Hello, I think YouTube is now streaming. Hi, welcome. My name is Sarah Spencer. I'm a singer-songwriter based in Nashville, Tennessee, and I have a song for you that— oh gosh, she's gonna talk to me. Okay, no, we're muted. Um, I have a song that I just finished called Enemies. I just streamed my songwriting session for day 3 of the 5in5 Song Challenge, so if you want to see how this song was written feel free to check out that video. This kind of wrote itself pretty quickly in about 30 to 45 minutes. I had most of the song done in 30 minutes and then the last singular line took 15 minutes. So pretty cool. I'm pretty proud of myself. It's rare when that stuff happens. I think it's a cool vibey song. It, uh, I don't know, I'll just play it. You tell me what you think. Drop a comment below on what you think it's about. And let me know your thoughts. So I'm gonna pull up my lyric here, and here we go. This is called Enemies.
Ooh child, you done it now. Had to say something, couldn't wait it out. Sit on your hands, baby, shut your mouth. Mm-hmm. Yeah, ooh. There he goes again, acting like he ain't got a problem with it. Just wait till we get back to the house. Ooh. Knees on the boards every single time baby I think I'm free— oh!
Ohh!
Love is like blood on the walls, blood on the floor.
That is Enemies. That takes some singing for sure. Thank you for listening, and this concludes day 3 of the 5 in 5 for me. I'm done with day 3 song. I'm 3 for 3 right now. I can't believe it. I'm doing pretty good. Um, I wanted to write 2 songs. That was my goal. I was like, I think I can get 2 done this week. Day 3, that's exciting. Uh, are you writing? Are you in the Five in Five Song Challenge? Tell me if you are. Drop a comment and let me know that you're a Five in Fiver and you're showing up here. And if you're not, come join. The Five in Five Song Challenge is a speed songwriting challenge that I host every couple of months. And you can sign up at songfancy.com/fiveinfive. I'll be sure to put a link in the description so you can join. You can join at any time during the year. We are in session right now. So we're on day 3. We have 2 more days to go. You're more than welcome to join us for these last 2 days. And yeah, I guess I will see you inside the group. Oh, oh, something cool, something cool. At the end of the challenge this week, I'm actually opening up my songwriting community called Song Club for registration. It's a limited holiday opening for new members inside of Song Club. So what is Song Club? Song Club is an online community for songwriters dedicated to helping you have a space for accountability, for inspiration and for friendship with your songwriting. So we do this in a variety of ways. We have a really, really awesome community of great songwriters who are talking, sharing, sharing songs, giving feedback. It's a great place to come drop your songs in progress and get some feedback from the group. We also have weekly live write-ins where I stream my songwriting session every Thursday from 12 to 1, and I give you like little way markers, like we're halfway through. And essentially, and we're all in the chat, we're talking, we're hanging out, and essentially, essentially it is like your writing appointment with yourself, but with friends. We all come together at the same time to work on our music. So you can count on that every week, having 1 hour to set aside for your own songwriting, and we'll be there with you. It's kind of like study group. We all show up at the same time, same place, and we work on our music. So come join if you want to. Song Club is opening up at the end of this week. If you register for the 5in5 Song Challenge, trust me, you'll hear all about it. I'll be posting inside the challenge group and emailing you about it so you have an opportunity to join. And otherwise, check out mysongclub.com to jump on the waitlist. Thanks guys for listening to Enemies.
