Hello and welcome to campus to corporate transformation video series. This is video number one and I am Sakshi Chandraka, your career branding coach and image enhancer. Today let us talk about the basic difference between campus and corporate. Though there are hundreds of differences, let us try to understand that with the help of a very small example. I want you to consider your college campus as a swimming pool. Okay. And you all have taken admission to graduate as swimmers. Fine. So what do you see here? What happens in the swimming pool? So you know the boundary. You know the territory. You know the size, shape, depth of the swimming pool. Also you have someone to coach you and guard you. Okay? So this is comparatively safe for you. Depending upon your competency you can choose to do the number of laps and decide the depth also. Okay. So more or less everything is what, predictable over here. Now you will ask why do we have to learn swimming? Why? Because you are now expected to swim in the high seas. Corporates are high seas. Boundaryless, vast and deep. You got no idea whatsoever about the water current, the tides, the waves. Okay? Also there could be risk of underwater predators here. Remember, whatever expertise or experience you have from swimming pool it doesn't guarantee you survival and success in the high seas in the corporates. Okay? Now why am I telling you all this? Well, because this is the reality. This is the reality of the corporate. It is going to be difficult for you. I want you to be prepared and ready for everything. Okay? Ready for expecting the unexpected. And once you accept the reality, once you understand it it is going to be easy for you to prepare your mindset to adapt to this reality.
