Rapyuta ASRS at Promat 2025

Sam Thomason demos Rapyuta's modular ASRS at Promat 2025, a system that assembles by hand in a day and a half with no concrete needed. The robots use swappable batteries changed in one to two minutes, and the system hits 400 picks per hour. Pic Bay pick stations use dual projectors and hand-tracking to guide operators and prevent errors.

Hey, this is Sam from US International at the Raptor stand at Promat. This is the coolest system I have seen at the show. And there are a lot of really cool systems here, definitely worth coming to take a look at. We've got humanoid robots and all the works, but when it comes to a system that is going to work and work quickly, that you can tear down and build back up in a new location, this is it. And I'm going to explain exactly why. So, in essence, the beauty of this system is in the simplicity. It's built like a LEGO set. So we actually have no foundations here, no Dynavolts going into the ground. As you see it, built like lego. So if you have a look over here, I can actually pull this up and put it back down. CLICKS TOGETHER this entire framework that you see right here was built in a day and a half. I challenge you to find any other ASRs system on the market that was put up by hand with our tools in that length of time. So that means that, hey, if you're not sure where you're going to be in a year or two, no worries, you can just pack it up and build it somewhere else or move it within your facility. Now, this is built with very sturdy fiberglass reinforced plastic. So even though it is plastic, it does have strength similar to aluminum, whilst being way lighter and very easy to work with. The robots themselves are very simple too. We have four mecanum wheels and underneath we actually have a very small battery unit which is very light. One of the reasons why you've seen these zipping around, we can move so quickly. Now, usually having a smaller battery means less battery life, usually not a good thing. The way we get around that is this system actually has an automated robotic arm that will pull out the old battery and swap in a new one. That takes about one to two minutes, instead of having your robot on the charger for 40 to 60 minutes doing nothing. So we keep this thing working longer than anybody else in the industry at the moment. And it's faster too. We actually can have 400 presentations per hour, which is faster than Autostore and most of the other big fellas out there. On top of the fact that it's way che and way easier to build. So I'll take a walk over here to the Pic Bay, because this is kind of like a big LEGO set. You can build these PIC Stations anywhere you'd like and as many as you would like, anywhere as you want. Make them as deep or as narrow, but I'm Going to pop up on the platform here and explain how it works. So, great thing is, even a dumb sales guy like me can do this because it shows me in three different ways. So we have on the screen here, it's showing me, okay, it's this box over here. It needs to go to this box over here. Now we also have an image of what I need to pick. So you can see here that we have some disinfectant wipes. We also have this flashing light. So we have two projectors, one up there, one up there that actually flashes, illuminates what I need to pick, further instructing me what I need to do. So once I've got this, I'll scan it here with the wrist scanner. Now, because I'm a dumb sales guy, I'm probably going to get this wrong anyway. So I'm going to try put this in the wrong box. And we're going to have a red light and an alarm come up. So we also have r2ense 3D scanners either side tracking my hand movements. So individual hand movements are being tracked to make sure that I don't put the wrong thing in the system. Make sure that I put it in the correct system. So I put it in that tote there, press the light to send it off. It sends me on to the next pick. This one, these tissues you can see here, just goes over here. Press the button and that's it for that pick. So, super simple system. Even a sales guy can do it, which is quite incredible. And you can build this in a very short amount of time. Much cheaper than anything else out there on the market. If you've ever been looking for a better way, more efficient way to store your goods or to build goods, if you have a packaging or picking logistics situation, please let us know. We'd love to help you out. This is a really cool system and I'd love to see it on your floor. Thank you very much.
