Done what? Well, judgment. Yes. You have just judged me. In fact, you have formed your first impression about me. And not even this. You have judged me about almost everything. My education, my intelligence, my level of success, my friendliness, trustworthiness. Even my financial status. Surprising, no? Namaskar. This is Sakshi Chandrakar and I welcome you all to. Let's talk simple. I am Anima Janhancer and a people skills coach. And in this video we are going to talk about two very important things. Number one, does first impression really matter? And number two, why do people form first impressions? See, we all have heard first impressions are the last impressions. And that you never get a second chance to form the first impression. Right. So what exactly happens? See, when a stranger forms an impression about you. He or she decides whether the person. Whether you are an interesting person. Whether he or she should invest time in knowing more about you. How they are going to treat you and view you in different contexts of life is completely dependent on your first impression. And that is why I say first impressions are extremely important. Now let's come to the second part. Why do people form first impressions? According to the evolution evolutionary sciences, it only takes 1/10 of a second for anybody to judge you, form an opinion about you. Or maybe form a first impression about you. Vishwas ni otana itni jaldi. One tenth of a second. But yes, it is correct. Though there are other studies also which says that it takes three to five seconds for anybody to judge you. But whatever it is, let's understand that it is a very short period. So actually evolutionary sciences number one. Friend zone. Enemy zone, Indifferent zone or physically attracted zone. So ye pura system. See, we have a primitive brain connected spinal cord. Primitive brain protect. Karnika kaam karta hai. So jai sehi apki reflexes. Hunter gatherer times. So what happens is your primitive brain is ready to protect you. If you find me safe, approachable. Yes, she is looking friendly. Then second step. Cortex. Cortex thinking Karna processing. Karna Cortex experiences everything. Okay, so there is a possibility you may like this blazer, my hairstyle, my lipstick, my gestures. Whatever could be the reason, but your brain has said no. Fine. You do not have to worry. You actually like this person. Okay. So thank you for putting me into your friend zone. Well, opposite to this is the enemy zone. Suppose muje dekta hi apko laga ki. No, I do not like this person. For whatever reason. You do not know the reason yet. But you do not feel very happy or safe with me. Okay, so yeah. Primitive brain. Cortex the same could be the reasons you may not like my blazer, my hair, my style, whatever. So you actually put me into the enemy zone. Now third, indifferent zone. See, my face could be one of the faces in millions of faces that you see, right? So it just doesn't matter to you. So it just doesn't matter. You will not put me either in friendly zone or in enemy zone. Okay? Last, at whatever age we are, all of us and whatever gender we are, we all get attracted towards people, okay? So we physically get attracted towards people. So that is also one of the zone that somebody can put a stranger into. So many talent, skills, experiences, agar Aapka, first impression and the person puts you into the friend zone. Then probably there is a chance that the person would be interested in knowing more about you. Indifferent zone. Then you do not stand a chance to showcase your talents. Right? That is why first impression is important. And mind you, first impressions 1/10 second. So you just look at the person and make the judgment. In the next video we will learn how to form a great first impression or get into someone's permanent friend zone.
