Chief PeaceKeeper™ Scott Levin Endorses The Book 'Our Happy Divorce'

Scott Levin, a divorce mediator, endorses Our Happy Divorce, which follows Ben and Nikki through a collaborative divorce while prioritizing their son Asher. Levin says collaborative divorce and mediation let parents stay in control and build a respectful relationship after splitting, creating a different kind of family instead of the bitter endings people usually hear about.
Chapters
Hey everyone, this is Scott Levin, Chief Peacekeeper. One of the books that's in my library here at the office and featured on my website where I recommend various writings and books and things about divorce is Our Happy Divorce. It's a story of 2 people who had lots of feelings about each other and their situation. And entered the divorce process with the potential to act on those feelings and those hurt feelings, but instead came together with an attitude of and focus on what's best for their child. So they put their child first and made all the decisions relating to their divorce with what's best for Asher. And the first one, of course, is what's the best process to go through divorce? What's best for Asher? How can we do that in a way that affects him negatively the least possible amount? They eventually landed on a collaborative divorce. That's a part of divorce that I also practice. My main part is mediation. But the bottom line is, in both collaborative divorce and in mediation, you're in control and you're talking directly with your co-parent, your spouse, your soon-to-be ex-spouse, and you can prioritize everything that you want in terms of what's best for our kids. How is that going to impact our kids? How's the financial settlement going to affect our kids? What's the best sort of financial settlement for our kids? All those things can be prioritized like Ben and Nikki did. And as they told— as told in this book, through the realm or perspective about, you know, what's best for Asher, their kid at the time. So I just want to recommend this reading. It's not super long, but it's so impactful. It's inspiring. And, you know, the thing about divorce is that I have tons of clients like Nikki and Ben— they weren't clients, but like them— that go through the process of divorce. And they actually become closer during it, and they, they reprioritize or reorganize their family. So they're not married at the end, but that doesn't mean that they don't respect, love each other, and want to have a family. It's just a different type of family. So there are a ton of— there's a ton of negativity out online and social media about the divorce world and all the horrible experiences, of course. people go through those, and it's sad, but it doesn't have to happen. So Our Happy Divorce, couldn't recommend it more, and hope you'll check it out. So Scott Levin, Chief Peacekeeper, and another book recommendation. Thank you.
