A trainer shows how to set up and perform banded push-ups as a step between bench and full push-ups. The band loops through J-clips or attaches to a rig, positioned at your hip bones to assist the upward push. Keep your shoulder blades back and elbows tight to build strength with good form.

All right, so another push-up progression here we would throw in the mix, probably between a bench push-up and a full push-up, is adding a band around a rig. So we can either set it up on sides here, or if you want to lower the J-clips, we can throw it across those as well. Um, we just want to make sure these aren't going to fall out on you. Um, so with this, same technique again, okay? I want to keep shoulder blades down and back, elbows nice and tight by the side, and this band should hit top of the hip bones here to help support us on that push-up. So it would be about here, okay? Keeping elbows nice and tight to the side, and the band's going to give you a little bit of help on the way back up. So another great variation to help mix in our push-up progressions there and feel stronger and get better with form and technique.
