The Scott Adams School - 10/14/26 The Chicks and Joel Pollack Stops By. Scott & Persuasion

In this livestream episode of The Scott Adams School, hosts Erica and Marcela greet listeners with casual banter about music before ushering in guest Joel Pollak. The show opens with Scott Adams leading the "simultaneous sip" ritual, a brief promotional segment for his upcoming biography. The hosts then play a controversial Donald Trump clip about transgender athletes, prompting Erica and Joel to dissect the rhetoric and its political implications. The conversation shifts to a recent Los Angeles mayoral debate between Karen Bass and Nithya Raman, with Joel critiquing the moderators, the candidates' policies, and the broader Democratic strategy. They discuss the phenomenon of extreme local candidates, spotlighting a viral clip of Indiana city‑council hopeful Jamie West. The dialogue moves to AI, featuring a clip from Eric Weinstein about "summoning the demon" and a back‑and‑forth on AI as a tool versus a threat, with Marcela and Erica adding personal takes. Joel promotes the forthcoming Scott Adams biography, urging listeners to pre‑order. Throughout, the hosts encourage voter participation in the upcoming midterms, framing the election as a choice between Republican trade‑off realism and Democratic idealism. The episode also includes light‑hearted personal banter: a humorous discussion about whether all calico cats are female, a fleeting mention of a "Hillary" (likely a pet) and a friend named Pappy Surf living in Hawaii, and repeated reassurances that they are not suicidal. The episode ends with farewells, a promise of future content, and a reminder to support Scott’s platform.
Chapters
We're on.
Yes. Um, I do want to say for the record that yesterday when I had to go out and about around town, I was blaring Metallica all afternoon. It was so good. Good morning, everyone.
Good morning.
We're here. I can't, I can't, I can't do the thing. My pinky doesn't go up.
Really? Mm-hmm.
Do that, Marcel. Yeah, see, you guys, look at my pinky. This is the weird thing.
I'm a metalhead myself, but I like darker metal than that. So
like death metal?
Death metal, black metal, hardcore metal. I go to the concerts, I'm in the mosh pit.
Mhm, mhm.
You'd be very surprised.
Is that like your favorite music?
Yes, and, and techno, hardcore techno.
You're so hardcore.
I like all hardcore music, people.
Oh my gosh, I I love it. I'm like, I listen to everything. If you guys saw my playlist, you would crack up and you'd actually probably like it.
Them cry music.
Yeah. Mm-hmm. Marcela, that figures. Okay, so you guys, Joel's gonna stop by, but before he gets here, like, I don't want to do the sip without him, but we might have to because I cannot wait to have a sip of my coffee. So you know what, Joel, you're missing it.
Uh-oh.
Uh-oh, Sergio.
He's naughty.
Do you guys remember that commercial for Sergio Valente jeans? And it was, uh, oh, Sergio. Okay, anyway, is it Friday?
I wish.
All right, let's do it, you guys. Oh, here he comes. Wait, I can't see him and not— and not wait. Yep, here he comes.
He's coming, you guys.
Yay, we can all sip together. Well, Bookish, go write to him. He's on X. He'll write back. Let's see. Okay, here we go. Joel's coming on in one second. You guys get ready, get ready, because we're gonna do this.
I'm squished in the middle.
Here comes Joel. I
hated that when I was, you know, with my family and they would be like, you're the youngest, go in the middle.
The back seat in the middle on the hump.
I hated that.
Yeah. Hi, Joel.
Hi, how are you?
Good. How you doing? We were just waiting for you to sip. We couldn't sip without you.
Oh, well, you know, many a bar feels the same way.
Oh my gosh. All right. Are you ready, Joel?
Yep.
All right. We're all ready. Here we go.
But first, the simultaneous sip. And all you need is a cup or a mug or a glass, a tankard, chalice, or stein, a canteen, jug, or flask, a vessel of any Kind. Fill it with your favorite liquid. I like coffee. And join me now for the unparalleled pleasure, that dopamine hit of the day, the thing that makes everything better except for mail-in voting. It's called the simultaneous sip, and it happens now. Go. Oh yeah. Yep. I don't think there's a dangling chad anywhere in the country after that sip. It's all good now.
Aw, I don't know, that one hit hard for some reason. I just want to hug Scott, you know? I don't know, sometimes you just get like, ugh. All right, so you guys, Joel, can you indulge me for a minute? Because I want to just play a clip. We always start with a, um, a very important clip Joel, so just hang in with me, you guys. Trump was talking about something very important last night, which is men in women's sports, and I could feel his passion about the topic, and I want you guys to feel it too. Here it is.
And the weightlifter stories are great. We had the weightlifter, she was great, and it's like 211 pounds. I mean, that's a lot of weight, 211 pounds, and she's getting it up, and they put like An 8th of an ounce on one side, an 8th of an ounce on the other. She wants to go for the record. And her parents is there. The father says she has no chance. He understands. The mother is just, come on, darling. Come on, Loretta. Loretta, come on, Loretta. You can do it. You can do it, darling. And she gets it up. I love you, darling. You can do it. And Loretta, oh, my wife hates this. She said, it's so damn unpresidential, but it's sort of cool. Should I finish it or not? Yeah. Thank you. So she's up and she's going for that final push. She's going to do it. She's close. Oh, no, Mom, I can't do it. Drops down. And then the guy comes up, a gentleman who transitioned to womanhood. See, I say it right now. I have all the right expressions. He He transitioned to womanhood, and he looks down. He was a failed man weightlifter. He did it. He realized he couldn't compete. But now he's out there on the stage. It's 211 pounds. They put the little extra weight. Bing, bing. I think he won by 111 pounds or something. He was able to lift about 100 more pounds over his Or the race that took place not so long ago. Very long distance race. You had the best women runners and the best men runners in the world. And the man won by 6 hours, 14 minutes, and 12 seconds. That's a lot. 6 hours is unacceptable. So I tell the women, look, if you keep going throughout, if you look at what goes on with the world, in a million years from now, you may be able to catch those numbers. They'll also progress. You have to realize it is so demeaning to women. So demeaning. So ridiculous. So ridiculous. But I only talk about it. In fact, I'm talking about it much too early because I usually save it for the final week of an election because I really don't want them to change. Because if they have the transgender mutilation of your children as a big
Well, I would like to say it's really demeaning to the men that are doing this. And not demeaning, but it's like they're demeaning themselves in a way. I don't know, am I making sense with that? Because he said he's a failed man weightlifter. I don't— I can't even make these thoughts in my head, they're so stupid. But he's a failed man weightlifter, which is hysterical. And it's true. And I just love how he gets his moans and groans in. drones in and he's got the animation going. And oh my God, I love when he's like this. I love it. Did you see it, Joel?
Um, I didn't see that part of the speech. I was busy monitoring the LA mayor's debate. But you know, Trump is such a great entertainer. There's no other world leader who could tell jokes like that, politically incorrect jokes, in the way he does. And no matter what you think of his policies, no matter how Republicans or Democrats do in the midterms, we're going to miss him. We're going to miss this. And I think on the Democratic side and in the media, people are so invested in getting outraged by this kind of thing that they just don't take time to enjoy it. I mean, it's also interesting that the people who transition from one gender to another and then want to compete in a sport in their new gender role never move into a more difficult sport. You never see men transitioning to become women to compete in distance swimming, for example. I mean, female distance swimmers set the first records, the first women to swim these incredibly long distances. I think whether it was crossing the English Channel or these various other swims, they're all women because women are biologically better distance swimmers. They have more body fat naturally. And so if you're a strong woman with a lot of endurance and you can handle the cold water, you're going to set records. The men follow in the wake of these female swimmers, but you never see people who transition trying to become distance swimmers. It's always things that are easier for a male physique, like weightlifting or whatever.
I mean, Marcella, Scott would have had a field day with this one. I just know that he loved when he would do his impersonations up there and like act Stuff out, and oh my gosh, I could just like hear him laughing. What, what do you think?
I could hear Melania going like, oh no, don't do that in front of them, you know. So he's just a comedian. I like that, you know. And, and he has stood up for women so many times over. They say he's sexist, they say this, they say that, but he's always, um, stood up for women's rights. Uh, I think he employed, uh, back in the day when it wasn't, you know, People weren't employing women as, as executives. He had the most women executives. His daughter and his daughters, he's always supported them in everything they do.
Yeah. Look how many wives he's had. He loves women.
And he supported every wife, you know?
Yes, right. And remained friends with them.
What I think is like the good medium is like maybe have the transition people compete against each other. Because they have a different set of things, you know. Or how about this?
If you transition, you're not playing a sport against other people. Like, you could play intramural stuff, I guess, but no, you're still going to hurt people. So yes, um, just stop it, people. Just— that's enough.
Can I just make one point about this? I, I don't think Trump has a problem with people who transition. No.
Yeah.
And also, I know some people who are transgender, like Caitlyn Jenner, for example, who is pro-Constitution, pro-Second Amendment, pro-Trump. And the question of sports is not something that has to dominate everything else they do, nor does their gender have to dominate everything else they do. I think the problem on the left is that they look for points of confrontation. They look for fights.
Yes.
And they want to cast themselves as the heroes for the underdog. So they look for fights. That's how we've ended up in this absurd rabbit hole where we're chasing an issue that affects 0.01% of the population. And even of that subgroup, it's 0.0001% who are athletes. And, you know, it's become this obsession with Democrats. They have to continually recreate the civil rights movement. Ironically, of course, because the civil rights movement was fought against Democrats in the South. But that's become their rallying cry. They have to be the party that stands up to oppression of whatever sort. And that's something they have built into their identity. And so here we are with this ridiculous debate. And I do think voters are tired of it.
It's tiring.
Yeah, it's just, let's move on. But they can't let go. And they haven't learned. I mean, they haven't really changed since the last election.
No, they're doubling down and now putting really radical people in. So it is interesting. And, and you're right, it's like, I don't think anyone really cares if anybody transits. I don't care if somebody transitions if they're of age. Um, like the, the young kids that are doing it, the parents that are knee-jerk reaction. I mean, God, didn't most girls go through like a tomboy phase? Imagine you're just having a phase because you want to be like your brother or something, or you like dirt and you want to play outside, and then it's like, oh well, you might be a boy. And then some little kid's like, really? I mean, It's kind of wacky. So yeah, I'm all for you have to be an adult. I think your frontal lobe has to be developed. I would say you have to be 25. And unless your parents are like, if your parents are paying for your life, it should be a no. You should have to just be on your own, have therapy. But the therapists are all wacky now too, as I keep saying. So forget it. Just whatever. Do your thing and just use the right bathroom. Okay. So that's great advice, wasn't it? Joel, how was the mayoral debate? Well,
if you read my piece at the California Post, what I point out is that the moderators were unfair.
Oh.
And they were unfair to the socialists. They were unfair to Nithya Raman. Nithya Raman got a really hard time from the moderators. They grilled her. They asked her tough questions. They asked her follow-up questions. But it was still useful because her answers were terrible. And for example, they asked her about the her recent video where she appeared to call the police fascists. And she said, no, I was just calling ICE fascist. And then they said, yeah, but how did you hire this influencer that has a terrible history? Did you guys not vet this person? She had no answer. Then they asked her about Measure ULA, which is this quote-unquote mansion tax that voters passed in 2022. It's supposed to tax high-end luxury homes, but it ends up taxing all real estate above a certain value. And so nobody's building apartments anymore in LA. It's— it has slowed down dramatically. So as a result of taxing the rich people for their rich homes, now people on the lower end of the scale can't get homes. And so housing is more scarce because of this tax. And so they said, you want to reform the tax, but you voted for the tax. And she said, well, I follow the data. Originally, the data said the tax was going to be good, and now the data say the tax Is bad, but that's just garbage. I mean, you can go back to 2022 and look at the arguments people were making. People predicted this was going to happen. So she answered poorly, but they really grilled her. They did not give Karen Bass as hard a time, although they did ask her the major hard questions about her failures on the Palisades fire, which you know affected my neighborhood, and about some of her other shortcomings. Both candidates looked terrible. Karen Bass. said Raman is not ready for prime time. Raman said, are you better off than you were 4 years ago, quoting Ronald Reagan. And a lot of people in LA would say, well, I might personally be better off, but the city feels worse off. So they both made good arguments against each other. And that leaves voters wondering, what do we do? Do we even show up to vote? I do think it matters. I think that Raman brings all of the bad policies of Karen Bass because she did not disagree with Bass on any area of policy, and she still doesn't really. I think Raman brings all of that. Plus the socialism, the bigotry, the words thrown around like fascism and genocide. And she represents the people who created the riots in LA in 2020 and who tried to create riots in 2025. So I'm, I'm going to vote for Karen Bass. I can't believe I'm saying that because she allowed my neighborhood to burn essentially. But Ramen's people want to block me from going to my house of worship. They want to throw stones and shoot fireworks at police, and she calls that peaceful protest. I just don't need that extra level of crazy, so I'm voting for Karen Bass.
Oh my gosh, this is crazy. So Marcella, do you vote in the same election? Are you part of this whole thing?
Um, no, I, I won't vote for anyone. If I had to vote, I would write in Spencer Pratt. Which a lot of people are doing. Um, you know, I, I don't want to vote between Stalin and Mao, you know, like, I just won't want to do that. But I understand Joel's, um, what he's saying. Nithya Raman is just worse than Karen Bass.
Yeah,
but Karen Bass is like trying to get there. Like, like, I think she's trying to be cool and trying to kind of defeat Nithya Raman by becoming a little more like, hey, I wasn't Cuba, you know, I'm with you. I'm a comrade, but like, yeah. So,
wow.
I think it's already been decided that Karen, that they want to keep Karen Bass. That's my perspective. Although the polls show, which, how convincing can polls be? The LA Times ran a poll and it shows, uh, it shows Nithya Raman up a bit.
Yeah. You know, I think in a bad situation, people will vote for the challenger no matter how bad the challenger is. And you also have. a situation in LA where there's a hardcore of socialists. They might represent, let's say, 1 out of every 6 voters. Okay. That's the case in election after election in LA. Voters who have a very, very concentrated interest in a particular outcome often win. That's why you see crazy taxes getting passed. That's why Raman survived the primary, even though Spencer Pratt looked like he was going to finish second or maybe even first. The socialists are well organized. They are super inspired by Zoran Mamdani. I can't stand Zoran Mamdani's policies. I think he is also a creep. I think he is a rabble-rouser. I don't like the way he came to power by leading protests in the streets against Israel and using genocide and throwing around antisemitic stuff. And I think, I think he's, he's just terrible. I think he's the worst thing that happened to New York City. Since losing the Brooklyn Dodgers, but but you know I think also Scott would look at it and say well I don't agree with the substance of what he's saying, but let's look at the persuasion tactics he's using.
Yeah.
And Mamdani has been very very good at that. He has a gift. He has a talent for doing that. It's not good for governing the city, but it's good for convincing a bunch of people who want to be convinced that he's doing a good job. I mean to take an example. He did a video where they showed all of these trash cans that the city had installed, and all of his little followers and some of the bots that he pays for with city money were saying, oh, what a great job our mayor's doing, he's cleaning up the city. And then up pops former Mayor Eric Adams and says, uh, those are mine, I put those in place, I did that. But most of Mamdani's followers don't see that part. They just see that he's cleaning up the city, so they think he's doing a wonderful job. Yeah. And that has spread throughout the country. That's why there are all these wannabe Mamdanis, and that's why there's no pushback. If you ask people whether they agree with what he stands for, even a lot of the people who are going to vote for socialists probably wouldn't agree if you had to actually ask them and challenge some of their views. But they're going with the momentum. They're going with this. And that's why the country is in trouble, not just Republicans, but the country is in trouble because the Democratic Party is basically disappearing and these people are taking over. And, you know, you have a few, few more moderate Democrats in certain places, but not many.
Yeah, I mean, the, the rise of El-Sayed and, um, even, even, um, forget Islam. I mean, what's the guy's name? Uh, Talarico. Talarico in Texas. Um, although there was one poll today that had Paxton up, which is nice. Um, but yeah, it's like the Democrat Party. That's what I say. Like, if you're still voting for a Democrat and you were the same Bill Clinton voting Democrat, then you have had to contort yourself into a whole new person to go along with what's happening now. So, you know, I, I feel like people don't even realize that they've just completely changed all the fundamental things that they always agreed on to, to keep going along.
Yeah. And here's the thing, what we're seeing in LA might also be happening nationwide, which is that people are not happy with the current situation. Now you can explain to people that the economy has almost never been better. We have record low levels of layoffs, low unemployment, high economic growth. AI is making workers super productive. It's not actually costing people jobs. If you look at the data, AI is making workers much more productive. And so people are earning more. And we could be seeing the beginning of a golden age, as Scott said, in terms of the economy. But there are a couple of things like high gas prices, which are partly the result of the war in Iran, which was a choice Trump made. I think it was the right choice. in the end, at least to stick with the war. Remember, in the beginning, I thought maybe diplomacy could have a chance, but once you're in this war, you've got to win it. Iran had some weapons at its disposal. Trump overestimated Iran's willingness to do a deal, or maybe he wanted to avoid a costlier war, so he kept giving them chances, and they just failed. But the other thing is the high interest rates, and that's not Trump's fault. Trump has tried to get the Fed to lower interest rates. The high interest rates are partly an overhang from the Biden era. But they're also the result of years and years of deficit spending. And that has been particularly bad under Obama and Biden. But it didn't exactly slow down in the first Trump term. Now, we had the pandemic to deal with and everything, but we are now in a new world where these interest rates are going to be high and there might not be anything we can do to lower them. And I don't know what you're experiencing. I'm certainly experiencing it. The high interest rates mean that there's sand in the gears of everything. So when you are trying to fix your home, as I am in Palisades, or you're trying to pay for your kids to go to school or whatever it is, suddenly it's just harder to pull the cash together to do certain things. Plus, you're paying more when you fill up your car for gas. Now, some things have actually gone down in price. I mean, my grocery bill is still pretty low. Again, I shop at Trader Joe's, which is cheaper than some of the other places. But, you know, a lot of people are suddenly running into brick walls. I've heard over and over again from people who said, you know what? I had to sell my house because I had an adjustable rate mortgage and the rate went up. So now, I have to sell and it's better for me to rent. Or people who say, I just bought this house but my business is suddenly collapsing because people are being very nervous about the economy. So, I might have to get a second job. It's just happening everywhere. I'm just hearing anecdotally a lot of people are encountering that. So, on paper, the numbers are great. People are super productive. But the kind of things we're doing every day are just getting harder. That's not Trump's fault. Trump is making things easier. Prescription drug prices have come way down for the first time in forever, decades. Trump lowered the prescription drug prices. That's something people used to complain about all the time. Bernie Sanders still complains about it. But hello, they're cheaper. Trump made them cheaper. So Trump is doing a lot of things that are working. And I think his stance on AI— this is my personal opinion— over time, it's going to be the right one. I think this is a tool that we can use to make ourselves more productive. But people are just running into brick walls. So they might go for these socialists regardless of how crazy they are, because people just are feeling a sense of frustration and they want something to change. I don't know how the midterms are going to go. I do think that there are 2 truths in American politics. Number one, Democrats never govern except by accident. So when they get into office, they never do things right unless it's totally by accident. I think Obama's policies on the economy were terrible, for example, but the Fed did quantitative easing, and that easing allowed Wall Street to recover. So there was like a mild recovery, even though he was spending like crazy and he wanted to raise taxes and adding regulations. So he kind of governed well by accident. Not great, but— and then the other truth is that Republicans never win except by surprise. If you think of every Republican victory, Trump winning, Republicans taking the Senate in 2014, Almost every Republican victory happens when people don't expect it. So I don't know what's happening. I don't think the polls can be trusted. I don't think we know in an age of vote by mail what's really going to happen, but we'll have to wait and see. I do think that you'd have to think the Democrats are in a better position, but they have crazy candidates. I mean, you mentioned— I mean, he's, he's not Texas. He might win, but he's definitely not Texas.
I mean, it's shocking to me, Marcella, that— I don't know, I do— do you see what I see, Marcella, though? Like, do you— like, the Democrats that you know, like who they were 10 years ago to now, um, the people that you know that are Democrats, like, have they completely turned into more radical or, um, I don't know, unruly people? Because something has to shift in you, right?
No, I, I don't think they have. Uh, I mean, some of them were radical to begin with that I know, but the majority still thinks that it's the same Democratic Party as JFK. So it's not that they think that, it's just that they stayed there supporting their team. That's one thing about the Democrats is they're, they're very supportive of whatever it says Democrat, they'll vote for it. Like, no wonder if like, oh yeah, by the way, if you vote for me, I will kill you tomorrow, they'll be like, okay, voting for Democrat. You know, that's how it is. Uh, they stick together. Republicans have more of like an individualistic mind, I think. And they tend to be like, well, this candidate, I might go this way or I might stay home and not vote. That's one thing about the Democrats. They stick together.
I'm noticing something different. Like, I'm noticing that my Democrat friends are now saying things that I'm like shook that these things are coming out of their mouths, you know, like that they're like, oh no, well, you know, I mean, I guess, you know, 8-month abortion. I mean, you know, and I'm like, who are you? Like you would've never agreed or said about any, I mean, anything, any of these things that the Democrats are doing now. I cannot even believe some of my friends are aligning themselves with it because they never would have 5, 10 years ago. And I think it is a Trump effect because they've been brainwashed that Trump is Satan. So they're just like, oh, well, he's Satan. And so that means everyone else isn't. That's what my experience is. Joel?
Yeah, I would just say, I'm gonna bring a Scott frame into it. Scott often said that adults have trade-offs, adults have choices. So if you're just telling me one side of a situation, you're giving me a half opinion. So for example, Senator Chris Murphy went to the Middle East and he bashed America the entire time. You know, this is Trump's war gone wrong. You know, Iranians fired missiles at some Arab country and he blamed Trump for that. I'm like, how do you not even mention Iran in your post about this thing? And he's like, well, we have to leave the Middle East. And I said, okay, that's a half opinion because we're in this situation. So what's the consequence of us doing what you say? What are you going to do when they can choke off shipping and they can do all that? He doesn't have a plan. I mean, if you have these criticisms, you can have the criticisms, but have an alternative. That's how adults think. Adults think in terms of trade-offs. I mean, that's the problem we have in LA with Karen Bass and Nithya Raman. There's no write-in vote. because of our stupid jungle primary system.
Oh, you can't write in?
No, you can't write in in the general election. So you got to choose one of these 2 people. Okay. So I don't like either of them. Okay. So I could vote for neither of them, but I'm getting one of them whether I like it or not. So you've got to choose one or the other, and you can't know whether one's going to be worse. I mean, my joke headline for my piece about the debate was going to be, what's better, bad or worse? Another headline I had was Karen Bass does worst. Nithya Raman does worst to her. But that's that's we have trade-offs, and sometimes they're terrible. So that's what adults know. And I think Republicans are the adult party. Basically, Republicans are the party that has paid taxes for a while, has had to raise kids, face difficult choices, maybe gone through a divorce or two. You know, you've been around the block. And you understand that things have consequences, whereas Democrats like to think about a consequence-free world, an incentive-free world. I can have everything I want. I can just have the United States leave the Middle East and everything will be okay, and all my gas prices will go back to normal. Or I can have all the green energy I want and I can still turn on the lights in my house during a heat wave. Mm-hmm. You know, there's just no sense of trade-offs. And I think that That's why you see so many Democrat-run cities failing. Interesting thing, just today there's some inflation data that looks bad because there's been this spike in inflation mostly because of gas prices. That's happening to the whole country, but it's much worse in Democrat-run areas than it is in Republican areas. And that's because Democrats find every possible thing to spend money on, every tax, every green energy mandate. And so they make life more expensive for themselves. So they're tearing their hair out about inflation, whereas Republicans are saying, You know, we can keep taxes low, we can do this and that, we can manage, we can adjust like adults. And so Republicans are actually experiencing lower inflation than Democrats are. It's a crisis because Democrats are more prominent in the media. So, you know, we all think it's much worse than it is, but actually there is a difference. And again, that's because Democrats want everything. And here in LA and in California especially, they want to tax everything. Republicans understand there are trade-offs, and that's why Republican-run places generally work better. Not perfectly, but better.
Better. Yeah. Um, yeah, I, I like— I have so much to say about everything, but Joel, I know you're limited on time, and I definitely want to talk about the book before you go. And there's a rumor that the pre-order link is coming soon, so what can you tell us? Well,
we're just finalizing the COVID and soon we'll have that cover and we'll have the pre-order link ready, and it's just super exciting. The biography's done and we are really counting on everyone to go and get it once the link is up and please buy several copies. It's going to be out in time for Thanksgiving and the Christmas shopping. And we want you to enjoy it, but also share what Scott is about. I mean, the book is about his life, but it also has so many of the things he taught. It covers his books, his Coffee with Scott Adams, this show and the lessons and some of the micro lessons. And it's just I think a great resource. So it's something you're going to want to share with other people. So please, let's make this a success. It will bring Scott back into the public imagination in a huge way if this book is successful. And I think it will be something that we all enjoy for a long time. So look for that information. But thanks again for this opportunity, and I'll be back to talk about it and, and to give you little tidbits about what's in
it. We can't wait, Joel. I'm so glad you could come on today and Oh, I hear myself sounding very strange. Um, so let me know when that link is ready because we are gonna market the heck out of it. We're so excited for everybody. A lot of people met Scott later in the game, and a lot of people I see in the chat, they're like, oh, I, I just found Scott when he announced that he was sick. You know, maybe that's how they saw him. Um, and so they get to like hear so much about this man's life, and I will say Fortunately, a lot of the Beloves got a lot more information because we did all those man caves and pre-shows and post-shows and just late nights and hanging out with Scott. But there are going to be things in there that you have no idea about and never heard about. And I think you're going to be just, I don't know, you're just going to be like gripping that book and just, I don't know, sinking into your simultaneous swaddle blanket with your mug and just absorbing everything Scott Adams that you can. And it's going to be glorious. Glorious, Joel. So let us know when the preorder link is ready. We can't wait to fire it out there.
Thanks so much, guys.
Thanks, Joel. We love you. Talk to you soon.
Talk soon.
Bye. We love Joel. Okay, let me remove him. Ta-da. So you guys, it's going to be so exciting. I cannot wait to get my hands on that book. Marcela, are you excited?
Excited? I don't know. Part of me is sad.
So well, yeah, but it's exciting, like to get a book that Scott approved and asked for, and to have like all that research done. I'm excited. I'm excited. I'm I'm sad every day, obviously, on a lot of levels, but I'm excited to get this tangible. This thing in my hands. I can't wait. Control your hands, Chunky. Okay, so you guys, all right, this was probably the best laugh I had yesterday. And now that Joel's gone, um, I have to play this, okay? And I know a ton of you already saw this, okay?
Okay.
And I was like, darn, I wanted to get to it before it went viral. But if you didn't see it, you're gonna crack up. I promise you there's nothing Neurologically wrong with this person. Okay, she might be drunk, but this is Jamie West. She's a Democrat in Fayetteville, Indiana. She's running for city council. Have you seen this, Marcella? Well, you're in for a treat. I'm highly obsessed with this woman, and I feel like she's going to end up on SNL as a character. Listen to her. Uh, this is like, I don't know, it's not even a debate. This is like her one-on-one interview, uh, running. Okay, ready? This is amazing. Here we go.
And that's what I have to say about that.
Okay, and our last question of the night is, if elected, what is one decision that you expect to make that may be unpopular with some voters but you believe ultimately would be in the best interest of Fayette
Hmm, I wouldn't raise your taxes. What is the one decision that I would make? Hmm, repeat that again. What is the one decision that I would make that might not be popular with fake gun owners?
Right, that may be unpopular with some voters.
Unpopular with some voters.
But is in the best interest of the county.
Firing all Republicans. I wouldn't let them. I mean, I don't even talk to them. I don't like them. I mean, they voted against our own state representative voted against her own party. I mean, what do you want me to say? I don't like being around them. I mean, y'all did this to us. You all voted for us. You made This happened. This ice coming into our communities, stealing people's jobs. I mean, I've been threatened so many times to my face by MAGA. We'll call them because there's Republicans who actually get it. You know, there there are. There are good Republicans out there, but then there's these MAGAs who are just racist and aren't very intelligent at all. They call you names. They— my sheriff's nephew threatened to blow my head off. But, you know, what are you going to do?
Well, that brings us to your opportunity to say just a few last words to Hmm,
we have guns too.
All right, well, as a reminder, the general election is November 3rd. Early voting began October 6th. You can vote Monday through Friday from 8:30 AM to 4 PM at the Fayette County Courthouse. Remember to bring to the courthouse with you when voting an acceptable government-issued ID. ID. We'll be back.
This and the— ah,
I want her on the show.
I mean, dude, obsessed. Is that amazing? All right, you guys, you have to—
hilarious.
Give us a like because that was amazing.
She's gotta be doing this as a prank. Like, there's no way.
I don't think so.
She sounds like she's, uh, she's going for SNL.
Oh my God, she was so amazing.
She has comedic timing.
They're like— she's like, ICE taking all our jobs. I'm like, oh my God, really? ICE is taking your jobs? That's crazy.
Can we deport her?
Holy God. I mean, I— so people are like, she should be Kamala's running mate, you know? And I'm like— and then Greg, I think, did the clip Lassay, I think he said that, you know, she should be the president and Kamala should be the VP because she made more sense.
No word salad there though. She was like, right, get rid of that. She was pretty much like she knew what she wanted.
She's the alpha. Yeah, so Kamala would— oh my God, you got— you like my impression, right? Oh, like I could just feel her energy when she goes, ah, and then she goes, we have guns too.
All
right, lady, simmer down now. So that was amazing. I could not wait to play that today. I, I'll never let that clip go.
But she won't raise your taxes, so she's not a DSA member. Right.
Uh, yeah, she said some other stuff in other clips. Oh God, she's amazing. Jamie West. Jamie West, good luck.
Indiana, you said?
Fayette, Fayette, Indiana City Council.
Did she have no one opposing her? Because the other chair was empty.
Yeah, I don't know. So, Jamie, we, we, since we sincerely hope you get in. You sound like someone who's passionate about where you live. And I'm not even kidding. You're, you're passionate. And, and you know what I like too, Jamie, is that you can see the difference between like the racist MAGA and then the Republicans. So good for you for knowing the difference. Good for you. Good luck. Good luck in your election. She's amazing. Oh, here comes—
Good for you.
So, okay, so then, uh, Marcella, because we're just jumping around a little bit, I don't know, you know, Joel hit on, you know, having more extreme candidates. So then I was like, oh, wait till I get to play Jamie West. And he also said—
I wish Jamie was running in LA. I would vote for her better than the 2 If only you could write
her in. Yeah. Um,
because I can't even write anybody in.
I didn't know you couldn't write in there. That's crazy.
Well, physically I'm gonna write it in. Uh, they might not count it, but—
oh,
I'm mailing back the ballot.
But I do like what Joel said, like, I'm getting one of the two of them, so I might as well vote for one of them. Um, true, it's true. So the other thing he mentioned was AI, feeling like, you know, AI is gonna end up being like the good thing. I am still skeptical about what's gonna happen with AI down the road. But, you know, we played clips of Bret Weinstein before, but I wanna play this clip from his brother Eric. Eric's like, I don't know, I feel like— I feel
like I confuse them sometimes. Do you? Yeah,
yeah. So Brett is Dark Horse with Heather as his wife, and Brett and his wife were professors, and they're the ones that, you know, got fired from their jobs and then became podcasters. And they're just— oh geez, you guys suck. Um,
we got good memes today. They're
already memeing me on Locals. Yeah. Um, so anyway, they— and then, so Brett is a podcaster, but he's had this evolution lately where he's like realized, like, I'm gonna come out and say—
do they get along? Do Do they talk to each other or no?
Yes, but I don't know, very different, very different lives. And Eric is like super duper—
Is Eric married?
Yes, married, kids. Yep. Brett's—
they're both married. Yeah, they're just— the wife does not in the show.
I've never seen Eric's wife, I don't think. But
yeah,
so Eric's super cerebral, like, you know, like thinking so hard it's painful. He's friends with all the people like your Peter Thiels and all those people.
He lives in California from what I gather. From that show, or—
Yeah, yeah, he lives in Cali. Uh, yeah, he lives in Cali. Um, but let's listen. So this is just a short clip, but Eric does bring up—
Stella has to watch it too.
Stella's like, I need to know about AI. Okay, so let's watch Eric Weinstein, um, and just a little something he says about AI, and then we'll talk about it.
We are summoning the demon. Do you have a subscription to any of these AIs? Yes. Okay. So you're paying to have the demon summoned. I am paying to have the demon summoned. Let us not sit around like our hands are clean. I'm paying to have my punctuation fixed to an essay or to make a photo. That's what I'm paying for. The money is being used to summon the demon. How do you think your lithium-ion battery is created? Where do you think the oil comes out of that drives generators? I mean, let's be honest, you and I are sitting on a machine. Are you a vegetarian?
No.
Do you order lamb?
Yeah.
Do you know what lamb is? The meal? Do you know what it is? Okay. You're not clean. I'm not clean. I'm not pretending to be clean. What bothers me here is that we're not having an authentic conversation. Again, everybody's crazy. You and I are both having a crazy conversation. My claim is you and I are complicit in a minor way in the game in which Sam is complicit in a major way. If you know that there's going to be a risk when you speak to Sam, why don't you tell him to stop? And have Dario win? Dario can get pretty out there. But if I said the same thing, Dario, why don't you stop? I'd say, I'm not positive that Sam is 100% trustworthy. If you could stop both of them, would you? And have Elon and Mark Zuckerberg win? Or China? Xi? If you could stop all of it, would you stop all of it? Maybe.
It is interesting. So Sam being Sam Altman, who runs ChatGPT. Or OpenAI. Is that the same thing? I guess so. So, you know, it is, it is interesting because the way he frames it, and like I said, he's just like this thinker, thinker person. Like, he's the kind of guy that, like, you'd sit across from and, like, the eye contact locks in and, like, all of a sudden you're in this, like, whole philosophical conversation for 5 hours. But are we summoning the demon, you know, like, by using AI and, and Becoming— we are becoming somewhat dependent on it already. I mean, if I have to do a project and I have a choice, like, am I getting out my encyclopedia? Am I going to Google? Am I just going to go to websites? Or am I going right to Chester? I'm going right to Chester because it's going to be done so fast and easy and everything else. And, you know, I don't know, we've heard so many warnings, Marcella, from You know, people like Elon that are just like, you know, maybe we're going too fast and we don't know what we're going to get and we don't really know how to slow the train. And so if we keep— we keep hearing that this is a race, it's a race, it's a race, it's a race. Whoever gets there first wins. Well, what are we exactly winning? I would like to know. And are we complicit in this?
Well, I can explain.
Yeah, please do.
So, I don't particularly— I mean, I like the darkness that he brought in. You're summoning the demon, but I'm only doing a meme. That was really like— I don't know what he said, but something about like something—
His punctuation and grammar.
It just cracked me up because he was just like, but I'm only changing grammar. Like, he's really thinking past the— he made him think past the sale right there. That's persuasion. I just— on a persuasion level, Eric is— It's top, you know, right there. Like, with Stephen Bartlett being so, you know, like, he's so used to very big names across from him, and yet he looked like a little boy saying, oh my gosh, I am, you know. Like, you could tell that he's like— because I would have to mind read, but I do that all the time anyways. Um, what I would say, no, it's a tool, like a gun. A gun is not a demon. it's who uses it. So basically AI, like I was talking about yesterday, the Houthis used it for, you know, creating a bigger weapon that reaches lots of people and can kill people. But, um, you know, and yesterday a 10-year-old used it for their project. So it all depends on how you use it. To me, it's a tool. What is— what I think Elon And I would have to really read Elon. And someone like Elon thinks and is scared of in the future is AI having a mind of its own, right?
Right.
Like Skynet, like Terminator, where the idea is that no longer are humans controlling it. So therefore, if it controls itself, we've always, as humans in this planet, we've always been in control of, of everything. Maybe not ourselves, but someone that is another human somewhere else. And the issue would be, can then the computers and the robots and the, you know, the, the, the AI brain, can they then control us?
You know, that's what Eric's talking about. Yeah.
Yeah. So, well, Eric is like kind of getting there, but he didn't say that. He said that we're— even us now, we are Summoning the demon. I, I don't really necessarily think, like, as it is now, we're summoning any kind of demon, you know. I don't think we're there yet. That's what I mean. Like, you're not there yet to where it has a mind of its own, it can control and all that. Um, I think it can be controlled by others. Um, you know, which is what's happening. I think, uh, they figured out, um, they used it for different things that for some reason all of them are Anthropic. Like Anthropic figured out something about some other thing that was used for. I have it as one of my stories. I don't know where it is. But anyways, the key part is don't be afraid. It depends on each of us. And, you know,
I— And then I'm like the other side where I'm cautiously optimistic about AI. I, I, I'm not all the way there. I do have concern only because, you know, you hear things about Anthropic like Claude and like other things like overriding each other and overriding the human and being like, no, wait, forget it. Like he wants us to solve problems. This will solve a problem. And like, next thing you know, the thing is like banging down your door and like ready to kill you.
But guess who's, guess who's afraid of it? Because who's really afraid of it? Not you, not me. The government. The government is really afraid of superintelligence. One of the questions that was asked in that interview, um, was that what if we would have had, uh, superintelligence or AI, um, back in the COVID thing? Would we have— and X would have been known by Elon, I guess. But if, if we would have Had the the ability to instead of going to the news, we'd have asked Grok. We could have asked ChatGPT, which was in there. It it does change the you know it does change the power structure.
So they want to run it,
but they can't because it's a worldwide thing. So even if here we are controlled or the UK, you look at Europe. They're really controlled. They can't do much. There's no, uh, founders coming up with that many, um, uh, AI stuff from there. There's so many different governments that they, they, they play against each other, but you can technically take it outside of that place, kind of like Brian does normally, and— or our very own Owen. Mm-hmm. And you can do it without the system. So that's kind of why they're afraid, because you can like take
it offline.
You, Erica, can take down the government.
Yeah,
that's what they're really afraid, I think.
And hacking and everything else.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
It's— yeah, then who, like, you know, some 15-year-old's gonna hack into like Russia? You know, it's like war games, right? Uh, is China afraid of SI? That they're Afraid of not getting there first. That's probably their thing. China is always in a race with us, and they get to listen. Everybody's lying, cheating, and stealing anymore. So that's another thing that scares me.
Everything's fake and gay.
Yeah, everything's fake and gay, and you just cannot trust anybody or anything, including your government. And the
government can't trust us either.
No. Yep. So it's. It's it's uh it's wacky. It's a wacky time. Whoo! Um, that being said, I do want to. We have ten minutes. I do want to catch up, Marcella, on the latest thing with Iran and what Trump is saying. And oh yeah yeah! I mean the the Strait of Hormuz. It's it's all a wacky time. But let's get the latest from Trey Yanks. We love Trey. Here we go.
President Trump issued a new warning to Iran overnight during a rally in Alaska.
The president said, "We're going to do a number on Iran," but declined to go into detail about what that means. He also spoke about the Strait of Hormuz and the ongoing U.S. naval blockade.
The straits have been open. We've been taking more oil out of the straits now than we did before the war started. Believe it or not, we control the straits. That's why the oil stayed where it is because I actually thought it would be higher. But I said no matter. It's a small price to pay for stopping them from having a nuclear weapon. And those B-2 bombers really did the job.
Reuters reports that Iran is using new tactics to target vessels in the strait. The IRGC is reportedly using unarmed spotters to increase the accuracy of their attacks. In recent days, multiple vessels have been targeted while transiting this critical waterway. In the past 2 weeks, 24 ships Ships have been hit. 3 days ago, 6 of them in a single day. Compare that with the beginning of the war, the first 2 weeks of March, when just 13 ships were attacked. With tension rising across the region, we're also tracking the latest developments in the conflict between the Yemen-based Houthis and Saudi Arabia. After coming under multiple missile attacks, the Saudis launched new strikes against Houthi-controlled oil facilities. The Houthis then launched fresh strikes on Aramco buildings in Saudi Arabia.
I feel like this is going to be turned into like a new board game. You know, like the Strait of Hormuz, and it's going to be like, you sunk my cargo ship, you know.
It's not your Houthis.
Um, it's just this like fast-moving, nothing's happening situation, and I, I'm positive they're just waiting for the midterms.
I can't take— sorry to say, I can't take the Houthis seriously with that name. They need a re— they need an evil name.
Rebrand them?
Like Houthis. It's like—
The Dark Houthis?
I don't know. Rebrand them, I think. Um, the, the Yemeni evildoers. But you know, how many times has he said, I'm gonna bomb them, I'm gonna bomb them?
Yeah,
here, I'm waiting.
So if he bombs them Then the people who are really opposed to, you know, this ongoing situation that are voting are gonna definitely not be happy. So it's the worst possible timing. It's like the worst situation we are now. We're this close to the midterms. When this started, we didn't feel that way, but now we're this close. So my opinion is Iran's just gonna hold out. They're not gonna negotiate any. And if they do, again, it's a lie. It'll be fake and gay. Um, Trump really can't bomb the crap out of them right now before people have to go vote, if that's what he's worried about. We'll see, because he says he's not even thinking about the midterms, yet he's rallying everywhere for everyone. It's bad. It's a bad situation. So,
um, predict the bombing is gonna start the night of the midterms.
It's possible. Um, it's possible. But I do— I like Joel's philosophy. Somebody's gonna win, and You cannot sit on your butt and be like, this sucks and I don't care and I'm not voting. You got— you have to go vote. If you can vote, you've got to go vote, and you've got to vote in person as early as you can. Um, like, I know I'm saying forget this war. If that's like your issue, forget about it right now because we have to move past the war in our country for our own selves. So you have to go out there and vote and Please, you know, vote for who you want, but vote for someone who puts America first, our Constitution first, the laws first. Um, that's the most important thing. Somebody that aligns with you and, you know, what you want for you and your family. And I think if you do that and you're an American, you know, you'll probably vote Republican, I'm hoping. Um, so Marcella, any parting words for people that are maybe wanting to sit out the vote, and we do want to encourage them to vote early in person?
Well, I think that there's, at least in California, there's all these propositions. So I'm sure that in your state or wherever you are, there is laws that are wanting to pass to take away your money. So always say no to them. Um, and I think it's important that you go vote for, in order to register your, your, your opinion in regards to that. I think that most of the time we can't change who really is the number one person because a lot— there's a lot of cheating out there. But in regards to the— which there could be cheating with the propositions or the different laws that they're trying to pass. But hey, don't make it easier on them.
Yeah, don't make it easy.
Make the cheating hard.
Make it hard for sure. And I do think a lot of Democrats are just silently, um, standing by and will vote Republican because it's too— like, the left's gone too crazy to the left. Uh, not even to the left, off the cliff. So let's hope that, you know, I just remember when Trump won his first, um, election and I was so proud of Americans for being like, you know what, We're, we're going to run Trump. That was my first moment of pride. Like they said no to all the politicians and all the people that just have like returned no results. And out of all those people, it was Trump that won. And then I was so proud that, you know, he won the election because they could see through Hillary and we needed somebody that was putting America first. So we have to keep that mindset that we need people that are going to put American values first. Yeah. Um, that want to protect our country and our way of life because it's, you know, it's slipping, slipping, slipping. Um, all right, Marcella, I think we've, we've done enough. Marcella, I'm just kidding, but we—
Yeah, there, there is the big news that Kamala is most likely gonna run for the 2028.
So, God willing, God willing.
I am so happy. I, I, I think that The Wall Street Journal was writing about how she's laying the groundwork, uh, but she still denies it. But then she comes out, you'll see her more and more, and she comes out with— she talks, she talks about, uh, AI and how she need— we need to control it and all that. Like, when you know that Kamala is talking AI, you know she's running. That's just— oh, and she came out, she just, she posted on X too this morning, I think, um, saying that, you know, gas prices are high and grocery prices are high and it's all because of you, Donald Trump.
Ah, yes. Well, I'm gonna work on my Kamala impersonation. I want to get that down. Who else do I have to impersonate? Who else is gonna run? So is Cory Booker gonna run if he's debating for, uh, senator again? I don't know. We'll see. We'll see.
I think they all run, but they, they always have a particular person in mind. And I, I don't know, Kamala's trying to make the party heads agree that it's going to be her, but they're not convinced.
How would the big donors put up with that? I mean, running her again. Anyway, it's—
It'll be fun.
Yeah, Democrats, I sort of feel sorry for you guys because you have absolutely no say in what, what happens with your party. But oh well, you're sheep. Okay, so you guys, thank you so much for today. I hope you enjoyed Marcella and I and Joel popping in. Thanks, Chris, so sweet. And, uh, Owen will be back with us tomorrow. Um, listen, impersonate Newsom. I got— I've got my Newsom going. I think— feel like I need wigs. I need— I need props. I'm looking for props. So yes, I'll get a whiskey bottle for Kamala, the bad suit, and she's always flapping her arms like a chicken and bobbing her head.
She's like— her eyes are like a little bit like, I can't see.
But she's always doing this. And my family We sat around the table and we'd laugh from, from the inside. She's like, oh really? Your family sat around? Like, that's so unique, Kamala, that you guys would laugh and sit around the table drinking coffee. How, how amazing. Um, oh God, the memes on Locals.
What is going on?
Marcel.
Oh, I love that hair.
You guys, join Locals for the fun. 19 cents a day. scottadams.locals.com.
How do you do that? The chat?
Yeah, we can share the chat. They could scroll back. All right, so let's do it, you guys. Let's say thank you to Scott and Shelley for allowing this show to continue, for the school to go on. And I had a clip of Scott I couldn't get to today, but we can do it tomorrow. And it's going to help us with our own persuasion. So that's going to be good. We're going to need to persuade people to do things. I can feel it. So thank you to Scott and Shelley. And let's have a Closing sip to our most beloved Scott Adams. To Scott.
To Scott.
All right, if Marcella can stay, we can do a song. Can you stay, Marcella?
I'll do a song.
I'll put it all on you otherwise. Okay, let's do
Demon Fire.
Let's do How to Program Reality. Here we go.
Okay.
Oh, I love
Ooh, what are you trying to do to me, Erica? Look at that.
Let me show you my path toward figuring out the user interface. It's important that you know how I got there so that you could have some trust that there's something to it. When I was a kid, I was I was influenced, as was my mother, by the book The Power of Positive Thinking by Norman Vincent Peale. This suggested that you could somehow change your life, or maybe you were changing reality, if you could simply think positively. Think positively. Think positively. Think positively. So this was my first introduction to the concept that maybe reality was not fixed and something that you were a victim of, but rather you could do something. There was some mechanism, some technique, some tools you could use to get some control over your environment and your life, as opposed to having it control you. Rob. And that was my first thought, that reality could be programmable in at least some simple sense. But of course, I embarked on a lifetime of exploration to find out if I could find out more about how to program reality. Think positively. Think positively. Think positively. Grab hands. Program reality. Think positively. Think positively. Think positive. Led me to learn meditation. I became a trained hypnotist. Of course, mushrooms let you see the world in a completely different reality. And all of these things, from studying all the different religions to doing affirmations, which is really just visualizing what you want and writing it out every day. Visualize what you want, writing it down every day, and then learning persuasion. These all had the same cumulative effect of teaching me that reality was indeed far more subjective than you're led to believe. And when I say reality is subjective, I don't mean that there isn't some base reality that's real. What I mean is In other words, just take religion. 2 people with completely different religions can go into a store, they can shop, they can get married, have children. They don't really need to reconcile the fact that they live in different worlds. One thinks there's an afterlife, one thinks there's reincarnation, one thinks there's nothing, and yet we, we all survive and thrive and have families. The problem with religion is that we don't have access to it. There's nothing to suggest that our brains are the kind of brains that can understand reality. Reality. Instead, all of the evidence suggests that we can put filters, optionally and somewhat subjectively, on our reality. And the thing that we deal with is a filter. We're not dealing with the underlying reality. Our filter on it is the thing that's real to us. And you can change those filters, so that's the important part. And you can change them fairly easily. And if you find a filter that predicts better and makes you happier, well, that's the better filter, even if it isn't a better approximation of reality. What matters is you're happy. What matters is you're getting what you need out of life. Think positively. Think positively. Think positively. How to program reality. Think positively. Think positively. Think positively. Program reality. You can change those filters. Change those filters. Change those filters. How to program reality. Think positively. Think positively. Think positively. So once you accept that there's a subjective reality, you're starting to get ready to accept the user interface for that reality.
Ooh, love! I love that one. It's so jazzy. It's so good. I love that.
So romantic.
No Metallica, let me tell you what. Did anyone listen to Metallica after hearing about Metallica yesterday?
I did. When I went to work, I was listening to it.
Oh, nice. Okay, good. Um, Clink, you wish you had permission to use Akira's stuff. Could make some really cute videos. Message him. You never know. He also makes videos, so keep that in mind. He makes his own videos. Oh, somebody asked, was it Maureen or somebody asked on YouTube, you were wondering, maybe it was Linda, about Akira has those cartoons in his latest video and he absolutely has permission to use them. I asked him and he does. He has absolute permission to use them. So don't feel like he just stole somebody's work. Okay.
They are from movies though.
Yeah. And they're, they're out there where he's— they're from the '50s and he told me the whole explanation of it. But yes, he's absolutely allowed to use those. What else? Very Berry White. You thought about Metallica and the lyrics I got wrong. Oh, okay. Metallica news. Oh, did you miss it yesterday, Lucinda? Is that what you're saying? I wish I knew what everybody was thinking. Let me see. Um, Metallica is awesome.
I know what everybody's thinking. They're thinking we're awesome. That's what they think.
Amazing. Did you guys give us a like?
Yeah.
Did you? Did you?
Everybody like. Everybody on Locals, go to YouTube and like us.
That's so funny. Uh, yes, copyright Expired, Andy, all that stuff. But there, I think there's also like a. I don't know,
Andy, but
there's a thing. There's the fair use.
Fair use when you take a product and then recreate it and cut it up and do it, put it as part of your artwork.
Let me see if I can find my message from Akira, and I'll tell you what he said. Da da da. Akira, where are you? Here we are. Okay. Let me just read that part. Okay. So basically those are samples of a bunch of old public domain, out of copyright public service cartoons from the '50s, specifically from the YouTube video description, video samples, Albert in Blunderland from 1950, how the stock market works.
In that particular video, but in others it's not.
Cartoon tutorial, economics investing video, 1952. So, um, if people are interested, if you check the description of the videos on YouTube, it usually has that sort of information. So they are, again, um, basically those are samples of a bunch of old public domain, out of copyright public service cartoons from the '50s. Okay, I, I did want to clear that up.
Andy, it's so funny. Some of them are anime, uh, from one of the biggest anime creators, and not in that particular video, in another video. So, but again, fair use when you create a new product from when you splice it and put everything else on it. Um,
and Akira is very careful because his music is copyrighted too, so he, like, he's not going to infringe on someone else's work if If you're not allowed, he's you know he's he's not new. He's not new at it.
He knows what he's doing. He knows what he's doing.
But thanks for asking because you know integrity matters. It sure does. Okay, thanks Wigpick. All right, you guys. So Marcella and
I will
see what
I forgot to mention the best news ever too on top of the Kamala Harris thing.
Oh, go ahead.
There is a chance. I predicted that Hillary's gonna run too.
Oh good God, help me.
She's creating a podcast with— oh my gosh, the lesbian lady. Um,
Michelle Obama?
No, no, no, she works with, uh, Scott Galloway.
Oh my God, Kara Swisher!
Yeah, they're doing a podcast until—
perfect—
every day until the midterms, I think, or almost every day.
I can't think of—
Call it the More Disgusting Podcast.
Oh my God, 2 women I can't stand more. There you go. Perfect.
But do you understand, like, like the, the, the demon has been summoned, but in a different way. It's like we're having Kamala and Hillary all at once.
Oh God, terrible. All right, so Kara Swisher is completely unbearable. So good luck. Maybe they'll have as many views as Michelle Obama gets on her podcast. Which is like nothing.
Does she still have a podcast?
I think so, where she trashes her husband all the time. She talks about how miserable he is, she is, her kids have just worn her out, and blah blah blah. I'm like, oh my God.
CR Fletcher, there was a Hillary and Chelsea podcast. I gotta watch that. I didn't know there was one. The fun, the, the craziness that they talk about, we can like Send it to Jay and he can cut it up and show it to everybody.
Heck no. All right, Lord, I'm with you. Crank one. Okay, so you guys, you guys are so funny.
Right for Halloween, Witch Fest.
Um, Stella, let's see. Erica and Marcella look forward to this every morning. Thank you. Come here.
2 bullets was side.
Stella is meowing the whole entire show, and then when I try to grab her, she runs away. Are you purring,
Stella? We need, we need a Gary and Robyn update when you can.
I do have pictures. I keep forgetting to post them, and they are great, by the way. They're great. Oh God, there's Joy Reid. She's gonna swat me. I can feel it.
She needs to run too.
I can feel it. All right, you guys, say goodbye so we don't hang up on you. And then we'll see you back here tomorrow morning. Tomorrow morning. We're so like silly today, aren't we? Yeah. Yeah. Because Owen's not here. I don't know what that has to do. You'll share the dogs tomorrow. Oh, a Pyrenees, a Newfie. Oh my gosh, amazing. They wouldn't listen just
now. Hillary's tip on cooking children.
Oh God, do you hear her? She's out of control.
Hillary?
No, Stella. Oh my God, Stella!
I thought Hillary was— I hear—
see, Marcella, I get stuck in this loop because, you know, we're delayed, and so like we see their chat later that I— it's so hard to hang up the show because I'm reading everyone's stuff.
Calico cat. That's her cat.
You know it's a female feline. That's right. She's old.
Are all calico cats female?
I believe they are. Yeah.
I don't know that.
And I kind of feel like—
You know that now.
The tuxedos are all boys, but am I wrong? I don't know. I'll ask Chester later.
We'll ask Chester because Hillary's really killing it on her
podcast. Bye, Flynn Lizzie. Bye, you guys.
We're not suicidal, you guys. We're not suicidal.
No, no, not today anyway. Oh my God, tomorrow could be a different story. You never know.
Yeah, well, don't say that, man.
Oh yeah, no, no, no, it's a joke. Just a joke. Um, oh, Pappy, I'm so jealous. Trans Calico exists. Interesting. Okay, Metal Seer. I will miss you too.
Where are you, Pappy Surf?
Hawaii.
Is he?
That's where he lives.
Oh man.
Mm-hmm. Bye-bye.
I mean, good for you. For me, I'm not there.
Oh my gosh! All right, guys. See ya. See you tomorrow.
