact and influence over the people that we're going to be working on. And this influence is important because it gets them to trust us, it gets them to act, it gets them to, you know, make a decision to make their life better. However, if we can't influence people in a meaningful way, then that's not gonna happen. And that could lead to frustration. And the way that shows up in a practice is it might show up as you giving up, it might show up as you lowering your prices, it might show up as you over committing and over stretching yourself. And it could lead to eventually burnout. Or the worst case scenario is what I mentioned in the beginning is just giving up. Right Again, the world needs you now more than ever and we need you to succeed. And it's important for you to understand that there are certain ways that we could influence people in an ethical way to get them to decide either to work with us or not, Right? So if they are going to work with us, awesome. But if they're not going to work with us, then hopefully we can help them find the right person that they can work with, because clearly they're going to need some help. So I want to go over these seven principles and how they apply in our practices in ways that you can implement them immediately so that you can get an instant ROI from listening to this presentation. So write these down and write down some of the takeaways because it might be helpful for you in putting them into action. The first timeless principle of influence is reciprocity. So people want to say yes to those people who have given to them first. How can you provide more value to people before you ever ask for them to do business with you or to even attend any of your trainings? There are so many opportunities for us to give nuggets of value to people. It could be on social media by giving valuable tips and offering guidance, maybe answering a few private messages that you get. If not all of them. You know, people could be asking anyone else in the world, but they chose to ask you because they probably trust you. So where can you deliver value to people and where can you instill certain behaviors that you'd like to be reciprocated as well? A really simple one that I like is, you know, in addition to offering valuable tips to people is to like, comment and share other people's content. So if I want more people to like, comment and share my con with my content and engage with it, I could probably do that and should do that for other people, right? Super simple, super low hanging fruit. And bonus points if you're the first person to like, comment or share because guess what, that person takes notice. So I would encourage you to spend a few minutes every day, you know, going through your feed and don't just be somebody who is, you know, not actively engaging on a social media platform that you're on, right? You can't be an introvert on a social platform. You've got to be in there, you've got to engage. Don't be a lurker. Like comment, share, you know, maybe even give somebody feedback, right? So you can say, hey, keep up the great work. People love that, they love to be acknowledged and, and you're providing them some sort of opportunity for them to reciprocate. Chances are if you comment on somebody's profile or comment on somebody's post, they're probably gonna check out your stuff and start reciprocating. So really Low hanging fruit is due to others, what you want others to do to you. Right. If you want more engagement, you've gotta be more engaged as well. All right, Principle number two is liking. So it may not come as a surprise to you, but people like to say yes to people that they like. So it's important that you become a likable character. A likable character is somebody who gives compliments, somebody who's polite, somebody who shows praise. Right. Genuine praise. Right. So don't do it because sometimes it can backfire if it's not genuine. But be a likable character. You know, one of the things that I like to do is I like to compliment people on their names if they have a unique name. I like to compliment them on their background if I like it. Or maybe their glasses or maybe they're wearing a scarf, maybe they're wearing some cool earrings. Try to compliment others in a genuine, meaningful way. And guess what? It makes you more of a likable character. We like to do business with people that we like. So be likable. Number three is social proof. So not logical proof, right? Not scientific proof. We're looking for social proof. Social proof is easy these days. You could share quotes from testimonials, you could share screenshots from positive commentary that you're getting. You could, you could share something that is another person endorsing you. It could be a review, right, from Google Reviews, if you've got some. Could be a character reference. Provide social proof. Makes it easier for you to be more influential towards others. All right, number four is authority. So how can we be sure that you're an expert on the topic now? Sometimes it might be the credentials behind your name, sometimes it could be the book that you're reading. It could be some additional training that you've taken. Maybe it's a podcast that you've listened to, maybe it's a summit that you've been featured on, maybe it's an interview that you've done, maybe you've been on TV or the radio, maybe you've been on one of those as seen on things that you can have. If you've been on the news or a local community or a newspaper or whatever the case may be. How can we show more authority and how can we bring that to the surface in your presentation, in, in your marketing and in your client education and awareness. Being more authoritative, okay? And not being. When we say authoritative, we don't want you to be authoritative. We want you to present to others some training and things like that, that you've had that make you the authority. Okay, not because you say so, but because you're training and other people would think so. Number five is scarcity. So people want more of the things that they cannot have. Right? We see this all the time and it's an unfortunate human psychology, but scarcity helps people in moving them make a decision. Now, we always want to be genuine with our scarcity. We can't say that seats are limited when there is no limit, or we can't say spots are limited when there is no limitation. We want to be genuine. So that could be a limited time offer. It could be a specific start date. So you've got to join before a certain time. It could be a bonus that ends today. And only the first few people who sign up get this bonus. So try to think of some genuine scarcity that you can create around your offer and that's going to get people and move them towards making some sort of decision. All right, Principle number six of the seven principles of influence is commitment and consistency. So this is very important. If you're going to make an impact or influence people, then a, you want to be committed to what you say you're going to do and actually be committed. Next, you want to be consistent. You should be top of mind awareness. I want you to remember that if people are still receiving emails from you, if they're still following you, they haven't said no to you. They've either said no, not now, or not this offer. So by being consistent and being committed to your craft, it's going to build authority, it's going to build more social proof, you're going to be more likable, people are going to be more likely to reciprocate with you. And you want to give people small wins as well and consistently move them closer into your sphere. So stay top of mind awareness by continuously putting your message out there and give people small wins so that it's like climbing the stairs to get to you, not jumping over a huge wall. So let's try to create little micro wins for people along the way so that we can further influence them in a positive way and even, even in a bigger way when they start working with us. All right? The final principle of the timeless principles of influence from Robert Cialdini is unity. So people love to do business and say yes to people who are one of them. How are you one of them? You could be a single mom like your clients. You could be a survivor of cancer or a condition, a disease like thyroid dysfunction or autoimmune disease, right? Make yourself make it known that you are just like them as much as you can. You might be a graduate from a similar school as them, right? People love to connect with people who are just like them going to the same school. Imagine bumping into someone halfway around the world who's from the same country as you, or the same city as you, the same town as you, maybe even the same community as you. Think of the unity you would feel with that person and the instant likability you would have with that person because you feel like you are part of one another. So there you have it. Those are the seven Principles of influence from Robert Cialdini. The first one is reciprocity. Second one is liking. Third one is social proof. Fourth one is authority. Fifth one is scarcity. Sixth one is commitment and consistency. And the seventh one is unity. So I've given you some examples on how you can start applying this right away, become more influential, have a bigger impact. And all of that is going to move you closer towards creating health freedom for others and personal freedom for yourself. I hope you have an amazing rest of your day, and please feel free to leave a review. Please feel free to share this podcast with others. We want as many practitioners winning as possible. Much love, Much light. This is Satchin. I'll talk to you soon. Bye for now. Sam.
