Scott Levin, founding partner of San Diego Divorce, Mediation & Family Law, warns against hiring aggressive divorce attorneys who promise to punish your spouse. Litigated divorces often cost $200,000+ over years and rarely deliver the revenge clients want. Mediation protects your money and your family instead.

Hey everyone, Scott Levin, founding partner at San Diego Divorce, Mediation, and Family Law. I just got a text from a friend of mine asking me if I could recommend or refer to him a shark attorney. And I know on YouTube and Google out there that there are a ton of people that Search that exact phrase, shark attorney. I mean, you know what that means for a reason. And I just want to convey to anybody that's thinking along those lines, um, that if you let a shark in the cage, everybody will get bloody. I guarantee it. So if you want to hire a shark attorney to use the litigation divorce process To get retribution against your spouse and to prove that you are right and they were wrong and to show the judge and everybody all the horrible things they did to you, it's very likely that you will not succeed. The system is not set up well for people to empty their garbage into it and to get anything other than garbage back. So I just, I really think it's important that if you're searching something about a shark attorney, that you realize that you'll get eaten too once you let it in the cage. I mean, that's, that's the image I want you to have. If an attorney is telling you everything that you want to hear about how you're gonna get an opportunity to prove that you are right, to show the judge all these things that they have done to you, You're going to spend a fortune. You're not going to get what you want in the end. And it's just a damn shame because it doesn't have to go down like that. You can, you can divorce without trying to use the system punitively. You ask anybody that's been through a 3, 4, 5-year-long divorce, what would you change? They would say going through a 3, 4, 5-year divorce. And spending $200,000 or whatever it ends up being. I mean, any amount of money with litigation, whether you're rich or poor, is going to be significant to you in your standing. So whatever it is your, your, your situation is financially, it's a shame that your kids and your grandkids won't have access to those funds when they're gone because the litigation system and the lawyers will eat you up. So not every lawyer is bad. I just want you to know, if you have a shark attorney and they're telling you everything you want to hear, you're going down the wrong way. So this is Scott Levin. I am the founding partner at San Diego Divorce Mediation and Family Law. So we are an alternative to litigation, but I just want to wish everyone a safe weekend and hope that that you are where you want to be, and that if you're watching this, you, you might be inspired to take a different path. Thanks a lot.
