Oh, oh, it's gotta make perfect sense, no regrets. Hey, what's up? Yes, this is my bathroom. This is my shower curtain because right now it's like the best backdrop in my house. Um, but yeah, why am I all dressed up? I'm all dressed up because I'm going to see my friend Tori Martin play a full band showcase at BMI Young Guns Showcase tonight at the Suttler. Me and my friend Melissa Miller are gonna go. We're getting tacos beforehand and then we're gonna go see Tori play at like 9 o'clock tonight. So We gettin' dressed up for Tori Martin. Woo-hoo! Yeah! Tori Martin! Okay, these— I clearly don't know how to vlog. Um, okay. Well, I'm already like really late, so I'm gonna stop and go get the heck over there. Bye! Okay, I think that'll work. Hey y'all, so it's Sarah, and last night was Tori's showcase. It was amazing. It was wonderful. Tori was so awesome. Like, I mean, I don't know, it's not a surprise. Like, Tori's just fantastic. I've heard her sing a ton of times, and her voice is just so powerful. Like, This girl was singing all night, like an hour-long showcase. I think it was 14 songs, and she was like singing to the rafters and did not wear out. Like, even like, even after the show, we talked to her like for like another hour, and she just like, no, no tiredness in her voice at all. I don't know how she does it. It's incredible. Um, I want some of that juju. Like, that's amazing. I get tired after like a writer's round, like a 30-minute writer's round where I sing like 3 songs. So I think it's time for a voice lesson. Listen. But anyway, the showcase was last night and it was super fun, and it got me thinking this morning, um, just about kind of where I am in music and where I am in happiness and in life. So there was this moment— okay, let me back up a little bit. So recently, recently I've been kind of in one of those lulls where I'm like, ah man, I'm just not seeing myself reaching milestones that I'd imagined I'd reached by now. I'm not reaching goals that I want to be at. And I was just I've been feeling really down on myself recently. And while I absolutely love living here, like, there's no other place I'd rather be. There's no other place like Nashville. There's no other place to make music like Nashville. The highs can be equally as intense as the lows. I had just, you know, been kind of on one of those lows where I'm like, "Oh, I'm just not where I wanna be." I went to the showcase last night. There was this moment during one of the songs, I don't even remember what song it was, there was this point during the show where I looked around I looked around and I realized I know so many people here. This is a fairly random, I mean not random, but one of many showcases that are probably happening in town right now at any number, you know, at a venue out of hundreds of venues in Nashville. And I'm here and I'm looking on the stage and I'm like, I know 2 out of the 4 people on stage, including the artist. And I know the guy running sound from college, no less. And I know I'm sitting with people that I know. I'm sitting with all of the people, all of these like, I don't know, 5 to 7 people in my immediate vicinity I know and we recognize each other and we call each other by name and some of them are my really good friends. And that, it just made me smile. Like, that was something for me. The fact that, okay, maybe I've been here in town 6 years and maybe I haven't hit all the goals that I wanna hit yet, but I'm at a showcase in a room watching a show where I know most of the people in here. And that was pretty nuts. So, just wanted to share that with you guys. It's kind of a selfish share, I don't know. What's the moral to this story? I don't know. If you're a musician and you live in Nashville, I hope you have moments like that too. Get out there, keep making friends. Every person that I knew in there, I was friends with or about to be good friends with. That's what it's all about, making friends, making music, and making music with your friends. So yeah, Tori, you did amazing. Please do more full band shows because I will go. You rocked it, you brought the house down. And yeah, I think that's it for now. I don't know how long it's been. Okay, it's been about 5 minutes. I think my French press is probably ready by now. Let's press this baby. Yeah, legit, I don't think this almond milk is good anymore. I poured it in my coffee and it's like kind of chunky. I didn't know almond milk got chunky. Almond milk lasts for like months. Wow. Anyway, It's fine, nothing, nothing wrong with it. Okay, bye!
