Sam Thomason walks through the Mectron MTS C420, a fully automated machining center with a built-in gantry loader that pulls parts straight from a conveyor. The machine handles chip management with an angled head, comes in 30 or 40-taper versions, and can run dual spindles. Mectron has 70 years of Japanese manufacturing behind it.
Good morning. What I'd like to talk to you this morning is about the Mektron MTS C420 fully automated machining center. So machine includes a gantry loader. But before we show you that, I want to talk to you about the material handling and how we're introducing the blank parts to the machine. So in this particular case, we're just using a basic infeed conveyor that you could use a robot to place the parts on the conveyor or we can put on a work stocker or trays, any kind of material handling. So with that you can see how the loader is going to pick up the part off of the infeed conveyor and walk with me over here. I want to show you. You see how the loader then now it's an integrated loader into the machine. You don't have to add a robot outside the machine or anything. So you see the loader there is loading the part onto the chuck. So this is a pallet changer machine with a servo driven pallet changer as you can see us during there. So the design of how this is working is we're using the loader to basically load blank parts to the pallet and then take the finished parts and place them out in this particular case on an outfeed conveyor for the finished parts. Now again, for the outfeed parts, we can use anything as well. Or we can easily connect this to another machine. It's as well. So we can easily connect this to a turning machine and so on. The MTS C420 is a 40 taper machining center with automatic pallet changer. We do supply the machines as well without a pallet changer if you'd like that. We can also have a twin, twin spindle machine as well with one gantry loader. So this Mekron really specializes in all machining centers, all made in Japan. Necron Co. Has been in business for like 70 years. All made in Japan, again, 40 taper machining. So I want to come around the side if I can here and show you how the machine is designed. So you notice it has on a taper there. Now this machine has been completely designed for automation. So the gantry loader is included as a standard with the machine and to manage chips. That's why that's on an angle like that. You can see the head is also on an angle so that the chips will kind of flow right off of that. Again, as an automated system, chip management is really everything to take care of the machine. So that's the quick look at the Mekron MTS420. Again, it's available in 30 taper, 40 taper machine, again with different types of material handling, but again, a fully automated machining center. So come take a look at it.
